The prelude is more important then the main FF theme. Even FFX, which didn't have the main theme, had the damn prelude, even though it was in a remix and without the main melody.

FFXIII doesn't have the prelude. What does that say about how the series is today?

Actually the reason it was called Final Fantasy was because Hironobu Sakaguchi, the original creator, was at the end of his rope and put the rest of his money into this game, thinking it was going to be the last one he'd ever make. It became surprisingly popular and he decided to make sequels and thus began the life of the Final Fantasy series. But anyways, that's why it's called what it is, now that you think about it, it's kind of ironic now.

You aren't going out on a limb. Final Fantasy is the single most loved RPG out of RPGs. Now for those Legend Of Zelda fans, can you imagine if Square-Soft/Enix made Legend Of Zelda? Just how much better would it have been, even tho Legend of Zelda is the best Nintendo game ever. Both games have epic music and story. But I would still love to see Legend Of Zelda game in a Final Fantasy type of style. All in all, Final Fantasy = 100 of 100. LOZ = 99 of 100.

@SOFShadow i think in most places it is, but in Japan, DQ (also from same company) is pretty high on the list of loved RPGs since forever. also the more recent "Tales of" series is doing pretty good. FF gained worldwide acceptance and lost those who love the original 6 games when they changed their style to purely graphics based since FFVIII onwards.
