C36 might beat an M3 from a stop but will lose by like a car length or so on a roll. C36 might beat some M3s on a roll too though

C36 vs M3 from the same year is no comparison, the c36 will eat the M3, but if you are in C36 VS newer m3 like a 2003 or newer then yes the c36 may loose.

but AMG year vs year with bmw is always faster, take any bmw from 2008 vs mercedes e.g 2008 me vs 2008 C63 and the mercedes will be faster and more powerful. M has always been slower then AMG same year vs same year.

Well if you look at it statistically The C36 0-60 is like 5.9 and the E36 M3 is anywhere from 5.3-5.5

it depends from 1995 to 1998 M3 had different spec m3 from 5.3 to 5.8, but c36 for the same year was faster in the 1/4 mile. c36 is put as 5.8 0-60 but its much faster in reality. MB uderstates their times, they have done this since the beginning, they put slower times on paper then the actual time, to give the customer brand image. my C28 amg is rated at 7.3 0-60, i clocked 6.8 0-60 stock with snow tires on dry road. but both are nice imo.

oh yeah both are really nice. But I think what the C36 lacks is the manual transmission, and the road holding vs the M3. I own a benz, and love them to death but they haven't been able to compete with an M3.

ohhh yea thats the only thing, the manual and handeling on a track i would say M3, straight line power MB. true true. Do you have an AMG?

i have never driven non amg, but my friend witht he kompressor c230 says that he wish he got AMG, after riding in mine, he said the suspension and handeling is worlds appart. like on mine i can easily hit 150km on curving hwy's and the car won't even tilt a bit. but anyways i like both cars, they both do their own thing for sure.

no I wish I got an AMG. I only drive my dad's hammy down 97 E320. But it still goes pretty well. Even with 238,000 Miles on the odometer hah. But yeah, The C36 is of the 2 cars I'm looking at to buy, but the M3 costs a lot less to buy than an M3. I also think it prolly costs less to mod and maintain...=\

and S52B32US E36 M3 traps pretty much the same 1/4 mile time and speed as the C36 and C43. it's very very close. unless it was the automatic E36 M3.

ya but that is cuz the m3 is lighter and more narrow, and cheaply made, wel not cheap but not as classy, the car was built to be on the track, i own a C36 and would prefer a C36 over an m3, it's more classy and will walk an M3 on straight aways and high MPH

that was an awwsome race, i have a C36 amg, and i can proudly say it held well for a 14 year old car, we should do some friendly runs sometimes, mine has modded exhuast ECU tune, Headers pullies, and weight reductions, so i'm putting out a good amount of pwer from stock.. NICE VID

06 was ahead but he missed third and ended up getting me by 1/4 to half car. the mustang got me by a car, the 07 by a car and a half. i think the AMG was about a car and a half behind me. I got a pretty bad launch so it's why i lost so bad. Earlier that night i raced the 06 Z and had him at the 1/4 mile and we kept going and he ended up getting me by 1/2 car and he didn't miss any gears.
