  • Sounds like something out of an Enter Shikari song. Good job, bro.

  • how did you get that effect :)?

  • @Yourname942 Really just an old peavey envoy practice amp from 93, dead strings, and warn down frets.

  • @shagfish dam hehe (was hoping it was something I could re-create)

but yeah, its pretty badass, (it reminds me of "The Pagemaster" for the Original Game Boy.

  • Is that Battery Acid? I listen to waaaay too much qotsa to recognize that. lol

  • la raja

  • Both neck and bridge pickups ar Dimarzio's if i'm not mistaken

  • @lilsquirl The bridge is an Evolution but the neck is a stock Ibanez pu.

  • I love it.

  • 0:15 - 0:27 what is that i know i've heard that before

  • @roamerreed Part of the solo at the end of Freebird.

  • @TrentLikesTacos Hahahaha! I just had to log-in and thumb up :D

  • @TrentLikesTacos how did u know LOL

  • @TrentLikesTacos 13 more people accidentaly pressed the dislike button while picking up their KFC Bucket.

  • >Amp distortion is the only effect.

    No way.

  • @M1ghtymorph1n Satan makes it sound like that.

  • 8-bit music often used square waves for synthesis. This is just an extremely distorted guitar - distortion makes guitar sounds more like square waves.

  • omfg double kill switch at the end...

  • 13 people are 16bit

  • fucking sick

  • whats a neck pickup???

  • Amazing

  • awesome

  • i could listen to this over and over!!!!

  • @JacobDeadman Thank you very much!

  • @shagfish is it possible to do this with any guitar?

  • @JacobDeadman Yeah as long as it has a neck pickup. This sound was basically achieved from the neck pick up more or less.

  • you know graphics are things you can see right?

  • @TheHivem1nd No shit?!? I'm glad you're here to tell me these things:)

  • Why does it say 8 bit graphics? This is sound not a visual thing? but it's cool either way.

  • Get a Gameboy.

    Get an Arduinoboy.

    Get mGB.

    Get a DG-10.

    WHAM

  • hey this is awesome! could you do a tab or a instructional video for this?`that would be great!

  • That is sooooooooo coooooooooooooooooooo-oooooooool!!!

    ~Eve

  • Sounds good....

  • It's the dude from Dragonforce.

  • although this is some good playing, i dont really hear the 8 bit

  • Haha sounds like my old gameboy pocket xD

  • where di you get that effect?!?!?@

  • Dude! This is amazing! Can you post some tabs? Thanks. :)

  • dude u got talent u need 2 be known 4 it!!!

  • @bowser782 Thank you:) Yeah there's lots of players on you tube that should be more known.

  • great sounds!!!

  • woah how did u do this. i must know !!

  • I like the effets a 0:23 :D

  • when I close my eyes I feel like I am at the mall at the arcade back in the 80s. makes me wanna take a sledgehammer and break something. when are you going on the road?

  • @csmpeoil Thanks:) When am I going on the road? That's what I'd like to know as well! Lol

  • Funny thing about this - First, there's your video, then there was a guy who (at least he used to) made custom fuzz pedals specifically to get the 8-bit sound. I think he stopped making them. Then the other day I open the Musicians Friend catalog and what's there but a pedal called "Legend of Fuzz" to get the 8-bit sound. The casing of the pedal looks like the Legend of Zelda box cover. They're about $100 a pop too.

  • @squidpotion I have a you tube friend on here named Synthmonger. He makes lots of pedals like that at around the same price. I gotta look up what you're talking about though in the MF catalog. Sounds fun:)

  • dude how do you do this

  • Sounds like Joe Satriani's Mystical Potato Head Groove Thing...

  • Dude this is so great!!

Reminds me of old school mario man, Killer video!!

  • this is awesome!!!!

    love it man

check my vids out sometime if you want

  • that's like herman li's guitar XD

  • I saw metroid ??? Cool playing man!!! I loved it

  • you do get a very videogamey effect with this - sounds like MegaMan in some parts, good going!

The finger tapping is sort of like pixels, or stepped numerical audio values, so it makes sense. You get those good "note wavers" in there too.

  • If you learn Buckethead's tapping style... this will sound like sex on the guitar with this effect.

  • thumbs up for buckethead

  • great sound! like it =)

  • :o luve it dude! More views for you!

  • maybe it's youtube, but you're tone actually sounds bit-munched. fuckin awesome either way

  • its ashame how this vid has barely past the 12000 mark

and you see all those talentless guys with like 100 000 per videos

urs should be top viewed i dont care

  • Thanks for the comment and I'm glad you liked it:)

  • @cycoturkey101

  • @cycoturkey101 Like justin bieber.

  • sweet

  • very nice! i like it

  • This is damn amazing D:

I must make that for myself.

  • yeah sounds like you can really use that in a song.

