  • You have some great shots of Roger but need to slow down your transitions just a bit so we can savor the beauty of the man -- esp. the ones with his shirt off!

  • This is the lesser of the videos I've seen about his shots. I'm not sure why most of the video uses shots from the same matches, and even then, some of the ones you have on here aren't that great. Minus the backhand at 2:40, those aren't even close to some of the best I've seen him hit. Just a selection of average Federer shots if you ask me.

  • Great vid!! Federer's forehand is sick, have some vids of me (trying) to copy the straight arm aspect of his forehand. Check it my newest upload on my channel and see if you can tell who my idol was growing up

  • YES! YES! YES!

He is the greatest of all time! King roger I love you <3

  • for serves, you should've shown the 2nd serve ace against kiefer. that had so much spin on it it was just unbelievable

  • Gonzalez almost cried in the last point shown in this video.... :P

  • Why are the vids from AO so dark??

  • true class Roger. love you. so sexy :)

  • Search "Hitler upset Federer Nadal" on youtube. It's funny!

  • by far the most gifted player of all time!!! a magician...a legend...without doubt...the greatest tennis player in history!!!wat timing..wat grace..wat fluididity!!! jus in awe of this glorious creation!!!

  • very good video... I make compilations too... i see that should have been dificult to make that one... congratullations

  • what does GOAT stand for?

  • @ApriliaNinja Haha, Greatest Of All Time!

  • @Torusion Oh, thanks

  • @rangeboyry You are a dumbass and that's all there is to it.

  • i just realized tennis is the most demanding game, like you have to be fast, strong, quickly, coordinated, smart, strong in legs, upper body, arms, good reaction, mentally ready, good mechanic, concentration, endurance I mean i think tennis is the most demanding sports of all... thumbs up for that please....

  • How can Federer beat more GS champs than Sampras when its Federer who has won most GS in the past 6/7 years? Unless of course some people expect him to have beaten himself in Slam finals ... lol

  • i think rangeboyry is very funny guy, maybe litlle retarded :)

  • My goodness @jamhiereus, you've got wrong stats there! Sampras GOAT is obviously based on your fanaticism.

  • @rangeboyry

Why do you feel the need to troll on a video about Federer?

Sampras is the best. Sure, then go and celebrate his greatnest on some Sampras videos. Do yourself a favour and stop trolling.

I can also come up with some statistics but I don't want to waste my time.

  • que gracioso en la primera parte si el partido se va a un terset set yo si se federer gana en tres sets.

  • this is a good video.

  • I adore this man, but, I'm sad because of his loss today...=/ But, that's sport, and that's life...I'll always support you, my champ!

    Much love & God Bless!

  • Excuse me but I don't get why you call him goat...? (I'm French and goat sounds only like an animal to me... hehe).

  • goat means "greatest of all time".

  • You should make another section: Hotdog to set up match point in a grand slam semi-final. Best shot in history by history's best player.

Djokovic's reaction was almost as good.

  • awesome & amazing!!!

i love the way he plays!!! <3

  • He is the GOAT!!!

  • @salamenia I appreciate that English may not be your first language but what exactly can you or do you mean? Federer is without doubt the most talented tennis player of all time.

  • @1307sammiemc FEDERER is the greatest tennis player of all time...simply the best ..thats what i meant

  • "that's just extrordinary" haha !

  • federer du bisch dä killer !

  • Federer is the most complete player ever !!!!!!!!!

  • in the section called the speed, he is fast but its not like he is faster than everyone else. its mainly because he can read the shots so well and he has a great reaction time

  • yes he is...

  • Love 0:16! Always puts a smile on my face :-)

  • Now, Sampras fans tend to try to demonstrate Roger's era as being weak. That's quite funny.

Because there are two explanations possible to answer the why so isn't any other player to have won much:

-They explain it as they are bad players.

-But forget to mention that perhaps Roger was simply too good and despite their skills couldn't overcome Roger.

Perhaps am I wrong to call Roger Greatest, but at least show it logically and not subjectivly.

