I like how this scene went from clouds in blue sky to almost completely grayscale after a short time - all without any help from special effects :-) Thanks for checking it out! :-)
I believe this was about a 60x speed-up, so each frame represents about 2 seconds of time.
This makes the math work out nicely; this 91-second timelapse equals about 91 minutes of realtime: 2sec per frame X 30fps X 91 sec of timelapse = 5400 seconds. /60 seconds per minute = 91 minutes. :-)
At 30fps playback there would be about 1 minute or realtime per 1 second of time lapse;
I am an amateur meteorologist at best... What I post here on YouTube is about as close to broadcast as I get, except for the occasional use of clips by movie studios.
I've studied and been fascinated by the atmosphere and weather ever since I can remember, and I enjoy filming and showing it in different ways - especially time lapse. :-)
Rain bands look really cool... I've managed to record them a few times in the past. What's really amazing is just how much water can come from clouds - it's really apparent when sped up in time lapse. :-)
@jcmegabyte that made me think have you ever tried doing one of water evaporating? perhaps just a pot boiling down or a fog lifting and coming just saying that would be so cool I would pay money to watch that!
I HAVE done the fog lifting thing: v=grUp2sqDJAs and I hope to do more - specifically from the top of a nearby mountain... as soon as conditions are right I plan to make some trips. :-)
@jcmegabyte Wow thanks! I Saw the video and it was really cool I have never seen anything like it! [which I have been saying a lot more since I found your channel] but it was amazing the ending really displayed how much people just don't stop and look at the world and yes the top of the mountain is a little more majestic then an inter section LoL Thank you!

Do you remember how long the time span was before it was sped up? I bet it took a long time.
