  • stevie nicks is so high and pissed off in this interview

  • @guitaneman --They edited out the part where she had Lindsey in a headlock...

  • Comment removed

  • stevie does not look happy...

  • ridiculously sweet she had her father introduce her for a month.

  • Stevie's Hair fucking Rules...........

  • they were meant to sing together<3 too bad they didnt stay together:(

  • Lindsey had a problem hitting women--read his ex girlfriend ( Carol Ann Harris) book Storms..he's a Jekyll and Hyde bastard

  • Comment removed

  • @HighMindedLunacy Omg i know!!!! I couldn't believe it when i read it!!!!

  • @HighMindedLunacy yeah I've never heard anything about that but I have heard that Carol Ann Harris was coked out of her mind the entire relationship and if you get two addicts together I guess anything's possible

  • lol @ stevie's face at 2:55

  • Stevie looks so serious, there is heat under the surface

  • Comment removed

  • Even at this point lindsey still hasnt let her go ;)

  • I love these guys but Stevie is to serious all the time. She needs to lighten up and show that beautiful face with a smile on it.

  • @skipper8257

See how you do on the break up of a lifetime skipper. lol

  • she is the amazing beautiful woman.

  • The Most Awesome duo the World has ever known with the pure perspective of the Gratification of Hearing Them Live....

  • Very talented guys. I saw them in 1976 here in Austin at Sunday Break festival and Stevie was so stoned by the time they took the stage, I don't know how she sang but she did a great job. If she didn't, then I was the one who was stoned which could very well be the case.

  • Everyone quit dissing Stevie, and quit dicing Lindsey, both of them are extremely talented and they both needed help from each other to make their band so great and successful. Jump back.

  • This video looks like it was done before Lindsey left the group in 1987 before touring what would be the" Tango in the Night Tour" envolving him, but he decided to leave the group, and Stevie Nicks was soooo pisssed!!! she wanted to kill him!!

  • stevie sounded very nasal-y here...but it might be the age of the clip...

  • So, this is where "Kramer" got his hair style from!

  • Her hair -3

  • Love them. Wish they had babies ! Think how beautiful and talented that kid would be!

  • My teacher, soul mentor por vida (for life). STEVIE I read between the lines you understand. Thank You for your wisdom. MOONSTAR02

  • I love how the interviewer has to laugh and smile at everything they say probably to compensate because the two of them are so serious.

  • Whoever would post on any page and talk down Stevie Nicks, must be very dumb, everyone knows she was and still is awesome !!! People today, don't know about these bands of the 70's and the 60's, and also have no respect or manners. Keep your negative comments to your own negative world. FLEETWOOD MAC RULES!!!

  • Big Hair!!!!!!!!

  • Lindsey Buckingham's solo career is firecracker compared to Stevie's Atom bomb. His production work on Say You Will destroyed the album. Thankfully guys like Richard Dashut, Ken Caillat, Richard Dashut were the producers behind the White Album, Rumours and Tusk because Linds production on Mirage and Tango is syrupy crap. Amazing guitar player, smart guy, etc. & he used coke just like she did. Biggest song on Tusk was Sara, which he had no part of. Stevie played piano uncredited on the album.

  • @rickdunn101 You are seriously undermining Lindsey's role in the band. Those above-mentioned men all stated that it was Lindsey who spear-headed the production and sound of those albums, especially "Rumours" and "Tusk." His work on Stevie's song Gypsy was spic. The demo sounded NOTHING like it, thanks to LB. He is far more than just an amazing guitarist and smart guy- he is a genius. His producing/arranging skills have more to do with the Fleetwood Mac sound than anything else.

  • @rickdunn101

Umm, that's not true...the piano part, nor the claim that Buckingham had "no part of" Sara. He arranged the entire song, and taught Christine the basic chord progression, telling her to use the tack piano. Buckingham had a grand hand in the production of the records, and I admire him not only for his innovation, but his incredible eloquence in interviews. R&R needs more people like him.

  • Stevie was giving Lindsey the stank eye @ 2:54.. LMAO

  • lindsey bono connection?

  • What is up with all this Stevie hating!? Lindsey has good songs (I think he and Stevie are on the same level there) and can really play guitar, but Stevie's singing is on a much higher lever. She's truly special.

  • An egomaniac and a druggie whore. Descriptions interchangeable.

  • they complement each other ... they both are great musicians !!!!