  • Poor Roddick! How many times he got passed by by Federer's shot?

But who can do something against this? You just sit there and admire; at best you can be grateful to him for that he allowed you to withness his brilliance!

  • use a dictionary.

  • god i can't wait to see this live! Im going to wimbledon tomorrow on centre court! CANT WAIT!!!!!

  • what is rafa wearing??

Anyways, Roger Federer will always be the best player in the world and will be the last player to have elegance and perfection, players these days are only striving to have "nadal muscles" and just hit the ball hard.

    =D

  • Rafa needs to put his shit together cuz his injured now and Roger is playing awesome. Honestly i think Rafa done lol

  • whats striking is that the guy that made these highlights used only 3 matches (tmc 06 sf auso 07 sf and f) and that was perfectly enough for a 9min video showing every shot possible. it would take tons of matches for any other player showing their range of shots in such highlights and rogers showing them in almost every match

  • hahaha yes, absolutely true. This federer in 3 matches. Ridiculous.

  • Oh, please, Rafa...

The guy just plays wrong. Otherwise he wouldn't be unable to play Wimbledon, and soon he will retire because of his injuries.

  • what did kyle30bech say? because 7 people said he posted a bad comment....

  • Nah, the 7 people only disagreed. They all think FEDERER is the best ever, you see.

  • oh, yes. So kyle30bech probably said something along the line of "rafa is the best" or something? right?

    thanks for the info, btw

  • There must be a greatest and he surely has the numbers behind this affirmation. Moreover, I think Pete was no where near to be as graceful and elegant on the court despite he was a very Great player.

Both look and results tend to lead me and many others to give Roger this title.

There's a logical reflection behind this, so being sarcastic against this statement isn't appropriate. Show myself to be wrong or agree; being knowingly in error is fool.

  • *sigh* Do people here love looking for fights? I wasn't being sarcastic :P. You misunderstood me. I didn't say Federer wasn't the greatest. I only explained to qwertyriffic why Kyle's comment had -7. I do believe Federer is the best of all time, not that it matters...

  • Well, I misunderstood the sense of 7 persons. I thought they were people commenting here and this would have made it look sarcastic because of how rough was the statement.

Sorry, but it doesn't mean I was lookign for a fight; I was looking where I misunderstood tennis because I thought you might have known something I ignored to not claim Federer all time best.

  • I hear you, Peanut00750. However, that view has already been dealt with in my previous comments.

  • the best player ever, can`t wait for Wimbledon. Good luck Rog!!!!!!!!

  • I never made a case against who was better or who is the more complete player so I'm not sure why you made those points. My original response was to the pace in which each player reached the 14 slams. Thus the case for toughness of era's. But anyway since you mentioned it my opinion is to totally agree with you that Roger definetly has a more complete game than Pete. I think you're right on with that one. Who's better? Sad we didn't get to see them both in their primes to find out. Sad....

  • I agree but that's the case much of the time, unfortunately.

We can only really compare their games in each respective era and their achievements at the end of their careers. Certainly if we go on majors alone, then we have to say Roger is the best of all time because a) he's won the GS and made 4 FO finals b) he's tied with Pete as far as numbers go c) he was by far the longest male player to consecutively hold the No. 1 spot.

Again, he is best ever at the moment but that could change 1 day.

  • The opponents that Pete defeated for grand slam titles had a total of 48 grand slam wins between them........Federer's opponents have a total of 28. The winner of the tougher era is Pete Sampras. But you're right about Federer's brillant game. He invented shots on the court! He is the man! In fact, I'm on my way to the courts to practice some Federer's strokes right now. I don't dislike Federer. I'm a Federer fan! But, an honest one. Peace.

  • All I know is that I've watched Pete play and I've watched Roger play and there is no doubt in my mind that Roger is the more complete player. Pete has a slightly better serve and is better at volleys but that's about it. The rest is definately Roger. But even Pete himself has said that Roger is the greatest of all time so there you have it.

