WHO just announced the swine flu pandemic as over. Tons of money were wasted on vaccinations. And like I commented more than a year ago, the regular flu killed more people than H1N1. I'm not making light of the deaths, I'm just saying the media and the government sensationalized this whole incident, and you, UnsavoryMen, fell for it. You conveniently left out the end of his comments, "but over 25 people died from the vaccine..." (the last swine-flu scare killed 1 person) What neo-con/neo-liberal think-tank do you work for?
Out of the 27,717 cases of swine flu in the U.S., less than 1 percent have died.
Isnt there cost involved at personal level and for the society in large ? Treatment, hospitalization, medical bills, loss to time at work or at school, risk of transmitting that virus to other ?
The CDC? estimates that an average of 36,000 people die in the U.S. each year from the common flu.
So add more load to the health care system by the addition of 27,717 cases of swine flu ?
@UnsavoryMen You are an ignorant fool. The symptoms of both the flu and supposed 'swine flu' were the fucking same. When the poor unfortunates who died of regular flu were reported to the medical system, the scum there called it 'more swine flu victims'. The CDC estimates that an average of 36,000 people die in the U.S. each year from the common flu.

Swine flu is bad, but it's not the black plague. Put it into perspective and even the common flu is worse. Paul's against forced vaccinations because they can cause deaths.
Yet the CDC has never dealt with a swine flu pandemic. Yea the regular ol garden variety flu is the worst. No one can force people to get vaccinations. So I am just saying. here this should be relevant: the H1N1 virus was much more deadly back then and humans have a stronger immune response to the virus than they would have in 1918.. this is another scare caused by the 2 party system and media that only follows our two parties. Ron Paul has stated that the gov't should not intervene because all they do is make things worse, listen to that WHOLE interview, you would know that 1 person died from the H1N1 virus and just under 30 died from the mandated vaccination
This is idiocracy. The fact that you have made four of these videos coming after Ron Paul, let's me know for a fact that he is on the right track. I mean why would you be so eager to target him?
So this video is saying that the government needs to get involved and fix things? Ive never seen our government fix anything. In my lifetime it seems that the government is only good at two things: Spending money and infecting social issues with bureaucracy.
And yes, its apparent why this video doesn't allow ratings.
I enlisted in the U.S. Army 5 years ago. During OSUT the shot clinic informed me that I had never been exposed to chickenpox as a child, and they ordered a varicella vaccine for me.
About a month ago, I developed shingles, which is chickenpox re-appearing in an adult, but it's more painful and unpleasant. If my only exposure to chickenpox was through a vaccine treatment, then isn't it likely that my bout with shingles was caused by that vaccine treatment?
How can you so sure ? Chicken pox can be spread by cough and sneeze from infected person which means it is an airborne disease besides having potential of getting it from direct physical contact with secretions from the rash of infected person.
I myself had a bout of of Chicken Pox back in 2003.
A new study has found that the chickenpox vaccine given to children wears off -- suggesting that a second dose is required to ward off a more severe case of the disease over the long term.
The authors of the study, which can be found in The New England Journal of Medicine, examined 10 years of surveillance data linked to chickenpox cases in 350,000 subjects.
What branch of COINTELPRO do you work for?? And good job shutting off your ratings so you dont get one stared to hell. And btw, you can take your mercury laced, rumsfeld stock owned vaccine and line the elites pockets some more. 30 years of no vaccines and im feeling fine.
He's just saying its getting out of hand with spending. Its the flu... there is no cure for the flu. When you get a flu shot its just a variation of the strain they think is going to hit - the last 6 years they guessed the wrong strain. If you got the flu twice that's why. European countries and China are in an uproar with the World Health Organization arguing that the swine flu is a mild flu, that the word pandemic needs to also have the degree of threat. Government blew this out of proportion
Judging by the two videos you've posted I'd have to say you're a germaphobe. I would suggest seeing a shrink to treat your OCD. If you are a CA resident maybe you can get on the Dr. Phil show. He's looking to do a show called: Are you a Germaphobe?
I wish you the best of luck in finding treatment for your disorder. Good day to you sir!
Unsavory you reply is not showing up so here is my response:
You did not neglect to have an audio clip of Paul speaking of the 1976 :outbreak." Reread my post and you'll see I never said that
You cherry picked audio in which Paul doesn't mention swine flu VACCINE deaths(more than actual flu deaths)whereas it took me all of forty seconds to find a better quality clip of him on CNN where he does mention it. YOur clip makes Paul seem callous, whereas he knows that gov't shouldn't get involved.
This is obviously biased; people die from influenza, even in the U.S. There will be no, "global pandemic" the media simply realizes that they're ratings go up every time something scary might happen, no matter how unlikely- and politicians like to feel as if they're useful.
Also, you neglected to mention that the vaccine killed 25 people in the 1976 outbreak-more than the flu itself. There were reports that it paralyzed some people, more so than the avg vaccine.
It's close to lunacy to do nothing about pandemics. Our city was hit with SARS another type of Avian Flu back in 2003. It was pretty scary to venture out freely in the city during the crisis. It did not originate here but it was brought here by an infected person who was on Hong Kong-Toronto, Canada flight.
Governments of Hong Kong and Canada should have acted fast enough. I guess the government of Canada has learned the lesson.
How does the suggestion of removing government from the picture automatically equal the suggestion of doing nothing? Doctor's and scientists are quite capable of finding solutions without some beaurocrat looking over their shoulders.
Do doctors and scientists at CDC, FDA, Dept of Agriculture and HHS count as bureaucrats ?
