  • The best music has a good balance between melody, phrasing and technical ability (this is such)

  • this is the version that should be on the cd

  • GOD is having ROMANCE with his guitar........

  • is he playing through all those mesas at once?

good player plus gud equipment = awesome

  • sounds like his track dedicated to 9/11, watched him play at a music store in thousand oaks a couple of nights ago, he is amzing, and such a pleasant human being!...he's on my new list of fave players!

  • @mkilner This track is called Gone

  • Does anyone know if this is a title track on some album?

  • Powerful performance!! Id pay to see this kind of soulful guitarist live! Thank you Andy For such an awesome song and performance even to a camera and not to big crowd.

  • Amazing solo. Anyway, I hate this guitar compared to the original AT model. This looks like a PRS and Strat hybrid.

  • Andy Timmons is WAY underrated. Go Andy! =P

  • Really nice, wish i knew him sooner.

  • I thought that the guitar was a PRS until i saw the headstock xD

    IBANEZ FTW

  • incorporating all styles is also key. always learn new things on the guitar even if you have been playing for a long time..

  • 3 peolpe are stupid!!

  • I love his tone. Suitable for power/soul solo

  • Wow I think I just found my new favorite guitar player....

  • Nice diminished sounds... what a great musician, thanks for posting!!

  • I met timmons, nice guy. powerful guitar playing as well.

  • I just love his sound. Andy should be one of the biggest guitar heroes on the planet.

  • He's awesome!Mr Timmons,you're underrated!

  • I can prove shred is easier to play than "music", which is what this is. Spend a few minutes in Guitar Center. You will see teenagers come in and shred through arpeggio sweeps, blazing tapped runs, and fast and heavy drop D chunka riffs. However, you will almost never see a youngster pick up a Strat and play anything that required anything other than muscle memory. What Timmons does, is use incredible hand tone and artistry to make music. Nothing wrong with shred, I love it. But theres more!

  • @MrDarinWarren although i do agree with what your saying,,its not necessarily always true..the shred style has its one difficulty and technique just like any other style, and not everyone can play it...i happen to play lots of style and can appreciate from artists liek andy timmons to the likes of i dunno say megadeth or something...what people need to realize that music doesn't have to be a certain one thing, and that there is good music everywhere not just in one genre or style..

  • @itsvoogle :)

  • @MrDarinWarren

    WORD:

  • @MrDarinWarren im one of those rare teens that plays melody driven guitar emulating a satch/timmons sound. I go to my local music store and see tons of metal heads shredding though so i know what u mean. Im only interested in making passionate music that has a good listening melody to the point where my non-guitar playing friends can enjoy it too. not mindless shred

  • @RockNRoller294 That's awesome.

  • @RockNRoller294 100% bro!!!!!!

  • Vai and timmons are worlds apart timmons is kind of a vintage guitar player with tasty phrasing and amazing tone and vai is an innovator always searching for something new and an amazing composer but theyre equally good as guitar players.

  • Does anyone know what kind of Delay Andy Timmons uses?

  • @dablueiguana in the dvd 1 he shows his pedals dude

  • @EscalaCer0 I watched it! He talks about all of his pedals EXCEPT his delay...

  • @dablueiguana loool baad luck dudexd

  • @EscalaCer0 Effen' worst dude. Because I'm sure it's not a boss pedal since he's all about the true bypas

  • @dablueiguana analog memory man delays, 2 of them one set at 350 the other at 500 ms to be exact ;)

  • timmons and vai are different, andy has more a jazzy and classic approach, steve on the other hand has more of a metal approach. theyre both great incredible guitar players, but you cant compare them

  • I tried to pause this video and youtube wouldn't let me. I guess it is too awesome to stop

  • after GONE, what is the song that he plays??

  • Comment removed

  • @systemofadiego ''Redemption'' from his(Andy Timmons band) latest album.

  • @filipdinev1 Man thank you so much, I couldnt find what song it was!!

    Thank you!! :D

  • @systemofadiego I highly recommend Anyd's latest album ''Resolution''. First of all it's pure music creativity. Second of all, it sounds like monster. Third and impressing is the fact that there's only one guitar recorded on each track, no backing guitars :)

    Filip...

  • holy shit..

  • I used to eat Thanksgiving with his wife's family, so me and him would jam while the food was getting ready! LEARNED SOOOO MUCH!!!!! Miss the old days alot right now watchin this.

  • @Wunderburn do you know how jealous i am of you right now? I usually don't comment on vids and my jealousy warrants a comment...that's how jealous.

  • One of the best out there right now but trying to resurrect Joe Satriani in this fashion is futile. Joe has been doing this since 1985. I love Andy's approach and obviously he is worthy of the throne but I am still drawn toawrds the man that started this whole world.

  • awesome!

  • What's the song?

  • song is called Gone- andy wrote for the 9/11 victims at WTC

  • @GigoTheDoctor It's ''Gone'' from his lates album...

  • @filipdinev1 I LOVE YOU I WAS LOOKING THIS SONG EVERYWHERE

  • The main lick is a copy of a Brazilian music..

  • Even if it is, the melody has never been sounding THIS good!

  • This video should have ended before the start of the composition to keep it intact.

  • it sounds dangerously close to Frank Sinatra's Strangers in the Night...

  • He plays with great passion and feel. The two most important essence of great guitar playing.

  • sounds like brazilian music, bossa nova

  • what's the name of the song on demonstration 3?

  • Gone

  • Redemption from the Resolution album

  • Where can I get this guitar?? I saw a brand new Andy signiture guitar but I like the original old one..!

  • huh i thought this is the new 1? there are only 2 from the AT series, 1 is this mahogany 1, the other is the alder-body sunburst 1.

