oops- forgot to mention- that jag sounds awesome. you've got some nice single coil bite coming from those humbuckers- and btw, I own the bass version of the same thing- black body, black pickguard.
i have that same jag, but hot rodded... im thinking about selling it for the new one Fender Classic Player Jaguar Special HH Electric Guitar you might have to get a third :)
I'm actually looking at the Jazzmaster in that new series, maybe used or at a discount somewhere. I've been into the Jazzmaster nearly as long as the Jaguar, but alas finding one for less than $800 has been a pain.
also they put a killswitch in place of the basscut on the jag(but this is fixed easily)... that is possibly their worst decision since the original jag bridge... maybe the retarted 5 way selector on the strat
The things I don't like about the new models are the Adjust-O-Matic bridges with a trem (can you say broken strings?), and that they are around $800 for a mexican model (which seems a little excessive). Besides, a kill switch on a Jaguar is like adding a fork to a gearshift for neutral when you already have neutral in the middle position between all the gears, it's just a waste. I thought on the HH they could at least use it for a group HB coil tap if they are not going to use it for strangle.
actually the tune-o-matic is the main selling point for me, a jaguar w/one has been my dream guitar for a while - because it would solve every problem of the old bridge when replaced with a bigsby style roller bridge - about 29$. As far as im concerned that is the ultimate whammy system - no palm muting problems as with the floyd rose, but with incredible range, great thresh-hold for upbends, no intonation issues. The only issue it might have (which is not unique) is that the other strings will
Hi Creepingnet, Nice new Jag! Sounds nice and chunky but clear and crisp too. Could you please tell me your thoughts about how this compares with your other Jag with the trem? Do you miss the trem?? Does the hard tail allow you to play harder? They both sound great but do you prefere of one over the other? Cheers:-)
Well, I still have the other one, this one compliments it. I might have to leave this in multiple comments too. As for comparison, the one with the trem is a little more midrangey with less treble (probably due to the 500K pots versus the HH's 1MEG pots). Third bridge on this guitar gives off a different effect due to the shorter string length behind the bridge, as well as the different bridge design.
As for the trem, if it were not so expensive, I would love to get a second HH and put a Trem on it, or even have several with different trems being as Jaguars are my favorite guitar design. The hard tail really makes little difference because of how stable I have the other one set up (I worked for awhile with the Jaguar bridge to get it to sustain and keep the strings in place, it's about as stable). The HH does have an issue with the Low E sometimes coming out of the saddle sometimes.
Out of the two, I like my other one more, the neck is thinner, it has a trem, and has a little more midrange dirt compared to the HH (the HH is kind of a halfway between the Jagmaster and my Jag-Stang, it's got the top end sparkle and lows of the stang, but the lower midrange bark of the Jagmaster tacked on, probably due to the pickups).
Thanks mate, I appreciate the feedback. It would be interesting to see what 500k pots and hotter pickups would do to it. Sounds very focused! But as you said, (stock)it's a nice compliment to your other Jag. Keep rockin us out Creeping Net. I love your style.
Awesome, Man! Never thought I hear someone cover this - ya got all the riffs. Cool! You couldn't point me the direction for tabs on this one?

excellent job on an excellent song. as others here have mentioned, "panorama" is a very underrrated album.

And my favorite too. I don't know a single band that has covered any of the songs off of it except Touch and Go.
