I love that line: "so here I am with pockets full of good intentions, but none of them will comfort me...." That is such a pretty, pretty song. That sounds like Karen Carpenter singing. A lovely, lovely song. Thank you for the post.
The Carpenters song is a perfect accompaniment to this great 1958 movie "Marjorie Morningstar" starring Natalie Wood, my most favorited Hollywood star. Actually, the theme from this movie is "A Very Precious Love". The versions of Doris Day and the Ames Brothers are the best. Thanks for posting.
Lovely video. I've read the Wouk novel, and Natalie was an ideal choice for Marjorie. Unfortunately, Gene Kelly was badly miscast and extraordinarily inappropriate as Noel Airman, and the movie was a botched job. Another standout, besides Natalie, is the fabulous Claire Trevor as Mrs. Morgenstern.
I have loved this movie for years, I grew up in Schroon Lake, NY where this was filmed years ago. As a child we would go to the old Scaroon Manor and go fishing, swimming, boating and etc, the buildings were all gone, but you could almost imagine what it was like there. The outdoor ampitheatre was still there, though the wooden seats were gone, just the wrought iron frames stood as ghosts of the past, and the stage was caving in. It is now a state park for day use.
A beautifully done video as always, my Darling! I've always loved the Carpenters; Karen's voice is pure poetry that was touched by God. You really captured the hunger for love that I saw in this montage, and I could feel every word and nuance in Karen's voice penetrate right to my heart. I wonder if you are as elegant as Natalie was...Anyway, I loved it, Thank You so much, keep it up, I'll be around. :D
What an excellent video!! I love the music,it fits perfectly with the mood & images you used. I remember seeing this movie years ago & I haven't seen it for awhile but seeing your video makes me want to watch it again. Natalie is so stunning & gorgeous!! Another 5 star video,Colleen!! God Bless!!
Thank you!! I remember seeing this movie on the Late Show after the news went off before we had TCM or AMC. I hope I get to see it again. From what I can remember from the movie you chose the perfect song. You did a fantastic job!!

@edwardjames50 Do not know the movie... could you please explain why was Gene Kelly so miscast? Thanks

@Culieoriginal Gene Kelly was perfectly cast: an older guy putzing with his musical in Marjorie Morningstar.
Can someone please post the title music? It had a lovely song as well over a pan shot of Manhattan across the Hudson River.
