Every one of these kitchen preachers on the web who preach against the rapture of the church routinely say that the word rapture is never used in scripture -- but they are either lying or are ignorant, or both. I completely agree withere being NO Pre Trib Rapture. But how dare you claim that God does not give certain gifts to different people. Surely you've read that some people receive the gift of healing, some the gift of prophecy, the gift of teaching and preaching. Well one of the gifts God gives, (to some, not all) is the gift of speaking in tongues. It's not something you do with a audience. It's a way to pray more deeply to God.

There are 9 events spoken of by Jesus that will occur "Immediately After the tribulation of Those Days" in Matthew 24: 29-31. The Last two events are in Matthew 24: 31. And he shall send his Angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other. This Is The Rapture like it or not.

The Bible doesn't say "Rapture" per se', But, it does speak of the "Carrying Away"; In the Greek it uses the words "Harpodzo" or "Anistasis", But the same is still derived in the Latin, "Rapturos".

@Terri3210 what other events? At the time of the rapture, God gives the command. The arch angel Michael then repeats the command, and the trumpet sounds. Dead in christ rise first (all the dead beleivers since the day of pentecost. The "church" bride of christ, which is all beleivers who have the holy spirit, which was given at Pentecost and on after the resurrection of Christ). Then living believers rise next and meet together the dead in christ in the air to be forever with Christ.

The gospel has reached nearly all nations. The Church has witnessed to the world. What you need to understand is that believers have suffered much tribulation but won't suffer Gods wrath. The tribulation beginning in Rev 4 is of God. It is to complete the 70th week of desolation. The man of sin has his time to rule, the Jews continue to seek salvation by works rejecting Jesus. The temple is desecrated, the armies attack Jerusalem, Christ and us comes to put down their armies etc.
I remember one verse so clearly and it goes something like this, "I will send a great deception that if it were possible even the elect would be decieved.." Sound familiar?

why was a "rapture" never taught/spoken of untill around the 1850's? i dont know of any reference to it before then. Also the seals in Rev etc point to no rapture i have heard.

Does Tribulation sound like and average day? People are busy with parties, weddings, construction, planting crops or gardens; this does not sound like the Tribulation period.

After chapter 3 there is no more mention of the church. Gone! Then in chapter 4 a door standing open in heaven and a picture of God's throne and talk of seals and such. Very true. Pre-tribers, read Rev 20:4-6. This describes those in the first resurrection who were beheaded for their testimony and not worshipping the beast or his image. Jesus says these are of the FIRST resurrection. The first resurrection obviously takes place AFTER tribulation. 1Thess 4:16 says the dead are taken first, so if the dead are taken before the living, why is there among the dead those who were killed during the tribulation? Like it or not people, the rapture is false.

"Dead in Christ" means the soul as in your spirit. Physical bodies can't raptured and heaven is for spirits only. Your spirit is your glorified body. The only things are left behind is your empty physical shell instead of the disappearance of millions of people, millions of empty physical shells will be lying on the ground in cities, in your house, in Wal-Marts, etc.
But the Bible doesn't say our spirits will be taken out of our bodies, it says aor bodies will be changed from flesh to spirit. Did Christ leave behind a body?
Romans 8:11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.

Mortal bodies can't be taken up to heaven. Adam and Eve were in spirit in Genesis, when sin came they became mortal. The term "Glorified body" means your soul. When you accept Christ your soul is glorified not your mortal body. Christ may appear in any form but he's still in spirit after his crucifixion. Heaven is for souls only.

Remember the bible says that the only ones that won't be deceived are those written in the lamb's book of life. Curious though, look at all the sin rampant in the world and the christian population is barely doing anything about it. They look the other way.

Every one of these kitchen preachers on the web who preach against the rapture of the church routinely say that the word rapture is never used in scripture -- but they are either lying or are ignorant, or both. The word rapture is used plainly in scripture, and they haven't found it because they don't speak Greek. Whose fault is that? The word is HARPAZO. Case closed.

Then those of us who are alive are gathered together with them in the clouds. The dead are already in heaven, BUT THEY DON'T HAVE THEIR SPIRITUAL BODIES! None of the tribulation saints get spiritual bodies until after a 1000 years, after the millineum is over.

@agaspard3 Right on, and true. There is a fantastic book written by Arnold Fruchtenbaum, "The footsteps of the bible." He give SOUND DOCTRINE and points out many scriptures to prove there is indeed a rapture of the believers. "the bride of Christ". The rapture is iminent.

I completely agree withere being NO Pre Trib Rapture. But how dare you claim that God does not give certain gifts to different people. Surely you've read that some people receive the gift of healing, some the gift of prophecy, the gift of teaching and preaching. Well one of the gifts God gives, (to some, not all) is the gift of speaking in tongues. It's not something you do with a audience. It's a way to pray more deeply to God.

1st Thess 4:15 say this.....in so many words..... "Jesus told us to tell you. Don't believe for a second that anyone alive will meet with the Lord before the dead are raised first."
How many times does the Bible have to say "AND THE DEAD SHALL BE RAISED FIRST" before people will believe it?
There is no rapture at all, only a GATHERING.

@twocentsin2 Because the point I was making is.. There is no PRE trip Rapture. Pre trib Rapture believers always leave out 1st Thess 4:15 and only quote 1st Thess 4:16-17 as their proof that there is a "PRE" trib rapture.
So what do you believe? Do you believe there is a Rapture/Gathering of the dead first, then the living BEFORE the Great Tribulation? The Bible says NO in 1st Thess 4:15.

