This is my own review of this song: this has inane lyrics, monotone meanderings, computer generated mundane song, The vocals are good especially the female's voice. But the chorus line failed to take advantage of her apparent vocal power & range (w/c could help push this average song to the top) & the arrangement suppressed the artists from expressing more emotions. But the saddest thing is, fans of both artist & the people behind this collaboration will blindly say it's a GREAT song..

Japan being considered as the 2nd largest music market in the world is a different story. Asia has not produced an artist/singer as well known or as influential in the worldwide music as the Beatles, Elvis Priesley ,Madonna, Michael Jackson or even the teen icon Taylor Swift. Music is universal. It's like the air we breath,we all breath it but only in diff places.

@DarkAngel0072011 I said that wrong. I think this song's melody is very pleasant to listen to but isn't particularly distinctive. What stands out for me and catches MY attention is the VOCALS. Specifically the high long notes of Charice at the beginning of the song and how Unique's blends well with her. IMO, if this was released for the US market, they would change the arrangement to a heavier dance beat, with deep bass & both their voices would sound more raw and rougher to make it edgier.

The only reason i'm listening to this song right now is because of Charice. If not for her, i would not bother to listen to this song..So imagine if i'm just a casual listener and i hear it on the radio, i might not take notice or i might change the station. This song lacks something. But If they decide not to do something with this song, this song will just rely on great promotions to become a hit.
@DarkAngel0072011 I agree with you. It's Charice's high soaring vocals that gives the 'oomph" factor to this song. Unique's voice really doesn't sound that unique here, It could be Chris Brown, Kevin Rudolf, or any of the guys on AI, Kris Allen, Anoop Desai or even Justin Guarini! LOL! But I must say their voices blend amazingly well & I can't wait to hear the full version. I hope they come out with a music video.
I know that fans of both artists will definitely support this song. And this could be a hit in Japan if supported with great promotions. But we need to see the bigger picture here. Take for example JB's "Baby". We set aside JB's vocals and it's lyrics.(coz it's just so ordinary). The melody is really great if u really listen to it. When u hear it, u feel happy or u want to dance. Now this song "wherever u are". It's sounds a little bit gloomy. Or worse, so little emotions in it. The idea is to "move" people's emotions whether u want them to become happy,sad,in love, dance, sing along and so on..

I tried to listen to this song over and over again but i was not totally satisfied. Do you take constructive criticisms?i hope so..There is nothing special with this song..To make a hit, a song should stand out. This song is only good as one of those tracks in an album,not good to be released as a single. Some "X" factor is missing.Please consider rearranging the whole song,improve the beat/melody. make it more danceable/faster. The "Groove" does matter also.

Charice never uses auto-tune when she sings, she doesn't need it. People thought Charice was using auto-tune in Pyramid but her voice is naturally like that, almost perfect! Other than the Telephone cover in GLEE (which was not her choice), Charice can sing songs originally sung in auto-tune and re-create the same exact sound naturally. Charice is even capable of doing the back up vocals + main vocals at the same time, hence she doesn't even need back up singers!
@Archangelicque Auto-tune was indeed used in here, even in Pyramid. But, unlike other artists, Charice is not using auto-tune to fix her voice or to correct pitches. Auto-tune was used as effects.
I like Unique's voice...he could actually sing. Although I've never heard of him. I'm glad Charice is doing a single with him. It's sorta different and similar to most songs on the radio e.g. Rap with a few chorus lines from a featured artist. Overall it sounds great.

@rodski2 yes it's actually a huge achievement for a newcomer but to say she's already huge there is an exaggeration, IMO. These past years, I'm more familiar w/ the east Asian music industry and the songs/ artists that enter the music scene like Japan, Taiwan and Korea than the US and I would say that though Charice is not yet huge, she's getting there provided that she continues to perform there and appear in Music shows hopefully to increase her fans.

I just finished watching one of Japan's year-end music shows called FNS aired today and only 2 foreign acts were there Salena Jones (US) and SNSD (Korea). One of the most prestigious year end shows is Kouhaku on New Year's Eve and I was hoping Charice would get invited but the list is out and no Charice. But they have Susan Boyle as the only Western singer.

She has been carrying herself with covers and some original songs. Other singers would have been forgotten. She landed the role on Glee & continues to sing in big gigs in USA based on talent. All this w/ a weak commercial album that produced no follow-up singles. I'd say that is one hell of an accomplishment !

