  • i'm beginning to wonder about his death. it was really early, and he seemed to have eerily predicted it in his music - like in 'dream brother' and especially in 'grace'....conspiracy?

  • @skillmyster666 I've wondered the same thing...

  • Thanks for sharing this video.

  • he really was an angel

  • This guy is utter perfection in the human race; you cannot say he was an "ok" singer.

  • he was an ok singer but ive heard better but still rest in peace dude

  • @gaaracherry An "ok" singer? All opinions regarding musical taste aside, a poet who has such an incredible vocal range is usually dubbed as something much more than just ok. Sure hope your standards are just really high cause I'm scared to find out what you consider as better. >.<

  • @FlyAway sorry bout that -.- i dont even listen to this music, my mum forgot to log out on my account :/ no offence ment but i dont even know who jeff buckley is, im only a teenager and im clueless

  • @gaaracherry

Unless it's a serious retreat from your earlier comment, which was quite foolish - sit down and listen to Jeff. "Only a teenager" - i'm only a teenager too, but for god sake, turn off MTV and VH1, and GO AND BUY GRACE! One of the best albums you will ever hear

  • @gaaracherry So your mum calls people on the internet 'dude'? How old is she, 16? Music isn't all about 'hearing someone better'. Thats the problem with your silly 'idol' generation. Stop judging, and start LISTENING. This dude WROTE, orchestrated and performed some of the most memorizing and emotionally driven music of the past century. I have not met one musician who does not think the world of buckley, no matter what genre.

  • @gaaracherry clearly you are not apt at judging talent. Have a seat.

  • The parallels between Grace and his death are insane. He definitely knew he was going to die. Specially for someone who goes swimming with boots and jeans. R.I.P Jeff B.

  • My gosh! I really love Jeff Buckley. I listen to him everyday, I just wish I could see him in concert. :( R.I.P Jeff.

  • this makes me cry, probably one of the most talented musicians that was on earth. He has passed away, but his legacy remains. RIP

  • I have a hard time listening to Whole Lotta Love because I know Jeff died listening to it.

  • @ZeY00T00b That's crazy. I am the same way. I used to love that song. Now I feel sick to my stomach whenever it comes on the radio.

  • I remember hearing the news he was missing and hoping..hoping he would be on the other shore..soaked to the bone shaking his head and laughing at how stupid going in the water was and then hitting the studio the next day.

    Then they found his body.

  • @TheFragile89 aww=(

  • Dancer: yes, singer: maybe, musician: how in the hell did you ever come to that you fucking retard. jeff buckley wrote those songs himself. mj had a team of people to help him. jeff buckley is really the only SONG WRITER and musician between them so he has no choice but to win. hop off mj's dead cock and learn something for once. he was overrated

  • how'd he die?

  • @ColibriAnna08 well I just wanted to say what I was thinking and i couldn't think at the time how to put it so it won't sound bad, I'm sorry if you got offended. But I guess I could have Said it like this I personally don't care for his voice it isn't the sound I like. Is that better? um I don't mean to sound dumb but idk what you ment in the last part. Sorry if I had offended you.

  • @aaronjf94 I'm not offended by you at all. I just wish people would understand that an artist not appealing to them doesn't mean they are not good. We all have our preferences, and we hear music in a different way. What I meant in the last part is that a person's voice may not be what you prefer or like personally, but that's subjective, and it doesn't necessarily mean their voice is not good. Is that better? haha

  • Jeff Buckley isn't that good of a singer, it sucks that he died, I only recently just heard one of his songs I heard it because Patrick Stump did a cover and it sounded amazing so I looked up Jeff Buckley then I found that video that patrick coves which was everybody here wants you, and I didn't like the sound of Jeff's voice, check out Patrick's and no I'm not hating I just think Patrick did better.

  • @aaronjf94 If you're not hating, then what is even the point of saying so? Is there even a purpose in that at all other than to satisfy your own opinion? Look, there's a difference between a person's voice not being good and it not APPEALING TO YOU. Learn it well.

