It's usually frowned down upon to compare the lord to us, but within the perfection that is god is the reminder that there will always be the poor and lonely. The question stops being "how will we stop there from being poor" and becomes "how will we care for those who are poor?" and more importantly "in what ways am I poor?". As a proud, vain man myself, I know what ways I am poor. I attempt to fix these faults as I attempt to help others with theirs, using their enlightenment to fuel my own.
It seems that Emmaus Center along with the Apostolic Catholic Church has captured the pure message of the Gospel. Your work with the poor is profound and to be emulated throughout the Church Catholic!
i pseudo agree ...love you heart but God and Jesus transends religions and factions...Bless the Lord jesus who has given to ALL freely...w/o political ana religigious ideology...HIS word is bond and seek th e give not the gift....i dio love the fact that yur standing up for somthing.......
I am so sorry that I have by accident clicked on the "down " hand icon, I meant to click l it up. You are right, this is the pure message of the Gospel, an d it should be emulated throughout all churches which name the name of Lord Jesus Christ. But sadly they don't, and many souls are still wandering in darkness because of their empty testimonies. This song speaks the heart of God! And JM Talbot sings it with depth of meaning.
I played this on accordion this morning at church

Such a beautiful song. The church choir sang this in church. Not as good as this, but they have some amazing singers.
