@tactic141 You are depending on the center doing nothing. Certain slide protections can give a lot of blitzes issues...and from testing I've seen the lines act differently in under center vs shotgun too.
I'm really not a big fan of blitz packages where the game glitches so that an OL does nothing...but i'm curious how slide protect looks against it. Care to elaborate?
@TheMelnTeam its not a blitz that glitches and makes the oline do nothing. I play football myself and i played left tackle. If a defense spreads its line there is probably going to be nobody on the center, and in real life in a pass situation centers would just move to the edge to help because that means they would leave a wide open gap for someone up the middle. Its not a glitch, its just taking advantage of another players priorities.
@TheMelnTeam Then if you pinch the line the center will probably take a d-lineman but then the ends crash down on the ends leaving linebackers a lane for the QB with possible a little running back in their way. Slide protection wont work since the back side tackle (either OT) doesnt block the end, they move in to protect the inside, leaving the RB alone. And thats why you need to block more than a RB, in the NFL 5 olinemen cant block 4 dline men and 2 linebackers most of time.
@TheMelnTeam and with just a RB helping it doenst do to much either. But with these blitzes there are allways holes. And this is a game, it will never be perfect. Obviously in real life RBs dont just block left or right, they read the pressure and oline usaully cut block to take out more than one guy, but you just have to adapt to the game. And people that say blitzes like this is cheap, its not, nanos are, but this is realistic pressure to the game.In real life QBs adjust
@tactic141 I agree with everything you say, EXCEPT that this pressure is realistic. Getting it sometimes would be realistic, but getting it consistently is not. In real life, the center would make an effort to do something, whereas in this play he doesn't. I was on the offensive line in high school; even at that very low level of play our linemen knew to adjust to this. Nobody should ever do NOTHING on a play ;).
@TheMelnTeam I know, we're both right, but its madden and its not gonna be like real football. And if it was like the nfl, it would be way to complicated for gamers.
In the video you're sending more people than the offense has blockers.
What happens when they leave extra guys in to block, and/or use slide protect to take away the re-blitz gap firing?