Charice, has a unique voice quality, in that, it is so full of body, soul and melody yet powerful at the same time. This is my own review of this song: this has inane lyrics, monotone meanderings, computer generated mundane song, The vocals are good especially the female's voice. But the chorus line failed to take advantage of her apparent vocal power & range (w/c could help push this average song to the top) & the arrangement suppressed the artists from expressing more emotions. But the saddest thing is, fans of both artist & the people behind this collaboration will blindly say it's a GREAT song..

Considering she's a featured artist in this song, she already took a considerable amount of recording time and also delivers a powerful and convincing studio performance that one might be confused with who's the featured artist from the two of them...Also, this is not the "female's" song in the first place so its inappropriate for her to overpower Unique... and the arrangement enables them to get that upbeat tempo that captures attention..

I know this is Unique's song and this will be released only in Japan. But Charice is involved in this song and i am a big fan of hers so i only want whats best for her. So i hope they improve this song. If they are aiming for RNB love song for this, then they should find ways for this to have more emotions. Make people fall in love or be inspired upon hearing this song. I heard a lot of JPop already and i know they r capable of doing great songs especially love songs.

@DarkAngel0072011 I said that wrong. I think this song's melody is very pleasant to listen to but isn't particularly distinctive. What stands out for me and catches MY attention is the VOCALS. Specifically the high long notes of Charice at the beginning of the song and how Unique's blends well with her. IMO, if this was released for the US market, they would change the arrangement to a heavier dance beat, with deep bass & both their voices would sound more raw and rougher to make it edgier.

The only reason i'm listening to this song right now is because of Charice. If not for her, i would not bother to listen to this song..So imagine if i'm just a casual listener and i hear it on the radio, i might not take notice or i might change the station. Unique's voice really doesn't sound that unique here, It could be Chris Brown, Kevin Rudolf, or any of the guys on AI, Kris Allen, Anoop Desai or even Justin Guarini! LOL! But I must say their voices blend amazingly well & I can't wait to hear the full version. I hope they come out with a music video.

When u hear it, u feel happy or u want to dance. Now this song "wherever u are". It's sounds a little bit gloomy. Or worse, so little emotions in it. The idea is to "move" people's emotions whether u want them to become happy,sad,in love, dance, sing along and so on..

I tried to listen to this song over and over again but i was not totally satisfied. Do you take constructive criticisms?i hope so..There is nothing special with this song..To make a hit, a song should stand out. This song is only good as one of those tracks in an album,not good to be released as a single. Some "X" factor is missing.Please consider rearranging the whole song,improve the beat/melody. make it more danceable/faster. The "Groove" does matter also.

Charice never uses auto-tune when she sings, she doesn't need it. People thought Charice was using auto-tune in Pyramid but her voice is naturally like that, almost perfect! Other than the Telephone cover in GLEE (which was not her choice), Charice can sing songs originally sung in auto-tune and re-create the same exact sound naturally. Charice is even capable of doing the back up vocals + main vocals at the same time, hence she doesn't even need back up singers!

@Archangelicque Auto-tune was indeed used in here, even in Pyramid. But, unlike other artists, Charice is not using auto-tune to fix her voice or to correct pitches. Auto-tune was used as effects.

@rodski2 yes it's actually a huge achievement for a newcomer but to say she's already huge there is an exaggeration, IMO. These past years, I'm more familiar w/ the east Asian music industry and the songs/ artists that enter the music scene like Japan, Taiwan and Korea than the US and I would say that though Charice is not yet huge, she's getting there provided that she continues to perform there and appear in Music shows hopefully to increase her fans.

Actually, this song is a collaboration of four artists. RnB singer Unique Zayas, International singer Charice, producer Jeff Miyahara and songwriter Claude Kelly but this is Unique's single and Charice is the featured artist. I'ma say, this song is so chaddicting. Nice vocal prowess by Unique and Charice. Can't wait for it to be released.

I suppose Zayas does sound like Iyaz, LOL. BTW, Charice just tweeted she's recording a song by Sean Garrett, one of the top HipHop artist/producers around. Top 40 acts like Katy Perry, Beyonce, Mariah Carey, Rhianna, Justin Beiber, Usher, etc all have collaborated with rap or hiphop artists.