  • It's about the work...and the legacy of leaving behind the Heart and soul of being alive...and DEEPLY feeling the Joy of what a Band can do when a SONG truly CONNECTS with the soul and truth of others...THIS BAND will always be leaders in that KIND OF WORK...and Stevie Nicks is a a ONE OF A KIND... She has a HEART OF GOLD... Blessings to all Bands that Strive to create this Kind of music...it touches our souls in ways NOTHING ELSE CAN...

    Sincerely,

    Sirtony

  • Lindsey is a great guitar player but he's also full of crap.

  • Does anybody know what guitar Lindsey is playing? He is playing the same small one in Sweet Little Lies.... please help! I want it!

  • What was the deal with lindsey and the eye makeup at this time?Strange......

  • Yup, she's giving him the death stare...lol

  • Dennis and Dee: Rock Stars

  • some INTERESTING comments to say the least,SEems like a Dream its got Me Hypnotized...... rok on peeps luv mike,

  • @mikeymach5 good one! reference to "hypnotized" harkens back to the reality that Fleetwood Mac's early days with Bob Welch were not just outstanding, but paved the way for their later greatness.

  • lindsey and stevie should've had a couple kids. they probably would've been great looking kids!!

  • @dettigs i completely agree plus they would have been great musicians : )

  • @dettigs I was thinking the same exact thing a few minutes ago while watching another video :)

  • @dettigs and they would be very good parents ;)

  • @dettigs great singers too.

  • @dettigs Those kids might have ended drug addicts or having long years of therapy:(

  • @turockandar

Might of? Would of been a guarantee. Stevie played it smart, and still does. That is rare in these days

  • @dettigs

So weird seeing Lindsey with the Vanilla Ice hair? It was mutual support in that relationship now no matter what now. lol Stevie's Dad showed up on stage. Awkward for a kid!

  • @Johnny4Stevie i guess vanilla ice had lindsey buckingham hair since vanilla ice wouldn't be heard of until 3-4 years after this interview. yikes. stop while you're behind.

  • @dettigs

    Yikes. Stop while you're behind

  • Wow....I love how the comments below live up so well to the YouTube stereotypical asshole parade.....

Great album - Great musicians - Great people I'm sure. Would love to meet them and get to know them on a more personal level.

  • In fairness if Stevie looks awkward it may have something to do with her having very little involvement in the recording of Tango in the Night. Wasn't she only there for 10 days out of the 10 months it took to record it? She was at the Betty Ford clinic for most of that time. I don't think she was at her best on this album but 'Welcome To The Room Sara' has some of the most heartbreaking lyrics I've ever heard. This was very much Lindsey's 'baby' though and still sounds amazing today.

  • Totally looks like Stevie wants to deck him LOL

  • Is it me or does Lindsey look like Buster Poindexter?

  • @funkybruiser Exactly! He looks much better now with relaxed and shorter hairstyle. Lindsay had his hair a good six inches high at one point. He finally came to his senses somewhere around the mid 90s. Buster (David Johanson) was wearing the hairstyle as a joke. It was part of the character. Poor Lindsey thought it looked cool

  • God, they look like they just stepped off a Dynasty set. People like to romanticize the 80s, believing it was this great period for music, art and culture in general. They forget about the outfits, the superficial shows, AIDS, the corny and embarrassing trends, the cheesy pop art and artistic low points for most classic rock bands. I like them both but they look ridiculous here. Too artificial and coiffed

  • @ritter89 shut the fuck up.

  • @thelurker25 Fuck you too, asshole. I hit a nerve? Sure seems like it. Sorry that your insecure ass followed the dopey trends of the 80s (or any other decade for that matter). Shop in some better quality stores and stop copying other people and perhaps you won't feel regret in the future. You're probably wearing something now that you'll find appalling by 2012, you lame-ass bandwagon jumper. Don't you get it? Trends are for insecure suckers who need to "fit in"

  • @ritter89 no, I think I hit a nerve. :-)

  • @ritter89 Give me a break. I don't know how bloody old you are but everyone looks back with a sense of irony or incredulation in reference to clothes and hair and for each time period, everyone loves the style at the moment it's trendy and then trashes it lots of times later. They don't look ridiculous, what they look like is trendy for the time period...what's wrong with that?

  • @funkybruiser I'm bloody 40 so I clearly recall these atrocious fashion trends. Trends are for hipsters and other doofuses who have no sense of personal style or identity. I've never followed trends so I never look back on my clothing choices and hair styles with horror and regret. . Even as a teen, I realized that parachute pants, neon colored socks, garish headbands, spandex and the rest of the hideous "style" that was on display would no doubt be mocked by future generations.

