Thanks so much for posting these. Those panorama shots of the park with Nancy playing in the background really bring back memories, make one wish that it was still (over) 20 years ago. Great work!
Commiskey Park is much better than the one they replaced it with. They shoud have just refurbished the Comiskey . I think Comiskey is better than Wrigley.
This is so great. I saw my 1st Sox game in 1986 thanks to the "perfect attendence" tickets and from that point I was hooked. I don't know if it was the same game, but MY last game at Comiskey was during this same series vs Boston. I'm still ticked that my dad passed up tickets for the last game against Seattle. Anyway, my dad, grandpa, and I would go to 5 or 6 games a year. This video brought back some great memories from those times. Thanks for posting.
Thanks for the vids man... Went to my first game in 85' when I was 4. I dont remember the outcomes of any of the games, just sittin with my Pop watchin Ron Kittle, Cartlon Fisk, and Ozzie. In my young eyes, it was the biggest place in the world. Every year, without fail, my pop still treats me to a game on my bday. Cant wait to start taking my son to the new Comiskey, so one day he'll thank me for introducing him to the greatest team in baseball.
I've been to 18 major league ballparks...some of which aren't around anymore... old comiskey was my favorite of them all. everything about the place was baseball. i wish they used it as a classic park on video games.
This is great footage of a classic ballpark. I have similer video of the Astrodome that I recorded in the final season in 1999. I'm getting it ready to post within the next 3 weeks you should check it out when I do.
Today was Nancy Faust day, in honor of her retirement, at Sox Park. She played "Love is to Wonder" just like she did the day you shot this video. I miss the old park. Seeing all this video is so cool. You did a fantastic job getting great shots of every part of the park. They bombard you with so many ads in the new park it's kind of obnoxious. Anyway you should check out the "Summer of Spud" video on my channel. It's about the 2005 championship season.
@gptvproductions Thanks for the props. The ballpark experience was so much simpler and enjoyable back then. Now, it's all about driving revenue. Screw that! LOL! I'll be sure and check out your video.
@nathandm1917 Thanks for enjoying. At the time, I had no idea I would be able to share this via the internets since Al Gore hadn't invented them yet! :->
@Kanjilearner That does sound very romantic and all, but truth be known, my wife kind of hates baseball.....She's more of the cocktails and food type! To this day, we go to Cardinal games, and she's looking to cut out around the 5th inning! Of course the way the Cards have been playing lately, I can't really blame her! ;>
I've been to many MLB + other pro stadiums. Comiskey was the best for atmosphere. It gave you a great sense of what baseball is & should always be. I'm originally from Brooklyn, NY & fondly remember the Polo Grounds & old Yankee stadium. But Comskey is & will always be best! Simply the best. I hope each of you had a chance to go there.
Thanks for the trip down memory lane. The old ballpark was so much more accessable and fan friendly. The new one is nice but I still miss the old place. Thanks again.
That's Carlton Fisk behind the plate for the White Sox. Really cool vid. Think about all the hall of famers that played on that field over the years. I see the park still had some of the original seats. Well that's it for the American League. The only park left in the American league from the early 20th century is Fenway. I'm a Yankee fan, but I hope Fenway remains standing for many more years.
Great video! I saw Louie Aparicio, the Little White Machine, Melton, Allen, Wood and even got Ron Santo's autograph on opening day in 1974. My dad got a Dick Allen HR ball. He also has a seat and a square of astroturf from the old ballpark. The box seats were to expensive $3.50, so we always sat in the $1.00 grandstand seats. Wow, that upper deck is low. They should have made the new park like the old one, just like the Yankees did. Loved the 2005 season! Never thought I'd see that in my life.
Like everyone has said, thank you so much for posting this. I was 10 when the park was torn down, but saw a lot of games in it during that time (including the final two). This video just brought it all back...andy the clown, the outfield picnic area (which I loved as a kid), that old crowded concourse area, and Nancy at her best. Oh yeah, and that 1990 team was amazing. Could've easily won a World Series that year if it wasn't for the old division alignment and that Conseco/McGuire A's team.
Thanks for posting this...I was only about 3 when the old park was torn down but my parents made sure I got to see a few games there. I don't remember much, but this was like being there again.
Funny story about Andy the Clown: I was afraid of clowns as a kid, and the only time I've ever wanted to leave the park before the game was over was the first time I saw him. I used to say, "I think we should go home now..." and to this day, my family teases me.
Seeing this video makes my eyes well up. I went to a lot of games from 1988 to when the park closed for good a few years later. I remember the smells of stale beer, green seats and yellow rails. the arched windows. I saw the game vs the yankees when both pitchers threw no hitters. I remember walking on the field for Little League games, the crowd chanting "Rickey" when they played the A's one of many times. I remember so much and I'm only 27. These places have a way of sticking with you.
thanks for posting brings back alot of memories I remember going to games in 83 . Tat was a cool place. and the new park was so sterile with everything blue and concrete no character to the place until like '03 when they had the allstar game there. And now the place looks nice with all the renovations and it's awesome to have a '05 WORLD SERIES flag out there too. GOSOX
Thank you for these wonderful memories. This was the first and only game my dad could afford to take me to as a kid. I sat in the RF section that you showed in the Second Video. My dad was a big sox fan he passed Sept 7th 2005 he never got to see them win it all. God bless you dad I love you.... Go Go White Sox!
One of my fondest memories is watching the sox and the big hurt for the first time with my dad. That was in the mid 90s though so I never got to see Old Comiskey. Regardless thank you so much for this video. Your wife is awesome!
I didn't know how emotional it would be to see this... a lot of memories tied to that place. Thanks for taking the time to document and post this piece of history. It is truly appreciated.

Thanks a lot for these videos, man. I never got to see the old Comiskey Park. My mom was pregnant with me when she went to the final game at Comiskey. I'm really glad for these videos because it feels like you are actually there for the people that never got to see it in person.
This was a fabulous tour of the old ballpark. I bet that you never dreamed that your home movie would be available to the entire world as a unique look at the first of the great ballparks, Comiskey`s "Baseball Palace of the World". I took that tour many times in that final year but never took a camera. I am pleased that you had the foresight to film it and thankful that you took the time to share it . Speaking as a lifelong Sox fan and a guy who saw over 500 games there , Thanks again.
Thanks for the props.....you're right, I had no idea there would be an opportunity for Sox fans in places like Guinea to be able access this video! I just knew I wanted to have a record of that place, my first major league game experience.
These videos must live on on youtube forever. I would love to purchase a dvd from you also. Chills at 2:24 for the singing of 'na na naaaa na'. I forgot just how much Nancy Faust played throughout.
I am speachless with these 3 videos, thank you so much for doing this. Attention to detail and shots all around the park were a true treat! Please let me know if you can make a dvd I will buy it off you asap!
I like how you went all around the staduim, showing its quirks, views, and angles from different seats.
