  • 4:38: What do YOU DO, SIR, with that verse? Judged by all we DO? Doesn't that offend your Protestant sensibilities of "Sola Fide"? I.e., faith only, no works?

If you were UNDERSTANDING the very words you're trying to throw at others, you might see you're not standing on so strong a foundation as you thought. And I still haven't heard a refutation of the actual Hebrew and Greek that Rob Bell spells out.

  • @Mark "God is not All!, Jesus is not Baphemet, Jesus is not Beelzebub, Jesus is not Karma, Jesus is not Buddha, Jesus is not sin don't you see the God is All teaching IS WORSHIP OF THE BEAST, REPENT! Let me put it this way, Jesus said I am the way and the truth and the life, NO ONE comes to the father but THROUGH ME. That is what Jesus said, if you believe otherwise your calling Jesus a liar and are therefore rejecting him, Beast Worship!

  • and jesus isnt the son of god the god have no father or son or mother he created the world that we know and we dont islam is the only relegion that is going to heaven dont bieleve me but ur crap about relgin stuff are lies and only muslim (sona) will go to heaven that what god said in his holy book to muslims

  • Then you don't know love. You are blind. Please brothers, open your eyes, open your arms, open your hearts. GOD is ALL, GOD is LOVE, Jesus Christ is our savior, because we are being saved from ourselves. We are falling into the arms of the lord. What we can interpret from the holy bible is GOD loves us unconditionally, which means no matter what you do. Second death is indeed true, but not in eternity of fire. But without existance. Its hard for you I know, but open your heart to GODS LOVE.

  • My Buddhist friend, Christianity teaches that there is a Hell and there is a heaven. It teaches that God will divide humanity based on one thing. Jesus Christ. Those who trust in Jesus Christ alone will enter into heaven. Those who trust in anything other than Jesus Christ will meed pure unrefined justice in hell. It's a fact. Truth hurts, and it mostly hurts pride.

  • I challenge you, to study scripture which catholicism definitely deformed when they saw fit to incorperate the word of god on thier terms, not Jesus' terms. God never says, anything about going to hell, in fact, he never even says he banishes satan to hell, he banished satan to earth. A loving father such as GOD, will NEVER, and heed these words, never abandon his child in an eternity of fire. And because you need to be kept in line, that takes away from your awareness of love. Good day.

  • @dooltaz

lol dude all of u jews and christian are so naieve (sorry for my english) cause islam is the answer for every thing jesus christ is a massenger sent from god as lots of massengers and we (muslims) bieleve in god and bieleve in jesus and all massengers and devils and angles and all holy books for all of relegins but islam is the answer and quraan is the best holy book wich will be saved and if you dont bieleve me just type in :

The Arrival (القادمون) and watch it and su u talk a lot

  • I don't get this video.

  • Don't worry, you just need the secret christian decoder ring.

  • i tried to watch it, put its just pissing me off now. and i'm still not cool with his jacket. its just a kitsch as the doctor names his chosen. its so freking funny that his on the street chatting away in such a "rob bell" style and the he just says, "have you been bad"??? what is being bad, this dude is completly messed up!

  • ok i was going to watch this video, but some dude in a suit with a video title "christian malprctice", what the heck? just look at that jacket, no more comment is needed hahaha!

  • Prayer is most oft done to distract one from the obvious evil being, or going to be performed.

    Hadith endorsed Jihad violence

    Hacking at infant genitalia

formal scriptural marriage vows read for men marrying children (I'm looking at you too, Hindu!)

claiming a child's divine lineage of an allegedly reborn (tulku). Shame on you Tibet Buddhists!...

  • ...Condemning one to hell for their life style.

No matter what organized evil preformed. Prayer is for sure going to motivate or subsidize the doing of that evil.

    The End!

  • This guy doesn't have any unbelieving friends. He is clueless about how to connect with unbelievers.

And "swearing" is NOT blasphemy! Totally different category. Jesus was killed for blasphemy, not because he had a potty-mouth.