  • truly mystical. He was pissed about people pulling out their cameras instead of their inclining souls.

  • truly mystical.

  • Thanks so much for posting this!!

  • he would be 44 if he were alive now

  • Grace is such a amazing song. Musicians can learn a lot from him. Jeff and MJ are together now.

  • @IluvMJandBrunoMars except while mj is just moon walking around, jeff is playing an instrument

  • @ragingbull2001 wats that supposed to mean??

  • @IluvMJandBrunoMars jeff bukley is a better song writer

  • @ragingbull2001 u are kidding me?!! Michael Jackson was a legendary singer and dancer and musician! Everything Jeff Buckley did doens't compare to Michael!!!!

  • @IluvMJandBrunoMars Anyone who has Bruno Mars in their username has no right to comment on any form of music.

  • @93MickyD2 Why?? I love Bruno Mars, he's amazing!! And anyone who says so otherwise doesn't have any taste in music and has no rite to comment on ANY form of music!

  • @93MickyD2 LOL :P

  • JB.....from Jeff Buckley.....to fucking Justin Beiber......Fuck.

  • never forgotten... thanks for sharing

  • Sorry that should have read

    Thank you for posting .......

    We all love Jeff

  • I am in heaven Thank you

  • Best musician ever in my opinion.

  • What a man.

  • hes a good man. R.I.P. soon i will be with you. (90 years or so lol)

  • A bit overwrought but still very powerful. I could have done without the lyrical analysis, seemed a little over dramatic. Still feel sad over our loss in this wonderful musician.

  • If anyone here hasn't read the book Dream Brother by David Browne you should. Browne really focuses on Jeff's last 48 hours or so. The one thing I picked up on from reading about those last couple days is Jeff was not sleeping much at all. Maybe that had an effect on his decision to swim in that harbor. BTW I took a road trip to Memphis and I checked that water out and I sure as shit wouldn't swim in it. It looks nasty

  • Nick Drake, Ian Curtis, John Lennon, Jimi Hendrix, Jeff Buckley. Why why why why why?

  • "The buzz....the heat" The bullshit?

  • creepy fans hehe...

  • @ReginaMysterion I know what you mean, in fact Joan wasser (his girlfriend) said Jeff's personality was like his song "murder suicide meteor slave" at the moment he died.. And I just can't stop thinking about it cuz I feel there so much info missing here! And to think his personality was like that song makes me a little sad cuz I think it's a little disturbing! Not the lyrics but the rhythm of it.. I just keep thinking something told him to go to the river and he knew it was his time to go.

  • @ReginaMysterion Yeah i just hope it was just as penny described it, but did you see his last picture?? It seemed like his mind was somewhere else, like he knew what was about to come. Mary said he talked to him just before he died and he was happier than ever... Who knows maybe he did fight for his life but the river was stronger or maybe he decided to face his destiny being underwater but I'm sure Jeff wasn't planing to kill himself the moment he went in the water singing whole lotta love

  • @ReginaMysterion Maybe u're right and Jeff tried 2 fight but then he stopped, the thing is i read the book "dream brother" and it has the details of what happened that day and out of nowhere Jeff suggests 2 go 2 the river... It makes me think he knew his time had come and he just went 2 face his destiny, that something was telling him 2 get in the river and ignore Keith... Maybe it's just me trying 2 keep the memory of an optimistic full of life Jeff but I just can't get that idea out of my head

  • @denush16 I realize I'm 3 months late to the party but I have yet to read "Dream Brother". If it isn't mentioned in the book... the Mighty Mississippi isn't named that for nothing. The Wolf River at that location is similar to the Mississippi in that it has eddies and strong undercurrents before you add things like barges and tug boats. Jeff may not have known this and we'll likely never know exactly what happened. Gone forever in a literal blink of an eye. Such a loss...

  • bjbler2396, Kudos, for so succinctly stating the truth about Jeff Buckley. Live long and prosper, my friend

    .

  • Gary Lucas gives me nightmares..that smile, oh boy.

