@adelgado75 i think they move more people using this method then the bus, game nights they pack up, 3-4 long, cant do that with a bus, you would need to send more busses at once, these, the cars are interchangeable, the older models link with the newer models, so they can adjust how they need to
@mtattrain you heard right, it's on display at Boylston on currently unused tracks. It, like other PCC's, were originally used on the green line, even though it is painted orange. PCCs are still in use on the Mattapan line
@redsoxguy617 because there are 4 lines, and they start breaking off right after this one with the first one at copley then the other three right after
I have a video request: I know the MBTA may not let you do this and I think it would be really interesting if you got a clips of how they drive the Green Line and Red Line. I have always wondered what they did.
It is hard to take video of them driving, but if you are ever in Boston you can watch them. The green line cabs are open like buses, and the Red Line cabs have windows. I will try though.
@bbman2197 I think if they showed that, people could hijack the trains. I know on the type 7 you have to hold down the dead-man switch (which is actually a pedal) in order to move the train, otherwise it shuts off.
gotta love the squeeky squeeky sound of the trolly, thats what makes it.

Would it not be cheaper to pave over the tracks and run electrified buses?