  • What the person is saying in this video is right on. While the effectiveness of evangelizing to strangers the way he was doing is debatable. The heart of his message is that self help and love are not the gospel. The truth of their sins and directing them to Jesus is the gospel. All who stray from this are not helping. Cool new ways of sharing the gospel? GREAT! As long as it's the gospel. Good work Sir.

  • And this, class, is what is referred to as a "straw man" argument. The videos on this guy's website are absurd.

  • this is all fair and well BUT! approaching non christians with "hellfire & Judgment" is NOT helpful. While the guys in this video showed no offence its not an accurate poll. I would have been really irritated by this!

  • doesn't this guy realize that he is doing exactly what Rob Bell is teaching!? He's getting one on one with people and caring about what they have to say... instead of standing on a corner and yelling at people through a bullhorn. That is exactly the point Rob Bell was making.

  • I think what inspired him to produce this is when Rob said "and he's using words like SIN and HELL and REPENT and then he says JESUS". The way Rob said those words, with the attitude behind the "Jesus", seemed to be an attempt at disassociating Jesus with those words.

  • Rob Bell is as accurate as can be when describing "The bull horn guy". It's not that his/her message is wrong, but it's the way they go about presenting that message. No, Christianity isn't all pie in the sky, however, no one wants to be screamed from across the street and be told that they are condemned to hell for all of their sins... Bull Horn guy is driving people away...

  • So, when should people be told that they are condemned to hell for all of their sins?

  • bible doesnt teach a fire hell.

  • When did Jesus tell you to tell people "that they are condemned to hell for all of their sins"?

  • When Jesus said "love your neighbor as yourself". I wouldn't want to spend eternity in a lake of fire, and I thank God people warned me. Now the loving thing for me to do is to go out and yes, warn people of the truth that sin leads to death and the second death is the lake of fire, but more-over that Jesus is God himself and knowing that we are wicked he came down, suffered and died to pay the price that we could be saved from hell fire. You seem to have a regard for Jesus. Why not trust Him?

  • the man in the video isnt saying that God isnt love. he was saying that showing affection, attention, and grace on an unbeliever isnt enough. they need to know that its in the name of our Savior, and the reason why he needed to save us. he is saying to show love(caring and affection) but to show them the most love is to tell them of the bad, and the good news. and we are called to, DESPITE whether or not it offends. not to say we should try to offend. but spe

  • ak the truth. ALL of it. the apostle paul would go into a city and people would either riot, or repent and rejoice... he didnt expect everyone to be okay with what he had to say, but he showed love, and showed the truth.

disregard the last comment, it was a messed up response to something much earlier.

  • God is LOVE. This guy's rambling is absolutely absurd.

  • Indeed, God IS love, but God isn't love at the exclusion of wrath! Never forget that.

  • They are people! They need Jesus, they are not just a mean to prove that you are right and Rob Bell is wrong. What did you gain with all this? It's love that leads to repentance, not judgment. The law just stirs the sin in me, the grace bring me to my knees. Try to get an appointment and talk Rob Bell and discuss this, but don't confused Christians and none Christian with this kind of videos. But we still love you. Love wins

  • He's just trying to warn everyone about the teachings of Mr. Bell. Rob is writing his own Bible and some people think that is crazy.

  • Almost as crazy as that sports coat and shirt! lets just spread more random slander about more people like mr bell perhaps.

  • "It's love that leads to repentance, not judgement". This is correct, but your understanding is incomplete. God gave his law because He loved us. Jesus showed us we were guilty through the law, understanding of the law made Paul repent. Study Matthew 5 and Romans 7. They can be hard to understand but I urge you to re-read and extract all that you possibly can from them. The law helps us understand the gospel. Indeed if God had no standard we wouldn't need a saviour.

  • ...But if God's standard was so high that none could reach it we need a perfect sacrifice. Alot of people believe Christ crucified but do not know the full implications of why that was the only way. Those implications are wonderful truths that squishy "evangelism" neglects.

