Yeah, the whole swearing thing isn't ideal for a lot of people, but it doesn't make the Christian. The guys in my band swear a lot, and we're a Christian band. I wouldn't recommend it for setting an example, but there are a lot of worse things out there that people who call themselves Christians do. Swearing is just words. It's the meaning a person puts behind them that makes it a curse.

Basically, most of the swear words that we now use didn't exist in Jesus' time. Also, it depends on whether or not we feel that cursing is morally right or wrong, or if we feel it degrades us as a person. It's mainly a personal choice and how you view the Bible.