  • @ritter89 lol you're funny. Who cares anyway? These are two talented people who look like most others did during this time period. I never thought anything about it then because that's how most people looked. Of course there are always trends that are not accepted by future generations. Who the hell cares? Are you the trend police?

  • @ritter89 LOL Yeah, GREAT analysis of the 80s. There are NO celebs wearing weird outfits now (like ones made out of meat), none of the TV shows are superficial anymore (like Friends, Simpsons, Hannah Montana, Dancing With The Stars), AIDS is gone now, there aren't ANY corny or embarrassing trends (don't even get me started on this one), and there definitely isn't any cheesy pop art out there (like Miley Cyrus and Justin Beaver). LOL Congrats. You really nailed that one.

  • It's funny and interesting that shortly after this interview they attacked each other LOL although you could already see the tension between them.

  • Stevie looks pissed when he says musical soap opera!

  • @NewAppleNews i absolutely agree, it's just like this flashing sign above his head that says "Glare!" cause she is glaring at him and he's like totally ignoring it

  • They hated each other at this time.

  • At 1.24 Lindsey seems almost starting to cry and Stevie starts giving a political correct answer.

  • @annib00 yes. yes. i know what you mean.

  • she has such a dry sense of humor...aww im in love

  • "get that schizophrenic bitch out of this house"

  • @thelurker25 I think it was "get that schizophrenic bitch out of my life"

  • @njova25 i just went by what was said on wikipedia.

  • @thelurker25 Oh well I read that in Mick's autobiography anyways its basically the same thing.

  • 3am pancake waitress, yes, I agree, she's a tough cookie

  • HMMMM....IS THAT SO. WHAT YOU DONT SEEM TO UNDERSTAND IS THAT ALL THE LYRICS AND PRODUCTION FROM STEVIE NICKS HIT SONGS WERE DONE BY LINDSAY. AS WELL, LINDSAY ADMITS SHE DOESNT LIKE INTERVIEWS,,,SHE CONSIDERS HERSELF SHY. HE IS A PHENOMENAL MAN.

  • She tells the truth, he bs's...

    :o)

  • bye dad............. lmao

  • @GraceMcVie no way

  • Look at the way Stevie glares at Lindsey when he refers to their working relationship as a "musical soap opera". LOL

  • @corduroy1nfatuation stabbing him with her eyes....i wouldn't wanna get on the wrong side of Stevie

  • Not quite true

  • Stevie Nicks smoked Buckingham's rear end, is he a household name? Nope. She was successful with him and shed of him. Solo. He was and never has been anything without her. Men hate strong women. She is the success he is the tag along, the comment I just read about Stevie Nicks being some pancake house waitress? Please.

Her talent just outshown Buckingham's to such an extent it is so evident, where the heck is Buckingham now? Has he ever had anything solo that was successful, again, nope.

  • @kellyemeekhouston I don't agree at all with that assessment. You are definitely understating Lindsey's input as an arranger and producer, apart from his amazig guitar skills.

Best example: when Lindsey left FM before the Tango in the Night tour the band recruited 2 guitarists to fill the gap! They needed 2, and they didn't last long.

Ok, Stevie, as a solo artist, had way more succes, but that doesn't mean that she has more talent than Lindsey has. I personally think it's the other way around.

  • @Fluidvirgo I agree with you 100%. Stevie Nicks is cool but she is nowhere near as talented as Lindsey Buckingham. I guess together they were absolutely magical but on his own Lindsey is a force. I have seen him live numerous times and he's one of the greatest...amazing.

  • @Fluidvirgo true Lindsey Buckingham isn't about the top 40 sound generally. It took me till I was 40 to look at him as anything more than "that guy that sang in Fleetwood Mac" the guy is mad talented

  • wow, I always thought he was british. What terrible parents naming thier kid Lindsay with the last name Buckingham! For shame.

  • @annib00

    LOL, that's it !

  • how about those Iran-Contra hearings?? more important than these 2

  • Tensions were running at an all time high...and this was literally how the cow broke the camels back. Once "Tango" was completed, Lindsay was through with FM, and he wouldn't be touring. The only time this 5 band lineup would reunite again was for BC's inauguration in 1993 and for 1997's The Dance.

  • hate the song i like there really old stuff

  • @Hi1mSal "Big Love" actually was a song that found it's way into the nightclubs where the teeny boppers danced if I'm not mistaking...which is really strange considering FM was always Californian rock...and before that a British Blues band.