  • I know dude, the Bible has more passages on condemnation than "love", but my point is that you used people from the street to prove your point. In my opinion that's manipulation.

  • This is absolutely horrible. Preach the gospel to people to prove a point? I hope don't become my doctor. You reinforce Rob's teaching dude. Love wins

  • What is the meaning of "Love", please look it up before you respond to this ok. I know you won't, but look it up in a dictionary and a bible, & Bible dictionary.

  • Thank you jptalmid. I think probably one of the funniest parts of this video is when the guy is obviously making fun of how Rob dresses. "With the hair on the chin". How lame.

  • Yeah, doctors and christians are pretty much alike except for the fact that they are totally different. The analogy bewteen "christians" and doctors is flawed in so many ways. Maybe I could see the problem this guy has with Bell if people were paying Bell to personally tell them what is wrong in their lives. Jesus did not diagnose people's problems (see his treatment of tax collectors, prostitutes, etc.) instead He accepted and treated them as decent human beings.

  • Really? Please tell me where Jesus did this at, Read Mark 10:17, The parable son walked away because he had his money and things as his god and didn't love God (the 1st and 2nd commandment) Luke 18, Read it all before you post a reply to Todd's video. Jesus ALWAYS USED THE LAW,

  • Part 1 - You are correct in that instance, but keep in mind how much Jesus talked about the rich and poor, which was a lot. Here are some instances of the opposite: Luke 14, Jesus doesn't lecture the prostitute nor did He in the first place to win her over. Luke 15, in the prodigal son it is the Father's graciousness that brings the son back, not his threat of judgment.

  • Yeah, he came back your right. But the ideal was to break the proud, self-righteous person to make them see God's holiness. Not saying that your way is wrong, maybe it is not. But please remember however you share your faith, make sure at least somehow use the law to bring the knowledge of sin. An Athiest will argue with you if you "we" preach the "good news" only. Or a person who has money, and a great career. Law to the proud, Grace to the humble.

  • Now where's that verse at? Darn can't think right now, I'll find it. "Law to the Proud, Grace to the humble". 1 Peter 5:5, Gal 3:24; Law is our tutor (some read schoolmaster) to bring us to Christ.

  • Part 2 - Luke 19, read the story and tell me why Zacchaeus was won over. Tax Collectors violate basically every law in the Jewish hand book for living (the book of Leviticus). Jesus never lectures him and yet Zac changes his life. Why? I imagine all the religious people in the community had tried this guy's approach in the video, but Jesus comes along and says "hey, lets eat together". It was the affection and graciousness that caused Zac to change.

  • thats because he WAS Jesus...

Zacchaeus had heard of Him and wanted to see Him. When Jesus made that gesture, yes, he was overwhelmed by grace to change... but do people already know that we're followers of Christ? when we show affection, do they know its in His name? furthermore, do they know

  • (Pt2) As Christians we are to be Christ like. Jesus helped people. Church's aren't teaching people how to help others, they're teaching how to keep yourself out of hell. It's all about love. What is GOD, LOVE. He said so himself. Yes, share the gift of salvation, but don't walk away after that thinking your job is done. Sometimes people don't want salvation, this doesn't mean we move on to the next target. We still show them GOD's true love. Don't scare people into heaven, love them out of hell.

  • Packer - I second

  • (Part1) As I watched this I wondered if this guy ever sat through an entire nooma. First of all, Rob Bell's series is aimed toward Christians. So no, he does't preach salvation at you, duh. You already have salvation. This is the problem with church today. All that is ever taught is repent, go to church, pay your tithes and wait on the 2nd coming. That's not what Christianity is about. We are to be showing GOD's love to others.

  • This guy is right. Rob Bell is a Demon.

  • Talk about missing the point..... I ask anyone to watch Rob Bell's NOOMA then watch this.... Which God do you want? Rob Bell is attempting to say it's not our job to judge, but Gods. Rob does not say hide the truth and let non-christians die, no he says show them a way to live... as a christian does this not include loving God with all your heart, all your mind and all your soul, does this not include turning from your sins and repenting. Wake up please.

