I'm not positive, but being an amateur magician myself, the most plausible way he does this is slides the bottom card out and in to his other palm when covering it. The way he puts down the "changed" card allows him to double lift it if done skillfully, whereas the other cards he proves there is only 1. Absolutely astounding in how smooth and precise he executes his moves, I LOVE this guy.

@whiteboyninja Noone can make a double lift that way. He had wax or double sided tape on the the face of the aces or on the back of the cards that cover the aces so they can stick together as one but that is something you can't call a double lift.

Even knowing how he does this, it's incredible to watch. The finesse and precision it takes to pull those moves off is insane. Copperfield was a true magician, and not just a showman. Still love the story about how he got mugged outside his show and used slight of hand to conceal the contents of his pockets. Huge balls, to put your magic to the "give me your belongings or we'll shoot you" test.

He gets the card from behind the 4 and covers it up then flips it when his moves up then just double lifts the first card to hide it. Finally he has extra aces and you can tell the multi lift he does when the ace of spades comes up, my friend is 14 and he can do it the exact same...

His right hand is the trick, keep in mind magicians have hands more trained than pianists and surgeons, he slips the aces under the right hand into the sleeve or coat or something. Not sure how, magicians have meny gadgets for that, but the motion is recognizable. Still it is perfectly done, almost impossible to notice even frame by frame, not to mention during a performance.

1:00 Touches the deck "unnecessarily" after he already has the ace. Wonder if those aces under the Ace of Spades could be revealed face up.

And we didn't see the backs of the Queens of Spades or Diamonds... wonder why... Hmmmm!

Youre a bit wrong..the method is simple. Of course he placed aces under the ace of spades (and yes..with a simple turn over switch they could be revealed face up too)..those are duplicates. The other cards are normal too..beside one of each 3 got a sticky dot in the middle (double stick tape). You see how he put the card 3 times (different ways) on top of the ace and when he places them down he shortly presses his thumb on the packet..to make sure they stick..you can show both sides.

Copperfield is a wizard (in the skilled definition of the word). I've been watching this effect for years now. In my opinion this is the holy grail of card magic. Its has a meaningful performance, skilled performer, and perfect music. every time I watch this I get a tear in my eye =)

Terrifice job at the end, combining two basic card sleights: the palm-change, and the double-lift.

If you know these two sleights, you can figure out how he did this (and see how he did it, too). Anyone who doesn't know these manipulations will simply be baffled :)