  • I'm just not sure about Stevie, as an artist fantastic and such a unique sound but she always seems to come across a little arrogant....perhaps! I want to like her so much though. Lindsey however, I don't need any convincing.

  • Angelic

  • God, he was handsome.

  • Stevie is so beautiful! and will they ever just get back together!

  • @NikitaMEO It's been like almost 35 years honey; I don't think it's gonna happen. LOL

  • @tall32guy

    And he's married w/ kids....

  • @tall32guy yeah he's just too content with his wife and kids now. He and Stevie can travel all over the world and sing about their personal, and professional relationships but as for them being the young ill-fated couple they once were. I agree I don't think so. You really can't go that far back sometimes. It's important to go forward. We're a lot different in our 60's than our 20's.

  • Lindsey has Kramer hair.

  • @Chrisdrumz Yes, he does indeed. He looks almost like an android

  • ahaha that look they exchange at 1:24 is hilarious. u can tell hes pissed and stevie kind of hesittes and then starts to ease what shes going to say.. lol

  • This was a pretty rough time for Fleetwood Mac. Lindsey left the band before they toured for Tango in The Night- and presumably soon after this interview.

  • @logyscott he left them in tatters with such little warning. So Mick had to scramble and get a couple players to sing and play Lindsay's parts for that Tango duo. It made for world news.

  • Great questions by the interviewer.

  • This is the basis of Western Civilization.

  • That had to be 1987, Stevie looks damn hot with that hair style, I wish women would start wearing their hair like that again, some people think big hair on women looks silly, but some people think its sexy, I would've been 11 yrs old when this interview was made, I miss the 80s

  • Love Lindsey's voice on this!!

  • I dig his Kramer-like hair-do.

  • he loos like a girl..

  • thought Lindsey has blue eyes but here they look hazel?

  • now u think differently? make up youre mind

  • Comment removed

  • i was talking to the butcher not the block

  • I love the band but they both look completely out of it here.

  • stevie looks stoned out of her head, and i think lyndsey is a bit big headed and but who wouldnt be, i think he is an incredible guitar player..

  • @geelad6969 It is to my knowledge that Stevie cleaned up from the BF clinic late 86/early 87 era(her Rock A Little tour was cut short by a demand to go to rehab, she was facing possible death and it showed in her shows) Tango, maybe it was recorded a little whenever Stevie had little spare time from her Rock tour and around the rehab. But I'm guessing she's in her early stages of cleanness so maybe the forlorn drug look is still there.

  • see, Lindsey is dominating the interview. And i'm sure Stevie is thinking, "oh, that's okay, i just had a NUMBER ONE SOLO ALBUM and I was the one WHO BROKE UP WITH YOU, but go ahead just keep talking.....give me a break...."

  • @griftlovebohonine

Ya, never mind the fact Stevie wouldn't have had her break without Lindsey - and not only did she break up with him, she broke up some marriages. If the media had been THEN as they are NOW, she may not be as beloved as she is. Some of her drunk and coked up nights weren't so pretty.

  • @see4ward oh yes. She was a big factor in destroying Mick's marriage to Jenny Boyd(Pattie Boyd's sister, a british 60's model, and no stranger to being a rock wife herself(George Harrison and Eric Clapton) and there was tension between her and friend at the time Sara(who Mick dated after their own relationship cooled down) and what got a "betrayed" Stevie to write "Sara" off tusk...even though Mick was married in the first place when Stevie took up with him

  • @see4ward and yes when Mick invited Lindsay to join the 1975 lineup for Fleetwood Mac, Lindsay ask that Stevie join as a package deal or he wouldn't accept the offer. Mick grinded his teeth and agreed.

  • @imachildofthe80s8089

You've done a great job with your research. It looks as though you've even managed to weed out fact from fiction.

    Rare these days~ ;-)

  • Lindsay was the greater creative force in writing the music,,,,

  • @griftlovebohonine oh ppplllleeeaassse!

  • @griftlovebohonine -- Stevie wouldn't exist without this guy - he took her poems and made them into something - she's yet to do anything as successful without him.

  • Stevie looks as though she is trying to hold back from hauling off and hitting Lindsey. i love them both, though. two very gifted musicians. my favorite album is Tusk.

  • @griftlovebohonine LOL Lindsay and Stevie are so much like my current bf and I, he says something I really can't stand and gets on my nerves I just stare at him and bite my lip. That look alone indicates to him that I am not happy at all and holding back some anger that I may regret if I choose to physically!

  • Lindsey's lucky that looks don't kill!

  • How funny is his twitch out when stevie talks about his work ethic. Considering she was only there for a total of 2 weeks. He's obviously not happy jan!

