i found a step by step guide on how to configure iphone for email, notes, calendars & contacts on iphone in a fastmetrics blog. microsoft exchange is used as default. more for the business user, but it had handy tips on how to configure iphone for email to most mail servers. imap or pop is needed.

You are both right... this video does nothing for any issue you WILL run into setting up the Iphone. There are tons of articles out there though that will walk you through setting it up but you have to get some info from you IT dept.
