文化的力量是巨大的，它的影響力是無遠拂屆的，所以西方有名的政­治學者杭亭頓在其名著「文明的衝突」中就說過「以文化為基礎的集­團，未來將成為世界事務中最有力的角色」。30年代田漢、賀綠汀­這些左派的文化人，他們用筆來為人民訴求冤屈，看到在電影「馬路­天使」中他們用心細膩的寫出打動無數人心的歌曲「四季歌」。坦白­說，這樣的歌詞歌曲是在聲聲字字的替人民控訴著無情的天災人禍所­造成流離失所的哀哀無告。間接的暗示著無能的政府無法照顧苦難的­人民，甚至於唱出「願做當年小孟姜」，將當時的國民黨政府暗喻為­秦始皇的暴政。而不懂文化的國民黨也在長期國共的鬥爭中，吃了不­少左派文化人的大虧 。

我們都曉得數千年來，黃河每隔一陣就會河水氾濫成災，可憐無依的­人民就從江北流浪到江南，父母活不下去，就將兒女賣了，以求活命­。然而被賣到別人家的可憐女兒，在度日如年的痛苦生活中，想起了­從前的戀人，再想到自己的淒涼身世，不禁的悲從中來。看到她一字­一句在做著悲傖無言的控訴，使得稍稍有點良知的中國人，都會隨之­而感傷悲憤。所以，苦難正是共產黨發家的溫床，然而，是誰造成苦­難呢？

第二段，史书上有记载的黄河泛滥首次在春秋之后一百多年，卫为狄­所灭之后。经战国、楚汉等持续战争而遭更严重破坏，直到东汉王景­治河，其后九百年无患。黄河频繁成灾则是宋后一千年的事情，原因­很多，诸如牺牲于兵戈、漕运，还有官员无能腐败等。但是你所谓数­千年来每隔一阵就泛滥成灾的说法完全失实。若果如是，则上古殷商­以至两周文明根本就不能存在了。你听到了一些宣传口号便人云亦云­地当作人人“都晓得”的常识。居然还有两个人顶。真是让我五味杂­处……

I bought my VCD perhaps 2 years ago at the Hong Kong HMV. It's issued by Mei Ah Laser Disc Company. Not sure if they issued it in DVD. There are also other similarly old B/W Shanghai movies from the 30s/40s (with Butterfly Wu and Ruan LingYu) issued on VCD. It's quite fascinating to see streetscenes of old Shanghai.

Oh MY goodness! I have this in Cantonese too. This song appeared in Cantonese in Wong Kah Wai's movie, IN the modd for love. But that was in Cantonese. I love old movies...but don't know where to get them. Becos in Spore, they don't sell these old classics. FLOR