  • Sir, none of these men are Gods. I challenge you to read the Bible. God bless

  • May i ask you why you seem so against DArmson comment. In essance their agreeing with this guy about peoples need to repent and ask for forgivness, what they don't agree with is his methods. May i ask you why you believe they need to read the Bible.

  • dr love would love the disease away...he's a great doctor.

rob bell isnt saying be ignorant to the facts, you're just overreacting, making false generalizations and banking off of his popularity.

congratualtions, you've accumulated 6000 views as of this comment.

  • Based on my understanding ure basically talkin about Rob Bell's "Bullhorn Guy" Video but I'm curious if u ever read any of his books, saw any of his other videos? I've read some of his material & seen many of his videos. My understanding of Rob Bell, he really tries 2 balance out a message & definitely talks openly about sin, how 2 deal w/it & its effects... maybe ure making an incorrect judgment & maybe ur condemning some 1 in doing so w/out a fuller understanding of a person... just maybe.

  • this guy is an idiot

  • Prov 1:7 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

Prov 3:7 Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil.

Prov 16:6 By mercy and truth iniquity is purged: and by the fear of the LORD men depart from evil

Luke 12:5 But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.

  • this is the reason we christians have been castrated. we fight and quarrell about stuff like this and waste our time. mannnn there is a dying world out there, it needs Jesus. and WE are His hands and feet, give me a break. cant anyone see this. Rob must have, because he doesnt seem to try to defend, because he is to busy changing the world for Jesus. and i sugest the rest of you do the same!

  • if the guy in the video wanted to show that rob bells criticism of the "bullhorn guy" is wrong then he should have gone out on the street with an actual bullhorn and preached to people in that way and then showed how effective it was. he doesn't do that, he acts nice, and affable, and converses with the people logically, of course they're not going to be offended

  • My dismay at hearing the unsound (+ unbiblical) reasoning in this video is balanced by my relief in the many comments I read which also disagree. And on Romans 2: yes GOD is the just judge of all the world. Not you. You are not God. It is God's job to bring sin to light. Not yours. It is your job to LOVE. Not blind love that ignores sin, but love that loves despite sin. You say that God does not love us just as we are? He does. But He loves us too much to leave us that way. Read your Bible, man.

  • he never says that he is judging. he's letting people know they will be judged. pretty good advice, don't you think? do you agree or disagree that people need to know that there will be a judgment?

  • why not just love people. jesus loved people. he was all about social justice and transforming perceptions. the reality is that jesus only told religious people about hell and judgment. as for the "sinners" he ate and drank with them.

  • The Kingdom of Heaven is a reality in which Jesus tells us to live. It is a place where everyone loves everyone. In this Kingdom there is no hate or sickness and justice reigns. Now, the thing is, not everyone is living in this Kingdom. Some don't know about it and others won't become like little children, and their pride keeps them from understanding it.

(cont. in next 3 comments :)

  • agreed

  • These are the ones that live in the kingdom of this world. The kingdom of this world is full of anger, hate, lust, and greed. It's like when someone hates someone that is different than they are, passes judgment, or beats their wife. Now, Jesus speaks of his Kingdom and calls it life and speaks of the worldly kingdom as death; he even compares it Gehenna, the burning garbage dump outside the walls of Jerusalem (we loosely translate

it into English using the word "hell").

  • The thing is, Jesus doesn't speak of these Kingdoms as if they are just some future destinations, he speaks of them as present realities. You don't get into the Kingdom of Heaven by believing certain ideas, you enter the Kingdom when you love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, when you turn the other cheek, and when give your jacket to the guy that tries to steal your shirt. You see, God and his Kingdom are all about being in perfect relationship.

  • Let's stop holding on to the anger in our hearts that keeps us from living in the Kingdom of Heaven. The Spirit of God is on Earth; He's in our conversations. He loves us. All of us. Let's love one another and forgive each other our sins.

