They did have more eggs! But because we don't have room to let all of our eggs hatch here (we are at the optimum number of birds in our flamingo enclosure), we can help other zoos increase their flocks.
Staff from Ohio's Columbus Zoo drove here and transported five eggs in heated boxes back to their zoo. Those eggs should be hatching soon, and staff will hand rear the chicks.
Theyre doing great! They havent reached maturity yet (theyre still gray) so theyre easy to spot in the pink flock.

I love the flamingos! They had a lot more eggs, but I guess only two made it...