  • but you have to keep in mine that when federer came in he didnt let anyone else win thats why they didnt have any grand slams, im not disagreeing by any means with you just commenting

  • Federer has played and defeated 11 different opponents in GS finals: Mark Philippoussis- Reached 2 GS finals. Marat Safin- Reached 4 GS finals (won two) Andy Roddick- 4 GS finals (won one) Lleyton Hewitt- 4 GS finals (won two) Andre Agassi- 15 GS finals (won eight) Marcos Baghdatis- 1 GS final (none won) Rafael Nadal- 8 GS finals (won six) Fernando Gonzalez- 1 GS final (won none) Novak Djokovic- 2 GS finals (won one) Andy Murray- 1 GS final (won none) Robin Soderling 1 GS final
  • Sampras has played and defeated 9 different opponents: Andre Agassi- 15 GS finals (8 won) Jim Courier- 7 GS finals (4 won) Cedric Pioline- 2 GS finals (none won) Todd Martin- 2 GS finals (none won) Goran Ivanisevic- 4 GS finals (won one) Boris Becker- 10 GS finals (won six) Michael Chang- 4 GS finals (won one) Carlos Moya- 2 GS finals (won one) Patrick Rafter - 4 GS finals (won two) So, all these opponents have 23 GS slams between them. Federer's opponents have 20 GS slams.
  • Not much in it. Plus, its very likely that Nadal, Djokovic & Murray will win many more between them so the theory that Federer is playing in a 'weak' era doesn't hold up to scrutiny.

  • Ok, let's debate this a bit.

Safin and Hewitt both beat Sampras in GS finals. Hewitt always gave Sampras a lot of trouble, as did Safin.

Both have reached 4 GS finals and won 2 of them apiece.

Edberg, Becker, etc are only considered 'greater' because they shared out more GS titles between them. Sampras wasn't dominant like Federer, particularly on clay.

So many shots of only seen Federer hit, no one else. He actually INVENTED many of them.

  • Nah....only Nadal showed himself as a tennis great with slams left over since Federer started winning slams. Even if you look at "any" great player still swinging a racquet, more of the top 50 all-time players played in Sampras' era than Federer's. No matter how you look at it - Sampras faced more tennis greats as obstacles. But I don't want this to look like I hate Federer or I'm bashing Federer. I love the guy. I pattern my game after his. His game is classic! Federer is King!

  • the argument that federer played in a weak era isn't very convincing because the current era is very strong and federer is still doing pretty well. He isn't winning everything, but he is past his peak already. If he was 23 right now, he would still be winning everything. I don't think Safin was any worse than Murray, or Hewitt was any worse than Djokovic. There are always great players. Federer is just so much greater than them all = bad luck for safin, hewitt, roddick, and even nanbaldian

  • I don't think I buy that argument. 14 slams in 6 years leaves plenty of slams for another tennis great to produce multi slam victories. Only Nadal has achieved that in Fed's era which is why I say he only has one tennis great as an obstacle to worry about. Sampras throughout his slams saw Hewitt and Agassi win more than one slam. Lendl, Connors, Mcenroe, Becker, & Edberg weren't less great because of less titles, they had less titles because there was more greatness to win against.

  • Federer's era isn't really weaker. He had to play against Safin and Hewitt, both pretty good players and both could have won many more slams if it wasnt for federer. Roddick would also probably have 3-4 Grand Slams if it wasn't for Federer. Then there is Nadal. And 14 slams in 6 years doesn't reallly leave that much space for another great. 6 years = 24 slams, nadal taking 6/10 remaining. You have to remember federer would have won 6 more slams if it wasn't for Nadal.

  • Well...in all honesty, Federer does have the benefit of playing in a much weaker era than Sampras. Federer's titles should rack up quicker as Sampras (I think more often than Federer) had to go through more than one tennis great to win an individual slam. Usually a combo of players like: Lendl, Agassi, McEnroe, Courier, or Becker. Federer really only has to worry about Nadal as a tennis great obstacle. Nonetheless, I love Federer's game! Love it!!!