  • I'll always love Jeff ;-)

  • He was and always be one of my favorites forever

  • aWW!! :(

  • thank you so much for sharing!!!! miss him so much!!!!! what an awesome tribute!!!! truely a lost talent!!!!!! he was beautiful inside and outside!!!!

  • love it..thank you

  • surprisingly tasteful and illuminating clip - thanks msnbc for not sucking ass like most news reports!

  • I'm 15 and I cry whenever I listen to his music, there's just a simple wish that comes out of his death - I wish he was still here.

  • He changed my life in several ways... but the greatest part... he let me see life true different eyes.... I shaare my emotions with his music... so inspiring...

  • EERIE

  • POP IS VERY PROUD.......

  • its a weird situation , a lot of great musicians had died from sucide, such as kurt cobain, jimi hendrix, leaving fans somewhat bitter toward them but in jbs case it wasnt is fault it was a freak accident

  • jimi hendrix most def didnt commit suicide

  • well theres arguing on to if he did

  • It's a sad sad situation...

  • Makes me so sad. So sad. So sad.

  • hey can someone please tell me what is the name of the song at the end like rain in the fire or something because i typed it in and nothing shows up i wanna hear it. what should i type in the search box or what is the name of the song?

  • @janicefarted He is saying, "Wait in the fire...". The name of the song is, "Grace". Terrific song. I highly recommend you listening to the entire album.

  • yeah. the album Grace is epic!

  • Well, see, you assume he was talking about death. Actually in an interview with him about his song, "Grace", Jeff was actually referring to moving to New York. And please, I'm so tired of religious people acting like they have all the answers. Please stop. Set an example.

  • funny you should say that. It is about death, according to him when he played Grace live in in Sin-e.

"it's about not feeling so bad about your own mortality when you have true love."

Although he also said in an interview that he'd like people to see his music however they'd like to. Related it to whatever they want. Thats the whole point of music if you ask me. Making a personal connection/

  • People will interpret it how they may and I agree, that is the point of music. I was merely stating what I'd learned. Buckley did make that statement in an interview when asked about the song.

I'm not doubting what you say; it's quite possible the song changed meaning to Buckley as well.

  • I recently saw an interview where he mentioned it was about him moving to New York like you said.

    Regardless, beautiful song.

  • Great clip thanks sixninegem!!

  • Goosebumps

  • Great video. Shows us what we`re really missing in this world. Jeff was great in every possible way.

  • penny was right.

  • Incredible! Eternal grace for Jeff.

  • we've got the same birth date.. i feel really grateful for that.

  • Is it normaly that I feel so bad now?

  • Sad...

  • Comment removed

  • Voice of an angel? A gift from god? YES! I miss Jeff!

  • Thank you for posting this sad as it is I had to watch it with tears

  • Tragic loss.

He was a true legend. It's a shame he died so soon.

    ):

  • I guess i gotta believe that the real Buckley fan's felt he was the voice that they'd been waiting to hear their whole lives (I don't mean like Dylan the voice of a generation) I mean his actual singing voice. I know it was for me....Life can be cruel sometimes and I lament.

  • so what?

  • Cornell was right when he said the guy could literally do whatever he wanted musically! Just an amazing talent, everytime I listen to the Sin E" cd it just blows me away that it's just 1 man & his guitar playing & singing this music, I get goosebumps everytime I listen to that cd!!! 4 me personally he's up their with Otis Redding, Marvin Gaye & Aretha Franklin as far as singing goes!!!

  • holy shit this guy was amazing

  • Jeff Buckley was one of the few people who ever lived who I'd call a musical GENIUS. His songs are epic and his artistry shines through more than anyone else I have ever heard. RIP.

  • omg i miss him sooo much!

I mean i envy him like hell but i love him to bits :)

shame... he would've been like some of the only good music played on the radio if he was still alive...

  • oh P.S. im into metal and hard rock but Buckly was the conter to that. thats how good i thinl he is later

  • jeff buckly was one of the best singers in my openion he was great R.I.P bro