The Bible says over and over and over again, that there is only one gathering/rapture, and it is at the LAST TRUMP, which is at the END of the Tribulation. The bible was written by Jews, originally in Aramaic, then translated into Greek, The original word for rapture is called "Harpazo" go look it up on google. It means to "be caught up, snatched away". There are 9 events spoken of by Jesus that will occur "Immediately After the tribulation of Those Days" in Matthew 24: 29-31. The Last two events are in Matthew 24: 31. The Bible doesn't say "Rapture" per se', But, it does speak of the "Carrying Away"; In the Greek it uses the words "Harpodzo" or "Anistasis", But the same is still derived in the Latin, "Rapturos".

Dead in christ rise first (all the dead beleivers since the day of pentecost. The "church" bride of christ, which is all beleivers who have the holy spirit, which was given at Pentecost and on after the resurrection of Christ). Then living believers rise next and meet together the dead in christ in the air to be forever with Christ.

The gospel has reached nearly all nations. The Church has witnessed to the world. What you need to understand is that believers have suffered much tribulation but won't suffer Gods wrath. The tribulation beginning in Rev 4 is of God. It is to complete the 70th week of desolation. The man of sin has his time to rule, the Jews continue to seek salvation by works rejecting Jesus. The temple is desecrated, the armies attack Jerusalem, Christ and us comes to put down their armies etc.

So..... at the end of the Trib...When Jesus returns..(and takes up his own at that time) ..Who will be left to populate the Earth to start the Millenium ?

Compare to 2 Peter 3:15-16.
"with the tongues of men and of angels" is a reference to levels of understanding (verse 2). It does not say that the angles' language sounds like turkey gobble.

Jeremiah was called a traitor (Jer 37:13), and all he did was deliver the word of the Lord.
It should be no wonder, therefore, that the apostles and the people would be accused of drunkenness for speaking "the wonderful works of God." (Matt. 5:12. 2 Pet 3:2).

PW, your scriptures have no relavence whatsoever. i think u lack the understanding needed to properly utilize the epistles. 1 Cor is about Spiritual gifts. u assume way to much trying to connect your verses.

O yes, I do understand the "spiritual gifts". Awesome! Praise God for this wonderful Word, God's Word (the Bible). They are the ability to see the "spiritual" meanings in Paul's letters. It's proof to me that he did see things "That man can not utter".

And the bible is not God's Word. It is a, at places, poorly translated attempt at God's word. A lexicon is essential I beleive.

The trib is about Satan and Israel. Israel has been blinded for her disobedience. Now she will only remain as a remnant at the end during amageddon. A number of Israels can and r in the church by the new birth. But some are so determined to offer their own righteousness through the law that has been fulfilled by Jesus while others don't concern themselves. God will protect them for a while, new believers will be the object of Satans anger. I'll be changed with immortality, the dream come true:)

Pharoah couldn't destroy Gods people. God saved Noah, Lot & Enoch was no more. The gospel's been preached & the man of sin is held back by the Holy Spirit which indwells the Church. The Church will be taken to the wedding feast. The blood of martyrs has fertilized the growth of the church & now the foundations of righteousness r broken. So unbelievers will reap because of their harvest. The Chruch is not appointed to God's wrath. Some will not taste death. Angels will preach during the N.W.O.

Ye must be born again. The church is the body of Christ. The 2nd & 3rd chapters r a critique on the conditions of the various localized bodies, warning to not leave our first love, b faithful, repent of evil, to hold fast, remain watchful & being lukewarm is not acceptable etc. The church is universal & across ages. The field is the heart, the seed is the word, the new birth is the blossom where one can now see the truth. From there one endures to the end & goes home 2 put on immortality.

After chapter 3 there is no more mention of the church. Gone! Then in chapter 4 a door standing open in heaven and a picture of God's throne and talk of seals and such. God died for his bride his father is giving him. We r & have been witnessing in our fragile humanity. We all don't have to die physically to make the point Jesus did that and we are pointing to Him. He is the only Saviour. We are crucified with him as we overcome the sway of our fleshly hearts. We're living sacrifices.

@chariotride 144,000 converted Jews will do the preaching, and will win many souls to heaven. the two witness' will also win many. Why the Jews? Because for example, are spread out throughout the world, and many speak multiple languages. God is practical.

Very true. Pre-tribers, read Rev 20:4-6. This describes those in the first resurrection who were beheaded for their testimony and not worshipping the beast or his image. Jesus says these are of the FIRST resurrection. The first resurrection obviously takes place AFTER tribulation. 1Thess 4:16 says the dead are taken first, so if the dead are taken before the living, why is there among the dead those who were killed during the tribulation? Like it or not people, the rapture is false.

I always figured that was the case (we returned to dust awaiting the resurection), since that's what happened to jesus(yet jesus didn't see corruption), and didn't that happen to adam (return to dust). Didn't peter say the same about King David, that he was still dead and buried, not yet risen, and that what david was talking about in psalms was Christ rising, not himself? Please correct me if I'm wrong, I'm kind of new to this.....

"Dead in Christ" means the soul as in your spirit. Physical bodies can't raptured and heaven is for spirits only. Your spirit is your glorified body. The only things are left behind is your empty physical shell instead of the disappearance of millions of people, millions of empty physical shells will be lying on the ground in cities, in your house, in Wal-Marts, etc.

But the Bible doesn't say our spirits will be taken out of our bodies, it says aor bodies will be changed from flesh to spirit. Did Christ leave behind a body?
Romans 8:11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.

Mortal bodies can't be taken up to heaven. Adam and Eve were in spirit in Genesis, when sin came they became mortal. The term "Glorified body" means your soul. When you accept Christ your soul is glorified not your mortal body. Christ may appear in any form but he's still in spirit after his crucifixion. Heaven is for souls only.
