the problem is that an electromagnetic wave is not static, and is not a standing wave.
the electromagnetic wave is moving outward leaving the source behind. for a singe sine cycle to continue moving outward from its center a second wave have to oppose (push against) the first cycle or else the fist cycle will increase in wave length and create a transverse collapsing wave that will dissipate its energy from the center it moved away from.

Well, the orbits of objects in the solar system only appear to function as a spiral from an arbitrary fixed point. If your motion relative to the sun is zero, it appears to be a plane of orbits. If you're moving away or towards the sun, then yes, it's a spiral.
This explanation is deceptive and misleading. The solar system is just that, a system. What is significant is the interaction of the discrete parts of the system, not appearances.

What proves that we are at a fixed position in space is the sight of the same set of stars. If we were indeed moving through space then wouldn't our view of the universe subsequently change? Well, the orbits of objects in the solar system only appear to function as a spiral from an arbitrary fixed point. If your motion relative to the sun is zero, it appears to be a plane of orbits. If you're moving away or towards the sun, then yes, it's a spiral.
This explanation is deceptive and misleading. The solar system is just that, a system. What is significant is the interaction of the discrete parts of the system, not appearances.
Therefore the guy has no business teaching anyone, EVER!

Pretty sure the sun isn't moving and we aren't riding it's waves through space. What proves that we are at a fixed position in space is the sight of the same set of stars. If we were indeed moving through space then wouldn't our view of the universe subsequently change? Or is it that everything is moving with us? It would be interesting to think of comets/meteors/asteroids not falling towards us but rather us falling towards them. Interesting video.