  • The reason some people say he played in a 'weak era' was precisely because he was beating everyone. He was so dominant, much more so than Sampras. His opponents gave him tough matches but he was simply better than them by a long way. That's why its only taken him 6 years to win 14 majors whereas it took Sampras 12. Also, Federer reached 4 FO finals and 1 semi-finals. Sampras reached 1 FO SF.

  • Federer 14 slams in 6 years

Sampras 14 slams in 12 years

    who is the best now?

  • RG 09 alllllll the way!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Federer: 237 consecutive weeks as Number 1, 20 consecutive semis, 19 finals, 13 grand slams and close for the next one (just one more game at RG), numerous titles and almost every single person in tennis stating that he is the best ever seen.

  • I just know that you really have to be a beast to be 237 consecutive weeks as No 1 in one of the most competitive sports. Not even Sampras is close to it.

Just impressive. And the worst thing is, if he wins the RG this year, and only Soderling is separating him from that, he really would be the best of all times...14 grand slams, 20 consecutive semis, 19 finals in the last year and probably back to number 1.

  • The best of all times is the one who has grat physical attributes, great technique, and a good mental. Federer has those attributes and yes maybe the best, rafa is not too far except technique.

  • YES HE IS!!!

  • yeah¡¡¡

    1:17

  • yes, the best

  • Yes, he is.

  • With Federer you have to look past the numbers. The tennis Gods decided it was time for the perfect tennis player in every aspect - performance, personality, style, all-round game, generosity, and he's the most beautiful player to watch perform! He's affected the game like no one else.

  • Federer is the best, no matter what his record is against Nadal. No one has even come close to what he's done. Not Sampras, not Agassi, not Borg, not McEnroe, no one. The reason Nadal has the head-to-head lead is because 10 of there matches have been on clay. Nadal even says Federer is the greatest he's ever seen and Murray also says Federer is the greatest of all time. Anyone who's ever seen him play live, or played against him has said it

  • Was last years Wimbeldon on Clay?? Was the recent Austrailian Open on Clay?? Was Indian Wells In Cailifornia on clay.?? Monte Carlo was and Rafa won it for the fifth straight year. No matter what the record is????? That's like saying the guy that came in second to Michael Phelps is a better swimmer than Phelps. Clownface

  • Uh yeah wait are we doing records here cause I can point out a lot of federer's records that Nadal doesnt have.

Ok since you brought up Wimbledon, um wait who won it five straight times, beating Nadal twice in a row? Oh yeah thats Federer. Who's won the U.S. Open five times in a row, making him the only player to win two separate slams five times in a row? Oh yeah thats Federer too. Who's won 13 grand slams, only one off the all time record? Federer.

  • Who won 4 games in the French Final last year? Federer. Who lost Wimbeldon last year. ? Federer. Who won the Gold Medal last year, not Federer, who won the Austrailian Open this year, not Federer, Who won I, Who won Indian Wells this year, not Federer, Who won Monte Carlo this year, not Federer.

  • Federer didn't, but he is still the best, Nadal just runs like crazy, is the only thing he knows to do.

  • So you're saying the guy that lost the last 6 meetings is better? Interesting point of view. What Nadal knows how to do is beat Roger "Fag wearing sweater" Federer. That's what Nadal knows how to do.. I've never seen Connors , Borg ,McEenroe, Lendl, Edberg, Beckjer, cry..after losing sometimes they would have tears of joy ( Agassi).but not because they lost.

  • yeah damn straight thats what we are saying. I think you forget how dominant Federer was in his prime. In 2006, he reached 16 out of 17 finals, won three out of four slams, reached the final in the other one, and won the end of the year championships, something Nadal has never done.. And actually I've seen McEnroe do something worse than cry. When he lost the french open final he just walked off the court and didnt say anything. Who cares if he cried?

  • he is better... if we look at technique. roger is much better. whats wrong with federer crying? do you know what that tells me... it tells me that he actually cares about the game itself. It wasnt like a dummy spit or something it was emotional for him because he cares. Maybe that means nothing to you but to big tennis fans like me it means alot. I actually like nadal too so im not trying to say this just to put nadal down because he too is one of the greatest the game has seen and hes only 22.

