im just going to put this out there but almost every person in this video is stronger than most bodybuilders and and they are in high school plus they don't look like Godzilla's offspring
Again, someone who does not understand the context of the competition, let alone reads the comments before posting one! In this competition the bar does not have to pause on the chest, just touch it. And yes, we were all in school when we did this and as per previous comments were lifting well for our age.
May I ask anyone who feels the need to comment on bench technique to read comments before posting, as it is getting tiresome having to explain this every time!
I'd just like topoint out that your bench press technique was terrible, although you may only be in highschool, I am as well, I also powerlift. When bench pressing in power lifting you must pause at your chest until completely still, disallowing the "bounce" off your chest, good all around though.
Good points, but you have to consider the context of this video. At the time we were all in school 5 days a week, aged between 15 and 17. We had only been training for about a year and were lifting unequipped, drug-free. Most of us went on to compete in the bdfpa and wdfpf, and have gained British and world titles. I also hold multiple world records on the deadlift.
These guys really wouldn't survive in a USA weightlifting competition... you would have to lift at least 500 lbs. to enter in most of them(depends on body weight and age) but these guys lifting 300 lbs. wouldn't really make the cut... keep getting stronger guys i believe in you!
awesome video. i like how it has the lifters names and the weights lifted on screen. on the bench press the bar's supposed to come to a complete stop touching the chest tho. sick anyway
In most organisations the bar has to pause on the chest. In this competition the rule was that as long as the bar touches the chest it is a legal lift.