I guess the doctors and scientists outside the government will spend billions of dollars of their personal bank accounts tackling current flu crisis and upcoming flu cases in the fall and winter in the next 4-5 months.
No, but they are accountable to the bureaucrats. Everything they do must be authorized by them first. I'm not sure how anyone can think this massive red tape is beneficial or the most effecient way to do things.
I find your second statement pretty puzzling. Do you think the doctors and scientists that work for government agencies work for free? Do you think the entire agency works for free?
I dont think the 'tea bagging' 'secessionist' governor of Texas took orders from CDC or FDA or HHS when his state closed schools in his state to prevent spread of flu among school children.
The death of assistant-school principal from H1N1 flu in New York City in the last day or two might have proved the 'tea bagging' governor's state did the right thing.
I wouldn't go that far. If you listen closely to what he says, he wants government to protect our civil liberties and to uphold the constitution. A big part of this is following the 10th ammendment, anything not listed in the constitution is left up to the states to figure out. I feel much more comfortable about a governnor closing certain schools down, than the federal government doing it. I just think that a top down approach to things on that kind of scale is terribly ineffecient.
you're right. The Constitution is the supreme law of this country. Maybe if some people like unsavorymen actually read it then he would know what it says
The right to spread Swine Flu to me or any other people is not a civil liberty nor it is written in the Constitutional right as your Constitutional right .
Wow that is just an unbelievably horrible argument all I can do is laugh.
Swine Flu today is just like it was back in 1976. You wouldn't know you didn't go to medical school like Ron Paul did. I think someone who goes to medical school knows a little bit more about medical science then someone who didn't.
People should decide how to handle it within their own communities rather then having the government tell them what to do. Maybe if you should think for yourself
I dont think CDC of FDA or HHS people came down to those schools and told them to shut them down.
I'm pretty sure state and county government made those decisions to close those school in their jurisdiction.
Ron Paul does not want any government involvement at any level regardless it's at federal or state of county or city level . The right to spread Swine Flu to me or any other people is not a civil liberty I guess.
Ron Paul says we need to go back to the Constitution. You know the document that limits the government power and tells the government what they can and can't do. That it also says by the 10 Amendment that any law not clarified at a Federal level is therefore made the decision of the States.
State means the people themselves. Think about it for a minute do you really think someone in New York should tell someone in California how to live or laws they should abide?
I also find it amusing that those who attack DOCTOR (remember this is a MD talking about H1N1) Ron Paul always insult him ('Ron Paul's non-sense') rather then present arguable statements that he is wrong. Also interesting that while trying to discredit him on the 2009 H1N1 incident, it's audio of him talking about how he was right about the 1976 incident, yet the video displays stats from the 1918 pandemic. He didn't say he was right about 1918, he said he was right about 1976.
Ron Paul remembers 1976 H1H1 flu pandemic and a single death during that flu season yet conveniently forgets to mention 1918-1919 H1N1 flu pandemic when millions died.
He can pick and choose whichever flu pandemic to make his case and so can anyone else.
Just like any other 'do nothing' libertarian, his fundamental message is 'dont be prepared' no matter wherever might happen with this unpredictable virus.
Maybe because the mans an M.D and can tell the difference between a potentially lethal flu, and fear-mongerining-ratings-seeking-bullshit that has played itself out, and killed very few people.
That is the most troubling thing. It's coming out of a medical doctor's mouth.
Well, may be because Ron Paul doesnt believe in EVOLUTION...he probably thinks this this virus will not mutate and EVOLVE into far more deadly in the coming weeks or months than what it appears to be at this point in time.
Hah way to make a false statement based off opinion rather then fact.
Oh wow let's not compare the swine flu to same exact disease that broke out in 1976, but rather compare it to a much deadlier disease that broke out almost 100 years ago.
I guess you think medical science hasn't advanced whatsoever in the past 100 years. I guess we shouldn't concentrate on the actual disease.
The thing with killer viruses is that they don't take weeks to evolve, if they have the potential to mutate, they will mutate within hours, or days. Its been weeks now, the virus went pretty widespread, spanning the globe, it hasn't mutated, and its highly unlikely it will now.
And what does it matter if he doesn't believe in evolution? Evolution of a virus is different to a mutation of a virus. Also, evolution of a virus and evolution of a species are 2 entirely different concepts.
More people died yesterday in train crashes than the number of people killed by swine flu in an entire month.
A mutation leads to evolution. So a mutation in one generation, if it is not self-limiting, over several generations, the species is considered to have evolve. A mutation is a genetic change, whereas evolution takes one or more mutations that are considered helpful, and the species changes over a period of time.
I find it hilarious that someone would post this video AFTER it's been made obvious that Ron Paul was right. But hey, if you like having a massive government that is involved in every factor of your life, then power to you... the rest of us, well, we're just about personal freedom, prosperity and liberty. Who do you trust to tell you about a virus, your government, or your doctor (like DOCTOR Ron Paul)?
the point is not that nothing should be done, but that the government is not the one to do it. The medical profession is capable of dealing with this situation without costly intervention. Also remember that the circumstances of the 1918 breakout are not the same as today. Medicine and an understanding of how a flu is spread is more advanced. My grandfather told me they used a camphor necklace to ward of the flu. I think we can do better than that now. media based panic is not the answer.
I'm surprised you keep this video up considering it demonstrates that he was right.

