I just saw the story of Ma Barker and her boys. They would definately edit out all cigarette plugs on the MeTV showings. This show is still rather cool, and I wished they'd put on TV land now. After all...how many showings of that 70's how, and Friends can one take?
It doesn't get any better than this! Fully unedited, like it was seen some 50 years ago, with all of the commercials intact, such as those for cigarettes, a Brylcreem "jingle" commercial, and an ABC promo for "The Lawrence Welk Show", complete with ABC's famous "Big A" logo! It's definitely not some edited cable or satellite syndicated rerun which are all too common in many other videos on here.
This edition, however is a repeat that aired on March 2, 1961; the preview for the following week's episode, seen at the end, is from "The Antidote", which aired on March 9th. The episode that originally followed this one, on October 20, 1960, was "Jack 'Legs' Diamond"...
The first episode of the second season, orginally telecast on October 13, 1960. Liggett & Myers [Chesterfield] was the series' primary sponsor at the time [veteran radio-TV actor/announcer Jackson Beck, best known as "Bluto"'s voice in Popeye cartoons- and the voice of "King Leonardo"- is speaking for Chesterfield]. Liz Montgomery and David White appear as MUCH different characters than they would portray on "BEWITCHED", four years later.
TV, as my grandparents would have watched it when they were young. Awesome upload, Thank you!!

Lawrence Welk looks like he's being given an enema.

Love this tv series! BTW: what is the name of the tune the band plays at 8:41? I've been trying to get the name of it.