    Peace of Christ

  • P1, don't be jealous of this man. We realize that you are trying to be an up and coming preacher but you are speaking in tounges.

  • P1, please read The Bible before posting. We don't understand what you are saying. God bless

  • I love this guy. He is awesome! He is way smarter then Rob Bell.

  • i am sorry you depend on human wisdom rather than the teachings of Jesus, i think that you have said that he is smarter 4 times, if it were true, who cares. Jesus is smarter than everyone even your dearest todd. i am truly sorry.

  • Mr. Bell has no right to challenge the traditional values of the church. I don't think anyone has the right to challenge the Bible. Twisting words of the Bible to fit modern times? Are you crazy? I think that is a one way ticket to hell. I hope your not in for the ride buddy.

  • you just equated the traditions of the church with the bible. Rob Bell has never, and will NEVER challenge the Bible. the traditions of the modern church are based more on the teachings of aristotle than the bible. if you read aristotle you would see that the writers of the scriptures were challenging aristilian thought, and somehow we ended up there anyway. read it, it will open your eyes to read the scriptures in there context!!!

  • That's real cool Jim. All you do is judge people. The Lord would be dissapointed with you. Your going to hell.

  • jimdawg might be trolling, but even if he's not, "You're going to hell." is a pretty shitty and unloving thing to say to anyone, especially when you're using it to get in the last word and feel superior. What 'truth' about the Bible are you referring to exactly?

  • All you did was open the Book of Mormon and read the first verse you saw. I challenge you to read the Bible. It will change your life. I am praying for you.

  • i havent read on the mormons much, you must have it memorized. here is a spoiler, the Bible wasnt written in english. uh oh, i hope you didnt drop your book of mormon on you book of the dead. you never answered my question, which hell are you saving people from?

  • Jimdawg, before you post please read the Bible. You are not making any sense at all.

  • i just quoted the text twice, hmmm who should rread there bible

  • This guy is way smarter then Rob Bell. He speaks the truth about the Bible. It doesn't seem like to many people do that these days. I think a lot of people are trying to change the Bible to fit the times of today and thats wrong.

  • the three words for hell in the new test

    tartaras- judgement for angels

hades- hebrew shaol, grave, pit, or sleep , gates of hades were a real place, near cesseriea philippi

gehenna- the valley of hennam just down the street from jerusalem, where they put the trash, and there was constant fire and gnashing of teeth animals fighting over trash. so which hell are you trying too save people from. look at 2 kings 23:10

  • Only a fundamentalist would deny that the evolution of our culture should have any impact on the church. If trying to make the Bible fit our times is wrong, I sure hope you're Greek Orthodox.

This guy isn't much smarter than Rob Bell, he just interprets the Bible differently. I'd say they're equally skilled at articulating what they believe. ...although I'm distracted by the fact that this guy is misinterpreting Rob Bell's point.

  • And even as they did not like to retain God in [their] knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; Rom 1:29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, Rom 1:30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,

  • Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: Rom 1:32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

  • I think the best thing to do is teach people the truth about the Bible.

  • and the truth about the bible is that Jesus said love your neighbor, and make disciples. "talmud" that means to be and do just like he did. and he loved the prostitutes, fed the hungry and gave his life for the world. that is the truth. yes he exposed peoples sin, but too heal them not to make them guilt ridden.

  • the truth is you dont fully understand the conteext of the scriptures. you travel over land and sea to make one convert, just to make them into twice a son of the devil. be careful you are not G-d, and the bible is not your insult tool to prove yourself right.

  • What is better? Telling people how bad they are - or feeding the hungry, clothing the poor, and loving the broken? Who is being like Jesus? Is it better to be arrogant, or to be humble and reaching out to the needy out of love, and not self righteousness?