  • the guy that lost the last 6 straight matches is better?? WOW. You're like a little child that say's " just because".

  • oh and guess what? NADAL EVEN SAYS FEDERER IS THE GREATEST PLAYER HE HAS EVER SEEN, ALONG WITH HIS COACH, UNCLE TONY

  • That's because Rafa is very humble, not an excuse maker like Federer.

  • Excuse maker? when does Federer make excuses?

  • actually i have seen tiger woods cry. and guess what? Tiger woods, when he loses, its never in the final of some big tournament so he doesnt have to give a speech. so shut the hell up you little pussy. i actually like nadal, but in the end federer is just the greatest player to ever live. no one has ever been as dominant as him. in case you didn't notice, you have the world against you seeing as federer won the award for most popular and liked player of the year for like the 6th straight time

  • greatmya, that didn't answer jlo32005's question. I guess you don't have one because you are probably pulling information out of your ass.

  • They've played 20 times All I know is that Rafa has won 13 and Roger has won 7 There's your answer

  • You are talking about direct matches, I am talking about their own careers. When Rafa will do what Federer did, then I will shut up, but I know it will never happen, not to Nadal at least :)

  • Answer me this , since you have all of the answers. How do you compare two different players in individual sports, besides head to head contests? Nadal is clearly better than Federer. I'm glad Roger won last week as to set up a great French Open. Hopefully they'll meet in the final and we'll see a great match.

  • Who won Madrid 09 this year? Federer. Who has the best "#1" record? Federer.

Who is considered the best? Federer.

Who has the most titles in history? Federer.

Who is enjoyed by most people? Federer.

Who has the best form? Federer.

Who has the best forehand? Federer.

Who is all time leader in tennis money? Federer.

Who hasn't even come close to federer's records? everyone, including NADAL!!!!

  • YOU say Federer is the best, YOU say he's enjoyed by most people, YOU say he has the best from, YOU say he has the best forehand, I'll say what the record book say's, Pete Sampras has the most titles. What record book are you reading?

  • Yeah well greatmya, that won't last for long, sorry :P

  • Answer this Who has won more majors, Sampras or Federer? Answer this, what is the head to head record of Nadal aganist Federer. I'm sure you won't respond.

  • sampras 64 federer 60 BUT...

masters series sampras 11 federer 15

    GS sampras 14 federer 15

if your concern is overall titles roger could sign in any 250 series tournament where the 2nd seed would be world n20 and win 19 of 20 titles he's in but thats not his goal

  • Federer is 27... It could even be possible he gets 4 more GS.

  • Dude wtf are you saying, he said fcking "10 of their matches", not the frikken recent ones. 10 have been on clay nd i have to admit, nadal is one of the best on clay i've ever seen. there u have it. fed has the greatest record in tennis history and will continue to build on it and nadal has the greatest clay record in history. althought fed he has gone down alot lately, he will come back sometime! nd fed is the greatest so far in tennis history. will nadal pass him? who knows.

  • wat do people mean by "the courts are slower"

like i hear a lot of people saying that, not just Plasuun

  • like after the ball bounces, the ball slows down more after the bounce

  • but what makes the ball slow down so much now? like what was diff back then that made the balls bounce faster?

  • Holy Jesus.

  • the best

  • HE IS THE BEST but im more intregued in what Nadal will do when he reaches that level, if he hasnt surrpassed it yet. (dont think so) Federer is finished unfortuenately, but he is the greatest of all times for the timebeing that Nadal has to reach yet.

  • I don't think he is finished, he just needs to take a new approach to Nadal and Murray. He needs to get a coach to help him get past the mental block of these two. He is so close in all matches (minus clay).

