@inventiveinsanity lots of options other than nuclear. Solar, wind, geo-thermal, biofuels. Who knows what else theyll think of next. Nuclear has one glaring problem, and that is the waste. Its almost completely untreatable, and has to be stored for thousnads of years. Until they figure out a way to deal with that waste. Nuclear isnt a great option. The real trick is to use less energy. also, human error can happen. Chernobyl, Three Mile Island. oil is usefull, but we should move away from it.

@quizmark Nuclear waste is actually very, very safe. They move it in very protective trains that can withstand damage like a tank. Not to mention the fact that if fresh waste were to be spilled into, for example, a pond. It could be safe for a short while. They store nuclear waste thousands of feet under ground [they're building a facility in America, should be finished by 2015-2020]. You should do more research on this. Nuclear is the safest, most efficient fuel source known to man right now.