Your video and assertions are all lies, he is speaking as a Federal servant, not as a city or state servant.

Swine flu vaccine killed more people than the flu.
HE DELIVERED 4000 BABIES, he didn't advocate not doing good hygiene.
The government couldn't stop the AIDS pandemic and tb is killing more people now.

Maybe because the mans an M.D and can tell the difference between a potentially lethal flu, and fear-mongerining-ratings-seeking-bullshit that has played itself out, and killed very few people.
roflcopter2006 2 years ago 3

I guess we shouldn't concentrate on the actual disease.
mymindisfree09 2 years ago
Also let's recall something about the SWINE FLU of 1976.
1 that's right 1!!!!! Person died because of the actual disease whereas 27!!! people died because of mandatory government vaccinations.
Yeah nice argument you have there. You wanna make a connection between the swine flu and the black plague too?
I think you forgot that medical science is just a little better now then it was 90 years ago

The thing with killer viruses is that they don't take weeks to evolve, if they have the potential to mutate, they will mutate within hours, or days. Its been weeks now, the virus went pretty widespread, spanning the globe, it hasn't mutated, and its highly unlikely it will now.
roflcopter2006 2 years ago 2
And what does it matter if he doesn't believe in evolution? Evolution of a virus is different to a mutation of a virus. Also, evolution of a virus and evolution of a species are 2 entirely different concepts.
More people died yesterday in train crashes than the number of people killed by swine flu in an entire month.
roflcopter2006 2 years ago

Great video, yall. Thanks for this.

the point is not that nothing should be done, but that the government is not the one to do it.