  • i kinda like it :)

  • man this is really cool, what kind of efect or distortion you use to get that square atack sound?

    keep on rocking :D

  • Thank you:) No effect other than the distortion. Single coil in neck position.

  • thnks man :D

  • Not bad, but really doesn't sound like 8-bit at all.

  • to me it doesnt sound 8-bit. Very nice techique though.

  • First off, this is really cool, but i have a question.

This lick at 0:57 is a tapping arpeggio, so aren't we supposed to hear a quite high and quite low note on every string? because it sounds like on some of the strings you just hit the high note with your right hand or only the low one with your left hand? i'd really like to know if that was your intention or what, because i really love those licks you've created in here.

  • Thanks! I wish I could say I created that lick:) The lick at 0.57 is a tapped harmonic. Basically my left hand is in a Dm7 position and I'm tapping the actual frets themselves that are an octave higher. Like the intro of "Spanish Fly" by EVH. So it's just one note you're hearing but it takes those 2 notes on top of each other to create the actual one you hear.

  • Thanks:) This was inspired by something(I don't know the name of)I heard Buckethead do on a guitar compilation vid.

  • HEY luv the part when u tap faster @ 0:16 & @ 0:52 -- plz can u tell me which song did covered? or maybe a song that you got inspired. thanks 5/5

  • its all really good apart from the end. learn to use the kill switch :/. you got the hard stuff down, now learn the easy. im not flaming im just saying. you're really goo. keep it up dude (Y)

  • He would use the kill switch but the devil won't let him. He sold his soul to satan to play like this and Lucifer doesn't allow any of 'the easy' stuff in his contract. Such a shame. I wish the devil would release him. SATAN LET THE BOY GO!

  • wow, you sound just like buckethead! can you cover any of his songs?

  • buckethead is a good guitarist, but i think his songs arent even half of his talent xD what u think?

  • well, he is just a little over 20, he's definitely going to get better

  • i love that. how did you get that sound i cant get it! its soo cool. if i cant figure it out im gonna build the 8 bit pedal

  • Outstanding!

  • Creative sounds coming from that axe of yours, I think I may want to look more up on learning how to tap like that

    Well done

  • Awesome! 5 stars dude!

  • ibanez rg565 ! man u are lucky bastard.....

  • i agree. and @shagfish, this is a fucking awesome video dude. fucking awesome.

  • nice tapping skills dude

  • man, ur into mario or wtf? nice playin dou ;)

  • Omfg, how do u make something like that?

  • sir...this is MUCH better than every other 8 bit guitar stuff i've seen so far on youtube

  • Much appreciation :)

  • Are you using a compressor and distortion also? It all sounds cool. My guitar doesn't make sustaining notes like that when I tap my fingers on the frets. Am I not tapping hard enough?

  • No compressor or effects accept the distortion which is direct from a Peavey envoy practice amp. It has a 10 in speaker. You should hear the taps easily as long as your guitar is set on neck pickup. I'm using single coil but a humbucker will work just as well.

  • wow that sounded like it was straght from a game

  • what does graphics have to do with it?

  • Is this a built in effect or do you have a pedal?

  • thats amazing best use of harmonics ive ever seen bravo

  • Wow. At first I thought it was fake, but then I realized, your actually playing that?

How did you get the sound?

  • Thank you, Just plugged directly into a peavy envoy w/10 inch speaker, all on single coil neck .

  • Knuckle conditioning?

  • BURD!

  • cool, really amazing, creative...

  • u an actor? i am indie film guy.

  • Indie films are the best!

  • awesome shit

  • that was awesome but i am a complete nintendo/zelda hater xD

  • What pickup do u have in the neck?

  • Stock single coil. I assume an Ibanez but not really sure?

  • i think i can get my guitar to sound like that, but it's nowhere near as good as yours XD

  • wheres the kfc bucket?

  • @lambofpaul

    He's white.

  • @lambofpaul yh buckethead much....

  • hahaha thats awesome real funky :)

  • Hey Man What kind of Pedal Are you using to get the 8-Bit quality sound?

  • There's no effects at all other than distortion. It's all on neck pickup and straight into a peavy envoy w/a 10 inch speaker.

  • this is just amazing !you are a master of technique.

  • Thank you!

  • amazing! what song is that?

  • Thank you! Just something I came up with after listening to the music on alot of atari and NES games.

  • It sounds nice! Did you write the tabs down?

  • dude this is good, can you make a video on how to do this style of tapping

  • Freaking sweet. I can see this being in an old game like Donkey Kong.

  • that's really cool!

    what effects are you using?

  • Thank you! There's no effects unless you count really dead strings. All on neck pickup and straight into a peavy envoy w/a 10 inch speaker.

  • thats a great example of its how you play not what you play.

  • OMG that is awsome

  • excellent!

love the finger tapping , nice one :]

  • rofl this is great lolz

  • dude jimi hendrix aint got shit on you!
