  • Exodus 20 is "Thou shalt not commit murder". Please people, get that right. It is not "Thou shalt not kill for any reason whatsoever no matter what". I'm anti-death penalty and I make it a point to help out others who are anti-death penalty to not use invalid arguments that only set us back.

  • @Madams1977 "For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil." (Romans 13:4)

  • @strrb75 Yes, that verse says that we are subject to the laws of our government. However that passage also assumes that justice will always prevail because the minister of God is incorruptible. I hardly think that describes our society. Anyway, my comment was about the difference between murder and homicide by biblical definition. The justified execution of a deserving murderer is not murder. However, that area is so gray these days that I don't think we should be doing it anymore.

  • @Madams1977 i do think that sometimes we over use the death penalty but what about those who commit horrible crimes such as hurting children and just killing people in cold blood? I feel that if your molest and murder a child, rape and murder someone or rob and kill someone at point blank range, your willing to lay your life down. whatever happend to life for a life, eye for an eye and tooth for a tooth?

  • @strrb75 If the crime is heinous, as in the case of Allen Davis, and there is no doubt about the guilt of the convicted then sure I could justify the death penalty. In fact I think they should have cooked that monster slower. But, some of those on Death Row are neither heinous nor monster. If we could administer the death penalty in a fair and humane matter then I could support it. However, with the corruption in our justice system and the problems with the methods, I cannot.

  • @Madams1977 exactly i agree with you 100%. I dont feel we need to abolish the death penalty but i do think it should be reformed and re-evaluated to make the punishment really fit the crime. Because in texas a man got the death penalty and he wasnt even the shooter he was just the get away driver but they gave him death by association which is rediculous.

  • um how do u wake up dead?

  • Such an amazing docu. Tony the activist - you could feel how passionate he was. But that woman - she oozed insincerity. Listen to what she says, she talks about "them" like slabs of meat! Brilliant movie tho.
