Ya, from my time in the military I can tell you that if you don't want to follow an order for whatever reason, the best way to resist that order is to start making mistakes while appearing to try to do whatever it is. For example a lot of soldiers, especially green ones, often fire to miss the enemy rather than hit. That happened a lot in WW2 supposedly. That's sort of a basic human rebellion to being told to kill another person.

I'm lucky. I never had to kill anyone during my time in the army.