  • This is exactly what's wrong w/ the church leaders these days. Here's a preacher making huge generalizations and trying to say his way is the only right way. Rob Bell has brought millions of people closer to Jesus through his sold out tour, noomas, books, church, and worldwide sermon downloads.. and this guy devotes a huge amount of time and resources to try to tell me this is a bad thing? Grow up and go do some good in the world instead of arguying.

  • I think you just made a pretty significant point there.

Rob Bell and people like him challenge tradition, but it's never about finger-pointing. I couldn't shake the feeling that this entire video has kind of a sarcastic tone.

...calling his way "the way of reason" and then making a mockery of 'loving without an agenda' by turning it into some talk show parody.

  • I love this guy. He is so much smarter then Rob Bell. Plus, he speaks the truth. God bless

  • wow, it looks like this is creating more segregation! great. The guy seems alright, but why does he have to sound like a tele-evangalist...Mercy triumphs over justice friends. And by the way...there are way more than 4 "doctors," and i bet those were the only guys he interviewed...yeah right. let's not argue about who's right, just live for Jesus...come on people.

  • Every time I watch this the spirit grows within me. Don't be jealous of this guy because he is smarter then Rob Bell.

  • wow "my dads smarter that your dad". grow up! graows or groans?

  • i call all followers of Jesus to pray and love you into a reletionship with the creator of the cosmos, and leave your religion and dogma behind.

  • This is awasome, I think the harsh comments are from those who didn't watch much of it

  • That's pretty presumptuous. I watched the whole thing and I'm not crazy about it. ...mostly because I think this guy is missing the point that Rob Bell was trying to make in BULLHORN.

What if I said most of the people who like this video haven't seen BULLHORN?

  • Then you should read Luke 12:15.

  • you have no idea what you are talking about, i have known him for seven years and i there are few people that that live as simple as he does. If it were not for Kristen he would prolly live in the ghetto with the homeless. your ignorence shines like a city on a hill. i apologize for the personal attacks though. i pray that God blesses you with all the hidden knowlege, not based on the basic princeples of this world.

  • Whatever Michael Jackson. I challenge you to read the Bible then you can trash talk me.

  • Nooma is going to burn in hell. Christians need to realize he is twisting the words of the Bible. God bless

  • wow 999 every time you type i dont think you could get any more ignorant or any closer to the devil, but then you prove me wrong.

  • Learn the two great commandments and place the ten commandments in their context.

    They're both all about love.

  • What will make the people of this secular world around us, who have lives filled with a smattering of Christian ideas, listening to press stories filled with Christians talking of hate and of condemnation... what do people in this world need to hear? More hate and condemnation?

  • If you feel that Rob Bell isn't mentioning the gospel sufficiently in the Nooma videos - well, that's ok, but they're for the saved, not the unsaved.

If you feel that the only valid way to love people is to convict them of their sin, well, I'm sorry, you are wrong. Only the Holy Spirit can convict people of their sin.

  • Christians ESECIALLY american christians should stop preaching the 'gospel' according to the american jesus!

  • This man is a genius. Does anyone know if this guy has videos to sell. Thanks, god bless

  • This guy is the real deal. He brings up a good point when he say's Rob Bell is a child of the devil. This guy seems really nice and he knows what he's talking about. Great video!

  • Seems ironic to me that Paul "open air" preached at mars hill. I'm sure Pastor Bell would have had an issue with him too.

Act 17:22 Then Paul stood in the midst of Mars' hill, and said, Ye men of Athens, I perceive that in all things ye are too superstitious.

Act 17:31 Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead

  • you are hilarious, "open air" pshht you look at the world through your western agenda colored glasses. and with a disgusting translation of the original scriptures and there context. you prolly think that Paul was a nazi too ehh?

