There will be a $1,000,000 more likely with Regis during the two week special because it was always easier on his version on ABC anyway. Primetime brings in more money, primetime is going to give away more money. If noone gets to $1 million, they will come a lot closer. When he hosted people would regularly get to $32,000 using no lifelines and the first winner didn't use a single lifeline until the final question....which he only used to call his Dad to tell him he was going to win.

The old format got too boring for most people so they spiced it up. The 50:50 was the most unpopular lifeline so they axed it in favor of the double dip and added Ask the Expert to give more help because of the new clock -- which some people scolded because it "adds to much pressure" but over this entire last season, contestants agree it improved the performance of their game (less second guessing) and more money has been won this season than any previous season.

And, of course, Double Dip came from Super Millionaire, and Ask the Expert was a modified version of the 3 Wise Men (also from Super Millionaire).

Those original lifelines were getting a bit old, but really? The 50:50 was pretty much the best one ever!

Contestants would get 2 ideas at an answer only to have them remaining afterwards!

Sure, but in theory the show would want the host to read through all of the answers--it's just that this format encourages someone who's quick to just cut her off before she gets to read the answers.

Like this show is being all about time and I'm down with that--but in other shows when its about speed, the hosts usually speed up their speaking to be fair to the contestant.
