  • I recovered. The highlights: Fluoride sits in your pineal gland, slowing down melatonin production. If you stop sleeping, you'll never recover. I went on the raw food diet. My PH went up to 6.6. (my lowest was 4.5 yikes! At 8 oclock, all our lights are turned off. From 10-12 oclock, your liver does magnificent work. If you have any questions, please ask. I wish someone could have told me all this, instead of experimenting over and over. Also feel free to look at my blog about my experience.

  • why do some doctors believe that adrenal fatigue is nonexistent?

  • adrenal fatigue really messed me up

  • I have this it sucks and im only 20 years old. I play football too so you can imagine how messed up my adrenal glands are and i also have a lot mental stress. I've been getting better lately just taking it one day at a time, but its sucks balls...

  • I hope you get better soon....I feel these symptoms... and I m in my fifties...hang in there. I had tried adrenal supplements and hydrocortison. ask your doctor about it...My doctor was a wellness and anti- ageing doctor. Dr. webber in san Diego CA...got too expensive for us but you should give it a try..you are too young to feel this way. hang in there dont give up

  • Thanks Dr. Hotze for trying to understand. I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia 15 years ago. I was diagnosed with inactive adrenals 3 years ago and told they failed because of cortisone injections. The medication for adrenals has really helped my fatigue and mental fog. Unfortunately, the pain is still here.

  • Adrenal Fatigue can also be caused by excessive exercise ( over training) because I experienced the hell for almost 2 years. In addition to Cortisol...DHEA and testosterone as well as many brain neurotransmitters such as serotonin, dopamine and norepinephrine also become depleted.

With severe adenal fatigue...you will lose your circadium rhythm due to severe hormonal depletion. The only way out is complete rest, proper diet and plenty of supplements. Synthetic drugs only stress the adrenals.

  • I think this is how it happened to me- or what i did to myself. Did you try cortef? I tried it and I was so tired it was hard to stay awake.

  • Yes I did take cortef for about 6 weeks when I was at my worst and yes it made me very tired. Ironically, being tired and sleepy is actually the feeling you want with adrenal exhaustion. In the early stages of adrenal fatigue the adrenals become hyperactive to compensate...eventually complete exhaustion ensues if the stress is not eliminated. Being tired and wanting to sleep is your key to getting better. SLEEP and much as possible. Tiredness is a sign your adrenals are trying to rest.

  • Who told you that- was it a doctor? Just wondering because I called Dr Hotze's office and they said that shouldn't be happening. I'm so confused about this because I'm getting conflicting info. So are you saying to sleep as much as possible too to let my adrenals recuperate? If you are right I'm glad but much what I've read says cortef should give me energy.

  • As far as Cortef is concerned...it can cause stimulation, weight gain, insomnia, and BP increases in some people. However, with me it made me feel much less anxiety and more calm and tired. As with drugs...everybody reacts differently. In this case it may be related to what stage of adrenal exhaustion you are at. I can't even begin to explain all the knowledge I have attained on this subject.

  • I have spent months reading peer reviewed medical journals on circadian rhythms, HPA axis disturbances, DHEA/Cortisol irregularities, overtraining syndrome, serotonin/melatonin irregularities. I have visited countless web-sites of M.D's and Ph.D's across the country who special in adrenal problems...attaining lots of information.

I have read several books on adrenal fatigue. One book I would particularly recommend is "Adrenal Fatigue the 21st Century Stress Syndrome"

  • I have great respect for Dr. Hotze...he understand Adrenal Fatigue very well. However, if anyone tells you that you don't need to sleep and reduce your stress levels to overcome this condition...they are 100% dead wrong. You should be given a saliva based test to see your cortisol rhythms during the day and night, your DHEA levels should also be checked. Supplemental DHEA, melatonin and 5HTP significantly helped me while my adrenals recouperated. Tx depends on your stage of adrenal dysfunction