  • i think its time we throw off narrow minded Christianity, and realize we are saved by love and forgivness. IT IS NOT OUR JOB TO JUDGE OR CONNDEMN PEOPLE.Show the love of Christ, and God will then deal with his sin. i like Rob Bell. we need to embrace a postmodern truth

  • We were not saved by love, we are saved through Jesus shedding His blood on the cross. Jesus did not call us to just love people and leave the rest up to Him. He called us to "preach the gospel". You can't just preach about love, you also have to preach about God's Justice. Becuase HE is a just God, He will require a punishment for our sin. That punishment is death and eternal seperation from the presence of the Almighty God. "Repent for the Kingdom of Heaven is near..." Not my words. Matt. 3:2

  • what was it that brought Jesus to the cross, some sort of sense of duty? it was love, true love for the beings that cary His image.

  • Jimdawg, did you here about that guy that found Jesus' grave. It's so crazy. About his coffin was full of gold and jewels. They also said they found a crown of thorns in the coffin. It has to be Jesus. They are gona show them opening the coffin on TV. Do you think it's going to trigger the second coming?

  • the tomb is empty, and that documentary was done by a movie maker. what a scam. it is another ploy by ignorant dogmatic people with very poor intelect and imaginations to discredit the most historicaly acurate writings ever with just diplorable archaeology. i mean they even translated Jesus name wrong. what a joke. and read 2 peter about jesus coming back.

  • beware sasha, people are out there to discredit truth, a wolf in sheeps clothing can look enticing. but they can cause much damage to people whose faith is week, and to truth in general. including the amazing science of archaeology.

  • So you don't think it's real? Thanks, Jim

  • it is far away from the description in the text. look into it for yourself though. its more important that you trust and search the scriptures than trusting me or anyone else in cyberspace!

  • Thanks Jimdawg. You da man!

  • Heh... I didn't watch it myself, but to what you said... Jesus wasn't the only person killed on a cross, and perhaps not the only person to have a crown of thorns placed over his head. Don't believe everything over TV.

  • This guy is absolutely lost! ARE YOU GUYS READING THE SAME BIBLE!!! Read through the Bible again.. and notice what kind of change Christ's death actually made. You people are disrespecting our Lord's death! This is all an entire load of lies.. utter crap.

  • Have you guys actually ever read Rob Bell's statement of faith? It's waaaay off from actual Biblical doctrine. He paints a nice picture of love and forgiveness, but leaves out the important reality of God's condemnation of sin, and the reality of punishment. Perhaps that's because Bell doesn't believe in the hell that is specifically defined in the Bible.

  • The religious leaders of Israel's first century had the same types of problems with Jesus that this guy has with Bell.

  • amen

  • read your Bible

  • I think you got that analogy backwards.

  • I appreciated this video a lot.

I just wanted to say in response to the statement about "But God loves us. That's not what the Bible says at all."

That is what the Bible says. God does love us. Nothing can seperate us from the love of God.

These people are sick, and they need to be saved, but they are still loved.

  • Wow what a pompous ass. It surprising that someone associated with 'Way of the Master' would be so condescending and disparaging towards people. Oh, wait I get it: He is a Christian. Rob Bell seems like a nice guy, but he is not very inspiring either. A lot of 'Deep Thoughts' about stuff most people already realize, feel, or think. When ever I watch a NOOMA, I say "Wow, Rob, what an obvious and derivative point you are making. And its in a modern context so that means I like it."

  • This man has the ride idea, but hes gone about it all the wrong way. Why not just create a video that doesnt have to attack someone else spreading the Word? The Word is always what it is, but, the same Scripture for one person can mean something a bit different depending on where they are in their lifes walk.

  • Hmm... I disagree there brother. Scripture means what it means.

  • Ok, but then do you believe only one translation is correct? See, unless you read the original scrolls, you are reading an interpretation. Plus, unless you understand entirely all context of each text, how it was written and so forth, your world view is going to influence how you take the Scripture.

I would say its ignorance for anyone to think that the bible, word for word means just that because I can 2 or 3 dif versions of the bible and get 2 or 3 dif interpretations.

  • By your logic, there is only one version of the bible thats true. And really, techincally, it cant even be the KJV because it was interpreted by scholars - meaning, humans. The original text written on the scrolls were the only true, God written documents as He spoke to those who wrote. Everything since then has been the work of scholars interpreting what they have. Which is why we have 40 dif versions of the same book...

