Dude... the egg farm from the original film appears to be at 0:29... although the eggs look different suggesting the plot of this film is about how the xeno's came to be like they were in Alien....
I think the Xeno's from Alien will turn out to be evolved from whatever is the villian in this.... I think it will end with a shot of the recently deceased Space Jockey as it's homage/link to Alien.
Ridley Scott referenced Erich Von Daniken (of ancient aliens fame) and the film is named Prometheus so that leads one to believe the film will center around the origins of mankind and or life in the universe. Whoever created the aliens (in the film) probably also created mankind - this will probably be at the center of the story line. Can't wait to see it either way.

@chindleymuffin a prequel to Alien in theme and concept, there are a lot of unanswered and unexplored areas of Alien and personally I am so thankful he isnt showing us a single alien cause as much as i love those first two films I am done with the alien mythos. As for the rating. Go back and watch Scotts orginal Alien and tell me that would recieve an 18 certificate today, in fact the directors cut was rebranded a 15 on DVD.
i love every alien movie, they are all great but this one could really be knocked the fuck out of the park. it could blow avatar, lord of the rings, any other big budget big special effects movie out of the water i cannot wait to get baked as fuck and sit back in the theater and see this shit on the big screen
@PylonOvBlack Avatar was successful because it was mindless action and eyecandy. A movie that actually requires the audience to think generally does far worse. Look at 2001: A Space Odyssey and Blade Runner.
Mr Scott when he creates a movie, does it with incredible precision & realism.
He has directed alien & blade runner and then stopped science fiction for around 30 years cause he is not so much into this genre.
So, if after 30 years he finally decides to come back to SF movie, you can expect to be blown away far more cleverly, visually, emotionaly & philosophically than with avatar.

One of the rare times I see an attempt at creating a different looking (original) helmet like in Kubrik's work. Whoever was/were the artist/s on this movie did a great job. Also amazing to see some Giger designs come to the screen again. I've been fed up with all the imposters and their blobby goo alien corridors. There is only one H.R. Giger!

@ion010101 Of course it's possible that he got part of it right by intelligent guessing, but my feeling is that Scott wouldn't want to go down a "seeded earth" story, like 2001. Although it does beg the question as to why the crew of the Prometheus is investigating an alien race as to humanity's origins. If there isn't an alien influence story involved, then why are they there? We'll find out in June.

Everybody who's still wondering about its connection to Alien:
The movie is about the space jockeys (the giant fossilized creature from the first movie) and NOT the familiar alien/xenomorph. That's why they say it's not an Alien movie, if they did people would expect the famous xenomorph.
It's also way more ambitious than 'just' an Alien prequel, it's much more expensive and bigger in scope than the others and tells a whole new story with all new characters, set in the Alien universe.
It HAS to be related to Alien, they have the space jockey, face burning something, and even did the trailer JUST like the first alien movie. (look it up on youtube: Alien Trailer)
So either they're keeping it underwraps, or it's one of the largest overlooked copyright infringements of all time.
Alien Fans, go watch this movie in theaters and support Ridley Scott. Alien 3, 4, and AVPs were f**ked up by different directors. Ridley Scott is a one of a kind and has worked hard on bring us another great alien movie so please support him and his cast. I hope H.R. Giger is really part of creating the new aliens this time. Thanks to H.R. Giger for his wonderful work.

@TheBathBoys haha. yeah actually I KIND OF take that one back because I did like it in some ways but really hated it because the marine guy died in the begining. That kind of ruin the movie for me. But other then that, the sound, atmosphere, and actors were pretty good. I just thought they could of done better with the story in part 3. The only thing I thought was cool in part 4 was that they clone Ripley and the aliens, but then that made the movie stupid. Bad story, acting, etc.

Also I'm interested in how the title pertains. The creation of man from clay and the theft of fire are two important things to keep in mind. The creation of man is suggested by the trailer "they went looking for our beginning". The thieving of something otherworldly or god like isn't clear yet.
So the planet (where they find the eggs in Alien, and where the settlers go in Alien 2) was not always stormy, dark and badass.. maybe we will see the reason in Prometheus.
How can this not be part of the same universe as alien? you see the alien eggs, and the space jockey ship.... its obviously the same universe, and takes place before Alien - which in my book makes it a prequel. Even the way the word 'Prometheus' appears is exactly like Alien. I think ridley scott is just having a laugh by saying its not related to alien.

Now that the main attraction as in the Xenos has been milked to its fullest and totally exhausted. The one man who started it all off has returned to bring his masterpiece full circle with Prometheus.

@ion010101 Of course it's possible that he got part of it right by intelligent guessing, but my feeling is that Scott wouldn't want to go down a "seeded earth" story, like 2001. Although it does beg the question as to why the crew of the Prometheus is investigating an alien race as to humanity's origins. If there isn't an alien influence story involved, then why are they there? We'll find out in June.

Everybody who's still wondering about its connection to Alien:
The movie is about the space jockeys (the giant fossilized creature from the first movie) and NOT the familiar alien/xenomorph. That's why they say it's not an Alien movie, if they did people would expect the famous xenomorph.
It's also way more ambitious than 'just' an Alien prequel, it's much more expensive and bigger in scope than the others and tells a whole new story with all new characters, set in the Alien universe.

Alien Fans, go watch this movie in theaters and support Ridley Scott. Alien 3, 4, and AVPs were f**ked up by different directors. Ridley Scott is a one of a kind and has worked hard on bring us another great alien movie so please support him and his cast. I hope H.R. Giger is really part of creating the new aliens this time. @TheBathBoys haha. yeah actually I KIND OF take that one back because I did like it in some ways but really hated it because the marine guy died in the begining. That kind of ruin the movie for me. But other then that, the sound, atmosphere, and actors were pretty good. I just thought they could of done better with the story in part 3. The only thing I thought was cool in part 4 was that they clone Ripley and the aliens, but then that made the movie stupid. Bad story, acting, etc.

How can this not be part of the same universe as alien? you see the alien eggs, and the space jockey ship.... its obviously the same universe, and takes place before Alien - which in my book makes it a prequel. Even the way the word 'Prometheus' appears is exactly like Alien. I think ridley scott is just having a laugh by saying its not related to alien.

According to Scott, though the film shares "strands of Alien's DNA, so to speak", Prometheus will explore its own mythology and universe and is not directly linked to Alien. Filming began in March 2011, and Prometheus is scheduled for release in the USA on June 8, 2012 through 20th Century Fox.

Ridley left the "main attraction" there (all those eggs), and every directors played with that Idea, but None of them took notice of the "Bigger Picture" in the Space Jockey lol. Now that the main attraction as in the Xenos has been milked to its fullest and totally exhausted. The one man who started it all off has returned to bring his masterpiece full circle with Prometheus.
