Geoff Holt, the first of any sort of quadriplegic to sail round Britain, is a low-level (C5) quad with some use of his arms. This is not to say he isn't severely disabled (he cannot get in and out of his wheelchair himself and needs someone else to care for him), but there is more distinguishing the two besides their sex.