  • Secondly, Rob Bells videos are meant to focus on specific, small areas of different issues in the Bible. They are very well written and they do a wonderful job of conveying a message in a very modern context.

  • Without getting into toooo much detail, heres a few things to ponder.

He really comes off to me as accusing Rob Bell of practicing a life that doesnt make people repent of their sin. He also makes me feel like hes condemning Bell for spreading the Word of God.

So, if this guys also trying to spread the Word of God, how effective is it to do it while blasting a fellow Christian? hmm...

  • Wow, this is sad! He has completely missed Rob's point. He misquotes and he has poor logic. Escapist theology is at best an ineffective method and at worst it gets in the way of people understanding the true nature of the creator of the universe.

  • He uses an EXCELLENT logic.

  • Wow, this is really unfortunate! He has really missed Rob's point altogether.

  • This is in mostly corect and thats one reason why I am an Atheist. More reasons are found in the bible.

  • - "christian malpractice" - "we have to warn people" - "Children of the devil" - that cant be more unbiblical...sooo much bad theology - its sad! - "afraid of hell?" scare people into the kingdom

  • I rather scare people into the Kingdom than lovingly pat them on the back and send them on their way to hell.

  • And your the reason Christians have a bad name in our society. God NEVER told us to scare people into the Kingdom. He did, however, tell us to love them. What were the two GREATESTS commandments? Love God and love people. Christians were never called to be the saviors of humanity. Jesus has already done that.

  • Todd is telling us to be doctor reason. As opposed to the doctor that JUST talks about hell, or JUST talks about love, or JUST tries to be cool.

Did Jesus scare people into the Kingdom? Read Matthew 10:28... Who knows, maybe he'll scare YOU in.

  • Hey man...my Bible tells me that Jesus came into the world to save the world, not condemn it. I will live and walk in the love that God has told us all to live and walk in. You can use the Bible to spread whatever hate and fears you have within yourself but don't expect everyone to be so quick to spread the same message, my "brother".

  • You couldn't misunderstand me more.

  • I don't want people worshipping a jesus that doesn't care about sin and righteousness. I don't want people worshipping a jesus that doesn't tell us we have to die to ourselves and take up our cross. I don't want people to worship a jesus that isn't the only way to heaven. These jesuses are WORTHLESS idols and they are not the Jesus Christ the gospels depict. I am not spreading hate, but I am spreading a fear of God. For it was grace that tought my heart to fear, and grace my fears relieved.

  • you missed the point - you said bell said things he doesnt say - bell talks about sin, repentance, and judgement in his sermons - secondly you present a one sided view of the gospel - the point of salvation is not soley about the cure from sin - its not just that - youve missed it...when does jesus talk to an unbeliever and use escapist theolgy to scare them into the kingdom - he does not - this guys reasonings are hilarious

  • blah blah blah I could sit you down and recite lyics from any Led Zepplin album and that can sound pretty scary too or loving and caring aswell . It`s your choice to believe in that novel and to take it way too seriously ,get a life .

  • Wow... are they being serious?! How could anyone miss the point so very blatantly? Our buddies at "Way of the Master" definatly misunderstand Rob Bell's Bullhorn.

  • So please don't be so condemning of someone who is trying to bring people to Christ. Please don't condemn someone else's method of conversion as long as it isn't hurting the process, which is what "Bullhorn Guy" ultimately does. He hurts the image of Jesus Christ, and loving people does not do this.

  • Good point, but I have one question: After all of this reasoning and going to someone you don't know (usually males between the ages of 18-25 who have been told beforehand what is going on), where do you go from there? Do you just say, "Okay, you're a Christian now. Go and be good." Or do you help them with their struggles? Do you love them? Pretty much you and Bell are saying the same thing from different angles. You cannot be just loving and you cannot be just condemning.

  • This is DEAD ON. Great video.

  • Great video - makes a great point.
