  • F**king ugly ass instrument panel.

  • is tht a stick

  • @TheNicziggy no, they dont offer the v6 fusion in a stick, and plus there P R N D M between the temp gauge and fuel gauge

  • If I were in the market for a mid-size, I wouldn't even look at Camry or Altima. It would be between the Sonata and the Fusion.. I'd have to drive both to make the choice, but I'd probably lean to the Ford.

  • how fast can u go before the gas motor kicks in?

I hope it's not 30 MPH like the Prius!

  • @johnson1095 This is not a Fusion Hybrid. This is a 3.0 V6 model. But I do know that the Fusion Hybrid can go up to 48 MPH before the engine kicks in.

  • That car seems solid. You can hear it when you shut the door...Looks like an infiniti inside...Im so glad American car companies are starting to step their game up!!

  • @wongmylesa I own a 2002 Nissan Maxima and it has the VQ 35 and definitely seems smoother and less nosier than those direct injection V6 engines in the cadillacs. And also the VQ engines except for a select few do not use direct injection and still make more power than the GM DI series engines. Now I am not bashing the GM DI engines or anything but if they added direct injection to the VQ engines they would beat almost every other V6.

  • My mom has the sel 2.5 and 6 speed and it's pretty quick, so I can imagine how powerful the 6 is. The only thing that I don't like on the fusion is the ride, I think it's quite bumpy and shaky. At least my moms is

  • It's possible it has the 18" wheel package with a sport tuned suspension, that would for surely make it a rougher ride. Otherwise If not, I do have to mention the OEM Michelin tires that come with the Fusion are absolute shit, they wear out completely within about 20,000 miles if not less in my experience. Our 2010 is at 10,000 miles and the tires are making the car ride way rougher than it was when we had just got it.

  • @gusherb94 That makes sense. I'm not sure the tire size, but I know they're the Michelin tires. The car has12,000 miles on it. So my mom's probably better off buying better tires for it

  • My mom had an 06 Mercury Milan before the Fusion and the Michelin's only lasted 15,000 miles before they literally became a safety hazard to drive on...

  • @gusherb94 Yeah, don't like the Michelin's at all and they're noisy tires too, lol. Might get Toyo's or Bridgestones

  • @giannial1985 and @gusherb94 Michelin tires like those that come on the fusion are for a smooth ride, and they do good! But they are CRAP in longevity...I recommend Bridgestone.

  • @bd5035 This car is at 18,xxx miles with those Michelin tires. The tires currently drive like SHIT and they already have lost alot of there traction ability. When the car was new driving in the rain you could be rough on the gas pedal and not have any slip, now you have to be real careful or they'll spin.

  • @bd5035 Yeah, my mom's are horrible and she has the 17's. The Michelin Pilot tires. They have been riding rough to and have gotten noisy on the highway. I was in the backseat and couldn't hear my self think, LOL!!

  • @giannial1985 I can't wait for some REAL tires on our car.

  • @gusherb94 Same here. Fusion's are nice and deserve better tires. I'm thinking of Bridgestone. Pirelli's are nice, but they tend to be noisy.

  • Nah... I know for a fact that this engine always sounds course !

Honda And Toyota has smoother more powerful engines...

  • Toyota and Honda don't have 3 liter engine's either, this engine does date back to 1996 afterall, it's not gonna be as smooth as a 3.5 liter V6. This engine is still quite smooth after it's latest updates, sounds alot better than the 2006-09 Fusion V6.

  • @gusherb94 Well there is a fusion V6 that is a 3.5.... It still sounds course. See my friend has a 2010 fusion sport. It's a 3.5. And they both sound pretty similar.

The 3.5 ford makes is still underpowered compared to the J35 V6.

Honda just stoped production of the J30... that was a 244 HP 3.0 VTEC V6. Still was smoother and quieter then this duratec.

  • Ford's about to up their 3.5 to 285 HP on the 2011 Edge...

6 HP less on the Duratec35 over the J35 makes barely any difference in overall total acceleration, remember Honda still uses a 5 spd, vs Ford using 6spds.

The J30 was replaced 3 years ago already, I personally don't think it's smoother than a Duratec30, they both sound about the same to me.

and best of all remember unless you've heard this engine in this car IN PERSON you can't make any judgment on how smooth it sounds.

  • @gusherb94 I just told you that i HAVE RIDDEN IN A FUSION V6 :D...

Total accel is slower in the J35 because of the accords Borderline Full size car size... It more compares with the taurus which takes almost 8 seconds to 60...

If you wanna see how good the J35 is with accel... The TSX is the fusions size and 0-60 happens in about 6 flat... Maybe 6.2 ish...

Really? You think the Ford V6 sounds the same to the J35 ? You know they use J35's in Acuras right? Their quiet until VTEC. :D haha

  • I should have made it clearer... You said you rode in a Fusion SPORT 3.5, I was referring to you not having ridden in a 2010 Fusion 3.0. THAT's what I was saying sounded about the same as a J30, not J35.

I've been in a Fusion Sport 3.5 and a 2010 Edge 3.5, the Duratec35 is definitely smoother than the Duratec30 in the 2010's.

Now as far as the J series goes, I personally love that engine they are excellent, and I would buy a Honda just to have the J35. but I still like Ford's Duratec V6's.

  • @gusherb94 I get you ! Haha...