  • I say that Andy Timmons is a type very versatile and listens itself well with any guitar because is not the guitar but the musician

  • If it was a piece of shit guitar he would put it down though.

  • i felt this song

    :O

  • First song is called Gone

  • whats the song,,i like it!!

  • Groove or Die is the song.!!

  • very very very good

  • HAVENT YOU NOTICED THAT ALL OF YOU WHO COMPARED TIMMONS AND VAI HAVE THUMBS DOWN, EVEN IF YOU SAY TIMMONS IS BETTER THAN VAI OR VICEVERSA,

    wanna know why??

    wanna know why??

DO YOU REALLY WANT TO KNOW????

Three words everybody: Matter of Taste.

So just enjoy the show :D!!!

  • completely agree with you man :D lets enjoy the show :D !

  • @Stratfan777 tienes razon, es una tonteria pensar quien es mejor que otro...solo disfruta con la musica!!!!

  • I can't find anything bad to say about Andy Timmons. The guy has incredible feel and chops to go along with it. He's a player's player. I notice something new every time I go back and watch this video that helps my playing.

  • He's got it all, tone, chops, Andy the great!

  • It's not a competition, already. Jeezus!

You'd be hard pressed to find anyone who's ever played with more pure passion and joy than Andy, though. And Mother of God, that TONE...

  • Dear Mesa Shane , totally agree ¡¡

What would we do without these greats musicians ..... beautiful way of playing ¡ ¡

  • the fact that Timmons made that album with just one guitar, and no overdubs,

    just makes him more awesome

he truely is the REAL DEAL

  • What's that song that he plays at 7:35? Deliverance?

  • lol u're absolutely not right. If it was like u say, he would pick up a les paul. So why does he play that guitar?

  • "He should pick another guitar, and it would sound great. It would sound good on a les paul"

That isn't just any old guitar. It's his signiture model he designed with ibanez, i.e. it's tailor made around his specifications, desires and needs as a guitarist.

  • Well then, if I had such a guitar, I wouldn't pick any other over it :)

But I just think that there is a little too much of the high-end, especially in the start. Actually, now I think about it, this guitar seems to be perfect for his style.

  • what song is this??

  • "Gone" from his album Resolution

  • what's the song he plays at the end?

  • What's that song in the background when he is talking about the albums?

  • the song is called "groove or die"

  • Bah du caralho!! timbrera dus inferno!!!!!!!

  • Pure feeling in those fingers =P. Keep it up, nice job Andy, thanks for coming to Chile, it was a really nice experience =)

  • Nusss quanto feeling, que pegada emocionante, musicalidade e bom gosto o bom Timmons tem!! É um mestre musical!! Demaiss mesmo!! Arrepiado estou ^^

  • Awesome video, but it's a tad annoying to listen to Groove or Die when you want to hear what Andy's saying.

  • Hey buddy, you definitely have no idea what you are saying. Andy is nothing of a session guitar player. Please go and do a bit of research before writing those out of place comments here.

You'd better open your mind and start buying other records apart from Vai and Satriani stuff.

  • Haha if you think Andy sounds anything like Satch or Vai then you are very un-musical and need ear training. Andy is big in the US as far as success goes, sans fame, and yeah he is a session player, session players are the Jedi of guitarists, they have to be able to play anything at anytime and do it perfectly, otherwise the producer finds someone else to do the job. Andy is top of the line in that world.

  • im sure all ppl who are musical enough can say that andy has got mad talent. ive never heard any1 that sounds like this guy. he is phenomenal and very underrated. not that satch or vai isnt good, but i dont think they compare to andy

  • Hes got skills but I feel he tries to build music rather then create music. I love his stuff and appreciate it. I think the only song he really feels is Electric Gypsy.

  • ? i'm confused with your comment. every timmons song i've heard has great feeling in it.

  • yea...wth?

Timmons is always very into his songs with emotion. so is every other musician(besides Yngwie lol)

but he has great feel in his playing

  • I'd say he's got way more soul than Vai and Satch, actually that's why I prefer him over other "shredders". But then again, criticizing any of these guys is like winning $1000 and complaining you didn't win $1020.

  • no he's got more soul than vai but not satch like listen to if i could fly , always with me always with you , crying , revelation and so on joe writes better than timmons to me nut timmons is amazing

  • Well, for me it's the other way around. Just listen to songs like Dying Day, Blue Powder, Frank or Warm Regards from Vai. And there are certainly more. In those songs you can almost drown in the amount of soul Vai shows there. Well, at least as far as I'm concerned. All a matter of taste.

  • I guess we'll get to know when we see a G3 with timmons, satriani and vai.

  • I have to agree with you. Satch is very soulfull something that Vai misses. Andy is amazing, this is so beautiful. His sound is spectacular. I love Satch too. A lot.

  • apparently you don't know anything and I am guessing you are just a boy so its ok we forgive you for saying such ignorant things. :D

  • andy builds music? i think u got it way wrong. i think steve is the kind of guy who builds his music. Steve's music and the licks and phrasings he uses is very 'different'.. like his song km pee du wee. very unique and seems designed. there are strengths in that, but andy's strength is definitely the way he 'feels' his music

  • he can do better than this, anyway he is a great player and often deserve to be a guitar hero

  • "Better"????

This was pretty freakin' good!!! What would be better???

  • This was great yes but if you have heard "puppet show" or many other songs you know that he can do better!I'm not saying this is bad!=)

  • not just puppet show, which is metal stuff, but things like the princess, where he goes from totaly subtle to crying like sounds and melody

  • Andy I LOVE YOUR Music!!!
