I eat like a crazy, don't excersice, am quite lazy to be honest, but work very hard to not let this happen to me! I feel for him, wish he had the treatment and love I did!

@7beers I was Facebook friends with Jeremy. He did spend time with his family. It must have been so painful for them to watch his disease progress. He also had many FB friends who told him we loved and cared about him. I'm sure that his brain was not able to function well because of the starvation. I miss him and think of him often, even though we'd never met in person.

It's sad to see this story, I have an eating disorder too but it's the opposite of his I have a weight problem (obesity) but when I look myself in the mirror I don't see myself so fat, strange isn't? Also when I eat too much I do exercise to feel better (1 1/2 of bycicle each day), I love to exercise but I love to eat too so it's hard for me to understand anorexia but also I do in a way, maybe it's because I was born with a pretty face and body that I'm hiding my body in my fatness out of fear.
@Elyannia I think I have one too, only it's unlike yours or Jeremy's. I easily consume on the average of 3000 calories a day because I think I look a LOT like him (180lbs, 6.1ft).

He made these to help other out there. I for one hold him in the utmost regard.
He was psychologically abused in childhood by his stepfather. Societal homophobia played a part too. Anorexics I've known have been taught at some point early on that they are worthless to their very core, and have no defense mechanism against it.

@amb817 Yes, he died from his disease, he weighed only 66 ponds at the end. We were friends on blogspot (never met him in person - just online! I´m in germany). He was forced into treatment a couple of times and in his blog he BEGGED people to help him out there, he didn´t want any treatment anymore and refused to cooperate. I think he just gave up, it was terrible to read how he was fading away more and more. I tried everything, but there was no way to encourage him getting help anymore.
@facellina I think he couldn´t take it anymore. The disease to him was stronger than his will to survive. Jeremy had many personal problems that haunted him badly. He was aching for support, but as soon someone encouraged him to continue his treatment he turned distant, he didn´t want to hear that. Till the end he claimed he doesn´t need treatment and that the treatment is only making it worse, he felt humiliated and set too much under pressure when he was in therapy, he was not cooperating.
@facellina I don't know why Jeremy refused the treatment; I can only make an educated guess. He was in the advanced stages of his eating disorder. One factor is that his brain was not receiving enough nutrition for him to think rationally, even without the underlying mental illness. Maybe he refused the feeding tube because he was terrified of gaining weight. I miss him a lot.

Anorexia is a mental disease like others ( depresion, anxiety, schizophrenia). The patient can´t see the reality about his body. He only thinks in a perfection that doesn´t exist. But the anorexia is not the problem here, is a symptom of a hurting soul.

We all need to help people like this understand how wonderful they are and how just eating right and workout normally will do just fine it's a long hard struggle but if we think before we speak and support who ever is dealing with this becuase it's not easy to feel bad about how you look

my condolences to friends and family--he died from his diease -anorexia (which I think also interacts with depression and anxiety)..I saw his blog and I wish I had talked to him sooner--and got to know him..

I suffered from anorexia and bulimia for almost two years, and it was the biggest nightmare of my life, it doesn't just hurt u,it also hurts the people around you, and the worst part is you can't really control it, it's like a drug, it's something so hard to explain, it's pretty painful, people that haven't suffered an eating disorder would never understand, they even think it's easy to get over it but it's not... it can destroy you sooo much... i feel so bad for that guy, he is so gorgeous

I suffer from this and what I saw was a great man...not one to be look at like a bug under a micro... Think he made these for your sympathy or pity? NO! Take him home and feed him... right!

He was psychologically abused in childhood by his stepfather. Societal homophobia played a part too. Anorexics I've known have been taught at some point early on that they are worthless to their very core, and have no defense mechanism against it.

@amb817 Yes, he died from his disease, he weighed only 66 ponds at the end. We were friends on blogspot (never met him in person - just online! I´m in germany). He was forced into treatment a couple of times and in his blog he BEGGED people to help him out there, he didn´t want any treatment anymore and refused to cooperate. I think he just gave up, it was terrible to read how he was fading away more and more. I tried everything, but there was no way to encourage him getting help anymore.

@facellina I think he couldn´t take it anymore. The disease to him was stronger than his will to survive. Jeremy had many personal problems that haunted him badly. He was aching for support, but as soon someone encouraged him to continue his treatment he turned distant, he didn´t want to hear that. Till the end he claimed he doesn´t need treatment and that the treatment is only making it worse, he felt humiliated and set too much under pressure when he was in therapy, he was not cooperating.

@facellina I don't know why Jeremy refused the treatment; I can only make an educated guess. He was in the advanced stages of his eating disorder. One factor is that his brain was not receiving enough nutrition for him to think rationally, even without the underlying mental illness. Maybe he refused the feeding tube because he was terrified of gaining weight. I miss him a lot.

mental illness is real suffering,more so in severe cases than any physical one.Furthermore none of them are self induced,they are caused when a genetic vulnerability meets some environmental stress.

Anorexia is a mental disease like others ( depresion, anxiety, schizophrenia). The patient can´t see the reality about his body. He only thinks in a perfection that doesn´t exist. But the anorexia is not the problem here, is a symptom of a hurting soul.