Yeah she got a gold record award but there are western artists who got platinum awards this year and non-Japanese asian acts like those koreans are getting more popular than charice. The venue for her concert isn't really huge like less than 5k capacity?
I hope she gets more famous after her Feb concert tour too. I also hope she guests in music shows while she's there because that will really increase her fanbase.

I just finished watching one of Japan's year-end music shows called FNS aired today and only 2 foreign acts were there Salena Jones (US) and SNSD (Korea). One of the most prestigious year end shows is Kouhaku on New Year's Eve and I was hoping Charice would get invited but the list is out and no Charice. But they have Susan Boyle as the only Western singer.

@cassyclim8 Just because she is not on the list, does not mean they did not contemplate on inviting her. Perhaps they did invite her but her hectic schedule did not permit for it to happen. It is not like she can takeoff on the drop of a hat ;) As for Susan Boyle, did you see what happened on the view? Hope she does better there.

@Deathtoautotune2010 yes I'm not discounting the fact that they could've invited her but she just happen to turn it down.Charice is seen as a Western artist based fr how she was categorized at the Oricon charts & they don't usually invite western artists in their year-end shows except probably for kouhaku where they are invited as special guest. I was just banking on Charice as asian to be enough at least to get invited. but idk, even in speculations and rumors she isn't there. i could be wrong.

@cassyclim8 Yes, some fans do overhype Charice & ahead of themselves in their enthusiasm. I also LOVE and adore Cha but I agree it's too early her to be invited to Kouhaku, But Warner Japan is working hard in promoting her. She has an active Japanese blog. She will sing live for J-Wave Radio Dec 19. She is featured on several magazines including the Feb issue of Vivi, interviewed by Marie, a famous Japanese-Canadian model & TV host. M sure she'll guest on Japanese TV again to promote her music.

@ceedum Well if she is really doing well this year, she could be invited coz Kouhaku features artists and songs that are hits for the year. And Charice being Asian, I think is kinda a good inducement to be invited at least as a special guest. but yeah whatever. maybe next year hopefully. I'm actually happy w/ the way Warner is promoting her esp. her ameblo blog. Yes I know Marie & glad she was interviewed. I'm banking on her music show appearances like in Music Station, Music Japan, etc next Feb

@SleepyBoi83 In the context of a Debut Album that did not maintain its consistency in the market due to DF's agenda of marketing to a fan base of 8 - 88, yes she has done tremendous. She has been carrying herself with covers and some original songs. Other singers would have been forgotten. She landed the role on Glee & continues to sing in big gigs in USA based on talent. All this w/ a weak commercial album that produced no follow-up singles. I'd say that is one hell of an accomplishment !

@SleepyBoi83 I know you are not trying to disrespect her which is cool, but I think one has to put her accomplishments in their proper context. Btw: I have a lot of respect for DF. I just think this time he bit off more than he could chew. An album cannot be all over the place. It just won't sell well. You cannot make music for everyone. You have to select your market and develop the right strategies to secure it. Hopefully, they will get it right on the second Album.

@Deathtoautotune2010 I agree with you about DF. There is also the fact that Charice was first known for singing huge diva songs. Then she was in DF's shows whose audience were more mature and not the Top 40 type. Now, they realize Charice can sing almost any type of genre and are trying to make her relevant to her own age group & those who prefer the edgier sound of Katy Perry, Bruno Mars, Ke$ha, etc and not the mellow music DF is known for. I hope her new collaborations hits the right note.

@ceedum Exactly! - I think she will do well so long as they do not pick cheesy material. Charice, has a unique voice quality, in that, it is so full of body, soul and melody yet powerful at the same time. I call it a "4 dimensional voice" - LOL But like you intimated, they need to find the right collaborations. If they can do that, I think she will be huge. As for this song, I think they are on the right track. Nice beat - good lyrics - great song to drive with.... Nice start :)

at oa lang mga ayaw sa autotune jan, be openminded nalang, bahala ng autotune pero sikat like kesha, bep at iba pa. kesa natural voice pero di naman hit. makiuso kasi. pano bonggang sisikat c charice nian kung di makikiuso. basta ako kung san sya sisikat, susuportahan ko. im sure bongga next album nian, kakabugin nian ang mga big stars ngayon. at ngayon kasi, wala ng pakialam ang tao kung autotune o hindi, basta maganda pagkarecord at maganda ang song, hit talaga.
