Wow, yes I remember watching this show in 98 on UK sky. The best one was indeed with Aphex Twin and Soundgarden... I was about to back pack across Canada and watching these late nights films on German T.V. really wet my appetite for travel, the music was great and I too taped some but can't find the tape now :(

Space Night was the best. Many fond memories of watching it in the 90's. Just chilling and enjoying the views. Thanks for posting. I have a 4hr video somewhere full of space nights that I taped from the TV.

If you got satellite or anyother chance search for BR Alpha. They still braodcast it during the night. from 2:oo until 6 o clock german time.

The visuals of the program were, indeed, like this, but the music didn't consist of crappy corporate rock. That's the huge difference.

I don't think the first couple of Space night albums were so chilled as you might think, they eventually progressed to be the ultimate chillout visual experience in the later albums. I loved watching that show on analogue SKy Tv & now we are all Digital, so alas no more apart from good old Youtube.

im still in love with space night ;-). got several sampler on CD/mp3. coming home from a party or something and then just chilling/tripping to the earthviews on BRalpha... aaaw, thats nice :-). the show is still running EVERY night!

I grew up watching this as a teenager, whilst whilst late night surfing of Astra channels ;) it's so cool! For those of you in Europe, Amazon Germany sell the Space Night dvd plus lots of similar ambient sounds/ trippy images type dvds.

I used to watch Space Night on one of the German channels on Sky....brilliant ambient music, and stunning visuals! I always wished I'd videoed some of it for those night when I couldn't sleep!!!

BR Alpha is a very good station! i was used to watch it every night, but now i got cable tv and cant watch it further. this channel is a german education channel with very high quality. im glad, at least ukpeeps can watch the show ;)

BRAlpha on the astra satellites show this post midnight. I still watch this from the uk. I think it usually comes on after Bob Ross. What a TV station!

In about 1994 I took back a complilation tape of SPace Night I'd rcorded to university. I used to play the tape accompanied by Adventures Beyond the Ultraworld by The Orb which is an album all about space. Post clubbing at 5am they'd be a room of upto about 15 people in various recreational states would gather in hushed silence to watch and it became a weekly fixture. If I heard someone say 'It all makes sense to me now' once I heard it a thousand times.

My name is darron and I live in shropshire uk, space night is a big part of my life, I was hooked from 1997, and minidisc'ed the whole series of Earth views, which I still listen to now. Amazing stuff if you like ambient techno music. My favorite is "New frontiers" from 1998. I think that they still show earth views late at night every week day.