  • Looking at this interview...Don't think i've ever seen Stevie smile. She's so beautiful she really doesn't have to but hadn't realized i've hardly ever saw her smile.

  • I am devastated to knoe what I always knew---- Lindsey was an egotistical PRICK. Read Carol Ann's book. Lindsey is to obvious that he was cruel. I say that growing up around manipulative PRICKS!!!

  • Agreed , i just finished the book too. In fairness , you can't expect much else from rock and rollers

and also Lindsey is a Libra , they sometimes get out of balance and express hate instead of love .

  • @redlion83 you read that book too? My god my heart broke for Carol Ann. As much as she loved him too, she had to get the hell away from him. Especially after the cruel way he had handled her miscarriage.(an insensitive prick YES!) and then to write "Go Insane" about her(creepy lyrics and music) what a childish attack(just as he'd done 7 years before with "Go Your own way" on Stevie)

  • theyve known each othe for most of their lives, and that must count for something. i hope they can be good friends now or in the future

  • If you're talking about Lindsey and Stevie I think they were together for 6yrs. from 70-76 although there have been rumors that they were together on/off for several years after the break up.

  • Watched a documentary the other night... Stevie said they'd been together from '66 - '77. I wonder how long after this interview Lindsay had his wobble.... and Stevie attacked him. Lol.

John McVie said "I think you better leave" to Lindsay... and he left.

    McVie:

"But what I meant was... leave the room!"

    classic lol.

  • Who knows how long they've been together maybe we'll get the true story one day.

  • yeah me too...great doc. LOVE THIS BAND SO MUCH. i'm 29n and have just realised how amazing they were.

  • they met in high school they joined fleetwood mac in 1975 while they were a couple watch behind the music of stevie or fleetwood mac i don't remember when the breakup happened.

  • your totally correct and s evie started it when she wrote gypsy

  • @APRIL62318 It was 1976 when both the Buckingham/Nicks union and the McVie marriage fractured.(before the recording of Rumours with plenty of hot and steamed material)So I'm guessing perhaps joining Mac and getting the 1975 album and touring did great for their careers(and Mac's new line of music and location, but it also ruined them personally) They found their pots of gold, just didn't share them altogether.

  • they met in high school before dating so they have been together their whole lives

  • @njova25 no no I think after it was over, it was over. Though being in the same band and touring constantly and the constant fights and misguided anger, it was as if they still hadn't. They say there's a thin line between love and hate...they set out to find fame and fortune and they did...but lost each other in the process.

  • @imachildofthe80s8089

Have you had the chance to see the concert where Lindsey was mimicking Stevie so badly (there were several but this one was the most obvious...I think it was RedRock)- I was halfway wishing they would stop the show. If you haven't seen it, I'll try to get a copy for you.

  • @see4ward

I have always heard of that but have never seen and for some morbid reason I really want to see it even though I am a big Stevie fan and not a fan of LB at all. Let me know if U have it PLZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!

  • @belldonna81

Thank you! Stevie WAS Fleetwood Mac, what has Lindsey ever done without her? Nothing.

  • @kellyemeekhouston LOL What has Lindsey ever done without her?? Is that a joke? I guess you mean besides giving Stevie her first rock band job, getting her into Fleetwood Mac years later, producing her solo album, pretty much single-handedly writing, performing and producing the Tango In The Night album, and agreeing to perform the 1993 Inauguration so Stevie could meet President Clinton(she doesn't sing lead on Dont Stop - Lindsey does)? Nothing against Stevie, but give credit where it's due

  • @user2525able Yeah, that Clinton inauuguration crap almost had me vowing to never listen to their music again. But the music eventually won out. Most musicians are morons politically anyway.

  • How long were they together for?

  • During the interview, Lindsey chews on his lip and laughs at odd times. He is uncomfortable with what is going on. Plus Stevie looks like she wants to deck him.

  • No shit! ha ha!

  • I think they were pretty mad at each other at the time... just after this he attacked her then left the band

  • my mistake.... she attacked him first lol..then he did

  • This is my favorite hairstyle too! : )

  • interesting that a few months after this interview Lindsey quit the band, probably a good thing in the long run. They still rocked at MSG this year.

  • this band went through amazing changes and got through it. Its a lesson for all of us to see what they did. They are incredible!

  • What a beautiful couple they made! Can't believe its been over 25 years ago!

  • Stevie's hair is perfect i love it

  • It seems to always be.

  • It's my favourite hairstyle she's ever had too. :))
