Great bunch of guys right there. Played alot of festivals they were at to and they are down to earth as it gets. One of the very few bands that are friendly. Alot of em are snobbish!....Great banjo work Kristin, as always!
@vireogilvus um.... respectfully, you are just plain wrong here. This is played and sung in a very authentic, crisp and extremely musical manner... the "sterility" you lament may simply be the lack of intonation and other musical inaccuracies and mistakes that often accompany amateur bluegrass music. These guys are true professionals, and it shows in a lot of ways. The harmonies, the accents, the rhythms.. all spot on and definitely bluegrass. Got my toes tapping clear up to my eyeballs!!
@megmow7 I know!! I will be seeing her and the Grascals in about three weeks. I also recently purchased her rare release from 2002 on Pinecastle Records, called "Straight Paths." Aside from Jim Mills, she is my favorite banjo player other than, of course, Earl Scruggs.
Awesome bluegrass version! Just wished the instruments would have been sinc'ed with the music, would've made a tad better.....in my opinion, but great job nonetheless!
You gotta love this grascals' version of the monkee's last train to clarksville - i do! i know all the words, can dance to it - and i'll give it an 11 out of possible 10! Just cause its "GROOVY"! LOL