Interesting that they sound different... In the showroom both the 3.5 and 3.0 had the same exhaust setup... And they both share the same block... just larger displacement... Thats why i would imagine the two Duratecs sounding the same.

  • The difference is the 3.5 mainly sounds bigger than the 3.0, it's deeper toned and if you listened to the exhaust I'm sure you'd hear more rumble than the 3.0. Of course it's smoother operating. also it can't be forgotten that the Duratec30 is from 1996 already while the Duratec35 is from 2006, though this latest revision of the Duratec30 gives it more tech than the 3.5, it has "Cam Torque Actuated Variable Cam Timing", "adaptive knock control and aggressive deceleration fuel cutoff", and VVT.

  • @gusherb94 The ford 3.0 has been greatly revised since then... It has VVT and such ! lol

  • Yeah I stated that in my last comment. and don't forget "coarse" really is a relative statement. Coming from a long line of I4 vehicles this is the smoothest sounding engine of any car we've ever had, I of course very well know that it's kinda the bottom rung of V6's still, but it's still very pleasant in everyday use. I have had experience with the best V6 on the market the Nissan 3.5VQ, it's definitely worlds smoother and better sounding over the Duratec30.

  • @gusherb94 Whoaa! Did you say the 3.5VQ is was the smoothest V6?

Ward did tests and it was proven to be even more rugged running then the GM DI v6...

That was the same year it was removed from the list

The duratec motors are ok though... Id rather drive one of those over any 4 banger :D

  • I refer to the 3.5VQDE in the 09-present Maxima, that motor is worlds smoother than any of Ford's current Duratec V6's, and sings like a sporty V6 should when you rev it up. When it came down to the final choice for car's it was either the Fusion we have or the 2010 Maxima... I couldn't stand the Maxima for several reasons, the big one being the CVT, the damn POS sucks the life out of the awesome engine. Very boring. but damn the car itself was awesome.

  • Great car!

  • These are great cars. I drove the 4-banger version, and even THAT thing sounded refined and drove very well! Ford did a great job with this car.

Plus, those guages are pure win.

  • I've ridden in an I4 2010 Fusion/Milan, they appear to have equal sound dampening on the inside for engine noise. Although the I4 turns out to be louder considering it has to rev higher than the V6.

The I4 2010 Fusion is WORLDS quieter than the previous years.

  • I hope they will make a two door version like the cougar 99-02 vs mondeo MK2. I like my cougar.

  • Hmm if they did it wouldn't be for a while.

  • how can you say anything about the sound when you don't rev it up. my 2006 milan v6 lives at 5-6k rpm and thats the rev range that matters in this engine.

  • What kind of mileage (city, highway or combined) are you seeing with the V6? I'm torn between looking into a V6 or a 4-cylinder Fusion.

  • Well for the amount of power you get out of the engine and how much fun it is, it get's pretty good gas mileage. when it's driven like a "normal" person it will average for us about 22.5 MPG with mostly city driving and a fair bit of highway. And strictly highway I've seen it get over 30 MPG. My mom's friend has the I4 2010 Milan which is the Fusion's twin and her's averages with mostly city as well, about 26 MPG and once again our's is about 22.5

  • and as far as the powertrain choices besides the gas mileage goes, the 3.0 liter V6 is very fun to drive and it most certainly doesn't feel like too much power, in-fact you actually feel more safe with the extra power if your coming up from an underpowered 4cyl engine. the 6spd automatic with Manual and hill mode couldn't be better and is far smarter than any transmission I've ever seen before. The 4cyl engine on the other hand is pretty good but if you like smooth sound and effortless-

  • That's cool. I have a 1999 Pontiac Bonneville SSEi right now and was wondering if I should stick with a V6 or switch to a 4-cylinder...but this V6 makes the same horsepower my car does and mileage doesn't come close to the 2010 Fusion.

  • Trust me the V6 Fusion will get you FAR better MPG than your Pontiac. I drove my friends 95 Monte Carlo Z34 which has just 20 less HP than the Fusion and the thing sucked gas insanely in comparison.

  • acceleration then the V6 is really for you as the I4 does have to rev high for it's power and personally for me on our last car I couldn't stand that anymore and I really wanted something that didn't have to always work hard just to move. the new I4 is a little better about that so far being it has 15 more HP and it's quieter. but those are pretty much my reasons for liking the Fusion V6 much better than the I4.

  • very niec i love how they made the new guages. i have one question is the new sony sterio much better than the milans sterio?? i have the upgraded sterio in my milan but its the audiofiles bc i have the 09

  • Well I hear that the Sony IS better than the audiophile, but I can't say personally since our Milan had the base 6spkr system but I DO love the Sony much more. it's very powerful, very clear sound and, full range of sound.

  • @gusherb94 yeah i have to say the audio file is amzing lots of bass the subwoofers are great. but i was a surprised when i heard the 2010 has the sony thats crazy lol i gota go check out a 2010. i love sony sterios

  • Ford fusino the best!!!

  • Nice car

  • nice i should have got the sport instead of the se :(

  • this is just the SEL V6. What engine did you get in your SE?

  • I love that gauge cluster. I will have to get like that sometime.

  • OH ok know I understand

  • My dad's is not a hybrid. your Fusion IS a hybrid

  • This isn't a Hybrid either, this is the SEL V6 model.

  • Same as my dad's but it is a hybrid

  • it couldn't be a Hybrid as you said it was an 09 and a 3.0 V6. unless your speaking of something else?
