My dad beat me and my sister for over 20 years, my mom divorced him in 1989. We still had to spend every other weekend with him and he would fly off the handle on the smallest things. I finally got fed up with him after he threw me across the room because I talked back to him when I was 20, haven't said more than 2 words to him since.
