  • if only math was still this easy.....

  • good... very helping....... thumbs up:)))))))))

  • 5:39 turn on captions : just like life this is also an irrational number

  • U The Man....!!!!

  • i have a really big penis and i have a ps3

  • Thanks a lot 5*******

  • I wonder if certain fractions like 66/89 when trying to convert to a decimal would have infinate random digits with no repeating pattern which in a way would make it an irrational number but can be written as a fraction because it started out as a fraction? 66/89 = .74157303370786516853932584269663 etc... I don't see an end or a pattern. Maybe there is one though if you go long enough. I don't know.

  • I've learnt more from you in 7 mins 24 secs , than from my maths teacher over 3 weeks .

    THANKS YOU SO MUCH , YOU'RE A LEGEND . <3

  • thanks so much i'm not confused anymore on rational and irrational thanks again

  • What about negative numbers???

  • Deserves more than one thumb up. It was great

  • soo helpful! thanks!

  • The song is Little Spanish Flea

  • Great stuff. Showed this to my Algebra classes. What is the music title played at the beginning and end of the video. I love that theme song...

  • thank you! XD

  • Thanks a lot!

  • OMG THANKS! MY TEACHER DOESNT EXPLAIN THIS GOOD! :D

  • great video thanks a lot, i didnt get this at all but now youve explained it in a simple way i get it. :)

  • Great video. I like how I don't have to watch you write everything out. Better audio would be nice, but it's not bad. I have to use some of your videos because my online college class doesn't always have the best videos. I appreciate what y'all are doing and lunamath. Thank you very much.

  • amazing!

  • Thanks! Its very helpful for me!!

  • gayyy

  • Thanks a bunch, this was really helpful and I was able to make a perfect score on my test about Rational and Irrational numbers :)

  • Thanks! This was very thorough. I wish my textbook could have been this clear.

  • omg this is so helpful thank u soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo... much!! i have a test on this nxt week n i was lyk soo lost but u saved me thanks!!

  • This helped me alot :)

  • Youtube>tutoring lab

  • how did you get the answer in 3:19???please someone explain it too me..i stop studyng for 3half years...now im having a hard time..

  • Must say GREAT,GREAT explanation of Rational and irrational numbers. This is something I never really understood until I watched your video. Much better than most of the teachers i have seen trying to explain this. Awesome job and keep the helpful videos coming. DOUBLE LIKE!

  • 5.00037e+007 = 50,003,700 in calculator-speak (move the decimal 7 places to the right)

  • OMG I NOW UNDERSTAND THISS !!

  • Thanks for the help! I was so confuse when the teacher was trying to explanin what ratioal and irrational means! I guess she was trying to explain it by saying irrational are crazy numbers, that looks scary, which just makes me confuse. Anyway thanks for the help

  • my math teacher made me look at this video. (i watched it again and again! :DDD) (note to teacher: I already knew it Mr. freese)

  • just used you for my math hw. thanks

  • @ROFLMAOjenkins me too lol :)

  • THANK YOU U HELP ME ON MY MATH TEST THANK YOU !!!!!

  • I shat myself when mr math teacher was explaining this, he sucks

  • Thank you so much. I swear my algebra teacher is just not good at explaining this. She has to make it so complicated. *sigh* Anyway, thanks again.

  • Way better than my college professor

  • clearly explained, thanks!

  • Excellent video, helped me a lot. Thank you very much you have a great teaching style. Far better than my teachers.

  • Well said. Helped me a lot in understanding rational and irrational. Thanks!!!!!

  • 3 + 26/100 is equal to 326/100. The goal is to verify that the value can be written as a fraction, that's why we used the improper fraction instead of the mixed number.

  • @lunamath what does 5.00037e+007=?

  • you did the one with 3.26 wrong.. it should be converted to 3 26/100 and then simplified to 3 13/50

  • when you did problem 3.26 i thought the 3 stays as a whole number and it would be converted to 3 26/100 then reduced to 3 13/50.

  • thx a lot :)

  • I also wanted to mention (aside from my previous post) that this is a very good explanation! Subscribed.

  • How does Ir=0? I'd like some sources, a book perhaps? If Rational is something and Ir is nothing, I hope that you are aware that 1+0=1. And how can one have 22 of 7? Are you sure there is enough time for that? And please do not get all Feynman on me, I like to learn.

  • Nice thank you

  • Thank you! You are better than my teacher! :) thanks alot! GOD BLESS!

  • no, no, no. 21/7 is not equal to Pi. 21/7 = 3. A common APPROXIMATION of Pi is 22/7, but this is NOT exactly Pi. In fact, it is only accurate to 2 decimal places. We can approximate the value of Pi with 3, 3.14, 22/7, 3.1415927, but we can NEVER write down the exact value because it is an unending decimal.

  • song = Little Spanish Flea

  • 3.141592654358979323846 :)

  • Song name PLEASE?

  • Thanks. I understand it more full than before. :)

  • thnx alot :)

  • thanks so much! this really helped! (:

  • Thank you ! You really explained it well, better than my math teacher :)

  • thank you

  • Thanks I am preparing for my Finals :D

  • thankkkkkkkkkkkk youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu uuu i can finaly finish accelurated math practice

  • thank u sssssssssssoooo much now iunderstand the differrent between each one

  • Thanks!

This is incredibly good. Thanks a lot. I am good at maths but I had never understood this. It is easy to watch and very entertaining, thanks!

  • Do you know how plainful it was to make this videa? I did. Thanks man!

  • Rational numbers are closed under addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division (with the exception of division by zero).

But irrationals aren't closed under ANY of the operations. Look:

pi - pi = 0 so no subtraction, pi + -pi = 0 so no addition, pi*(1/pi) = 1 so no multiplying, and pi/pi = 1 so no dividing. But irrational numbers are cool. :)

  • oh my gosh! thank you sooooo much! you explained that so much better than my teacher! he didn't explain it very well at all! i never really knew what a rational number was until now. thankkkk youuuuu!!!! :)

  • wow, thanks! Great explanation! :)

  • Pi is approximately equal to 22/7... not exactly. 22/7 is an estimate just as 3.14 is an estimate.

  • I was taught that Pi was 22/7 doesn't that mean it's rational? What am I missing here?

  • Good job on the video. I like the way you did it.

  • u did not simplfy 326/100

  • Man I hate Math. Thanks for explaining ~!

  • much appreech

  • Thank u so much !

  • you cant write 3:4 as a fraction 3/4. 3:4 shows proportions of something with 7 parts, but 3/4 shows 3 parts of 4.

  • @kisharsenal i think it's time you took a break from the crack.

  • ahhhhh thank youuu. my teacher suckkkeed at explaining this!

  • ty men big help. it help me on my home work

  • To weaslewounder69: 0 is rational... 0 = 0/1 & can therefore be written as a fraction. -0.45 is rational... -0.45 = -45/100

  • What about 0 is it rational or irrational and what if you have a negative decimal like

    -0.45 please reply back

  • U make it easy to understand!!!!!

  • THANK YOU

  • thanxs really helped me understand

  • thnx bro. love you (no homo) but yea studyin for exams

  • thanks!! u explain it better than my teacher!!! its not that complicated thanks

    -Jose
