I'd say that Xtina mimics Mariah more than I would say Mariah mimics Minnie. Mariah has explored and innovated the whistle register in her career, Xtina, who can barely even hit those notes, just seems to reach for the highest notes she can hit, and they aren't even that high.

why do ppl keep saying that she went worse after 19-watever? I think she was smart to change to hiphop/ r+b, cause if she didnt, she wouldnt be able to sing these songs and would damage her maturing voice. then critics would tell her her voice was bad ( like rolling stones said for mine again, even tho i thought they were reaaaally good on that song), she still sings really well, even tho its more toned down.

You're right. She still has the voice. She only changed because she was having to compete more with teenagers singing mainstream songs. Trust me, I bet she still can sing all her hit songs. That's like saying she should sing all ballads. Vocalist should expand their horizons with other generes, which she did, and still made #1 albums and singles on the charts. Haters fall back!

I love Mariah carey. But vocally she doesnt showcase the old voice. She whispers now! I think her true vocal power is gone. The whisper note will always be their, but powerwise she cant compete with Christina aguilera these days. However, I do take into account that she continues to make good music, regardless if she doesnt possess the power like yesteryears!

Well her voice is stronger then mariahs, who is a whisper singer now! Where is the talent in that. All she does is sing silently now and then uses that high pitched note that is nerve racking! Vocally xstina spanks her easily!

micmic lol! Xstina doesnt mimic anybody if that is true then Mariah mimics minnie ripperton! Christina does have technique. Her style is different then anybody's because she can do things with her voice that others cant because of her power allie! She has an enormous amount of power! Listen to her again closely and try to tell me she cant sing again!

I'd say that Xtina mimics Mariah more than I would say Mariah mimics Minnie. Mariah has explored and innovated the whistle register in her career, Xtina, who can barely even hit those notes, just seems to reach for the highest notes she can hit, and they aren't even that high.
