@DardEvil1993 No...Guncon and Guncon 2 are only compatible with CRT-based displays...it's Guncon 3 which supports a wide variety of display types, including LCD and Plasma.
@xFlawlessZz Try google "light gun desert eagle ps2" that you may find some stuff about it and maybe some place to sell it and send to your location...right about now it must be overtaken and very cheap...Guncon3 is coming all over which ps3 and LCD/LED technology
wow what the hell mine don't work at all and i have 2 OF THEM! i just got time crisis 3 and i've had these light guns for a long time and they don't work. i have an old tv that can work with it. It shoots, but the game doesn't pick up the gun. can anyone help?
@Jackedjay9 don't know what models of light gun do you have...but mine has a selector on the bottom, so you can select each game mode (GunCon, GunCon2, Auto)... some games doesn't reconize the AUTO function, so you have to manually put it in GunCon or GunCon2, according to the game...
@joeyfagundes depending on the model you get, like 2 or 3 it might also can play I think Resident Evil Dead aim and Dino Stalker because it has an analog stick.
@simplyxwilliam To change weapons, I just shoot at the picture of them, in the middle bottom of the screen, and it's switch one by one. To reload, I just release the action button, it's a button below the trigger, where you grab the gun, you can see me doing the movement of releasing it...
@endrecoterius --on Time Crisis 3 there is a machine gun weapon you can pick up. So tell me how does the gun handle this? It's not smart enough to recoil internally during machine gun so I suspect it would vibrate one time, then stop while machine gun bullets continue to fly. Ps. to test this, please turn OFF that rapid recoil crap! play like a man. One shot, one recoil.
@CruiseCntr Well, first, the gun has the recoil set in AUTO, so, if you pull the trigger once, the recoil pushes ONCE. But, if you pull and hold the trigger, the recoil will keep pushing back, until you release the trigger.
SO, if you are playing with the machine gun, you KEEP holding the trigger, and the gun will KEEP the recoil action 'til you release the trigger.
That's happens when you uses the handgun too, so the number of recoils can be different than the number of shoots.
I'm from Brazil, so...here I buy a lot o things directly from online shops...pretty popular here....In USA or EUR must have some shops especialized on gaming arcticles...I heard a lot of it....
@gilteje uhhh look on amazon.com or half.com and look for the time crisis 2 + guncon2 package or "time crisis 3 +guncon2" package. i got TC3 from half.com but it didnt come with the wire 2 hook it up to the tv. so go with amazon. hope this helped (:
@TheMasterMindish Maybe in other locations this model is called by another name...Here in region we call just Desert Eagle model...but on internet, it's easier to find it by the model number...I think this is a generic light gun compatible with the Gun Con series...
The gun itself is much lighter and at first sight it does not give you much confidence of shooting with the recoil, but it's wrong. The most reliable gun I had ever seen...in shops here, there's none to compare...
The only thing I want to change was the distance between the trigger...you have to pull it a long way to "press"...
Ok thanks , 1 more question. How is the recoil powered? I got a Mission light gun by Konig but the recoil doesn't function even after switching it on. There's no manual with this.
Well, there is 2 kind of model, this one of mine it's powered by wire, conected on the ps2 controller port (p2), and this is enough to activate the recoil and the laser pointer.
Also there's a model that uses 2 AA batteries, one for the recoil and one for the laser (if it has)
You maybe are encoutering difficulties to manage the kind of connection allowed in the game with the features of the gun....
Well...I searched on web to games from this genre...I found Time Crisis series, so I want to a market to buy it and I got Time Crisis 3 and Vampire Night for PS2 :P
About the Gun...It's just a Mission Plus High-Clear Games Light Gun, 100hz, compatible P2.
Time Crisis is a auto-duck/reload game, all you have to do is release the A button (in this lightgun model, the A button is just below the trigger, as you can see my fingers releasing it.)
So when you need to duck or reload, just release the A button, and keep it pressed to get up and shoot. :)

No, there isn't any vibration/rumble, just the recoil and it's not much strong...about the weight, it's also much light than it shows..about 150g....

My light gun, for example, I can play Time Crisis 3 em the ps2 using GunCon or GunCon2 standarts, but the recoil only works in GunCon2. :P