  • I agree with you somewhat but don't you see that it is not only Nadal and Murray? Last week it was Jokovich aswell but then I have to agree the players like Tseppi are not that hard :p

So I guess it's just hard to beat the top 5 players for him. And dont forget he is

27-28 and he'll get some sleep loss now, he got married last sunday to his girlfriend :p Congratz Federer

  • come on let's say hes ONE of the all time greatest

  • Obviously he is one of the best, but he is clearly not the best of all-time. No one can say that because he has been dominated by Nadal. If Nadal stays healthy I believe he will pass all the records. he is the modern version of Borg and the best athelete tennis has ever seen.

  • Simply the best...what else can I say!

  • unless he plays Nadal, then he's not the best. Look at the record!!!

  • And what was that record before 2008 (the supposed year of Roger's decline)? Nadal is most likely playing tennis of his life at the moment and is only 22, fighting mostly 5-setters against federer excluding clay of course. Not to meantion that almost all grand slam surfaces are slower than they used to be which heavily favours nadal. Now i'm not in anyway saying that federer is better or that the record is irrelevant... just that it truly isn't that simple given roger's and nadal's current form.

  • no doubth he is

  • yes he is...

  • this is brilliant video,it just makes you appreciate what roger has given us so much.i hope he find this form again this year and theres no doubt in my mind he will go down as the greatest of all time

  • he is rhe greatest player

  • Yessssssssssss he is !!!!!!!

  • alot of best of fed with the expense of nadal.

  • He is Simply the best player ever..!!!!!!

  • dudes Tell me where can I find to download a match Tennis Masters Cup where rafa has this orange shirt??

  • In the end, he's the best styled ever

  • Roger is the number one player of all the time, the end.

  • wow,I took a look at some of the backgrounds on flickr, some of them are just AMAZING

  • yes, he certainly is!!!!!! W King Rogerrrr!!!

  • YES!!!! Roger! THE BEST OF ALL TIME!!!!

  • roflmfao@cric!

  • good compilation; better quality and some flashing music would be appreciated tho..

  • video kind of nice but with music it would be great

  • ROGER IS THE G.O.A.T!!!!!

  • 13 slams..lol.Cric is Rogers on line stalker.......loves him really..just finds it hard to show his love....lol

  • "Federer explodondo" indeed.

  • hehe :D

  • Federer, is he the best player ever already `?

  • yes?

  • cric, you're no better

  • es el mejor

  • Do people like cric321 down there feel good about bashing someone who's more talented, has got more money, and is all in all a better person than they are? It doesn't really matter what you think, he is one of the best players to ever live, so just appreciate him

  • roger federer is the chapion! he is so cool and natural!

  • i just went to the flicker site. THOSE ARE Nice pictures! brilliant photos!

  • are u fucking kidding me? what kind of an ignorant mother-less fucker are u? how many titles ahve u won to say that? OK he had a terrible year but that just because we are used to see him take everything, but if u look carefully, he got himself to 2 Slam finals, won a gold medal and 2 other tournaments, thats some thing not anyone can make.

  • wow, maybe lots of frustration underneath this words?

  • "how a true champion plays?", aren´t you suppossed to know something before u start talking bullshit? Seriously man, I think ur just somebody who tried to play tennis, and then realized that u where too damm stupi for it and got angry to anyone how could play, like Federer...

  • cric sucks dick

  • hows your destiny now, asshole. I can see u haven´t write much more since Roger won US Open, why is that? fear? or are u just ashamed for being such a dick? anyway, enjoy Federer´s 13 titles...

  • HAHAHAHAAHHAHAHAAH hey cric321 look who was wrong. YOU! federer won the us open. hahahahaha so much for done. hahahahha

  • Wow,what's your problem? Anyone who likes tennis has to recognize that Federer is one of best. You cannot say that he is finnished. Why don't you behave like Nadal and respect Roger?

  • cric your a mother fuckin bitch.. first of all james blake isnt a nobody hes beatin rafa 2 times and he used to be #1 in the fuckin world. 2- hes not pathetic hes one of the worlds best player of all time. 3- hes beatin rafa 8 times. 4- 12 gradslams... do u really want to know how hard that is... go try it yourself.
