A long time ago, the water levels were lower than they are today. The only part about that being debated is how much lower. Let's suppose the money pit is actually the top of an otherwise underground bunker and we'll never see the bottom.

One thing is for sure. There is something there that contains ancient history that could change current history hypotheses, theory and/or documented or falsely documented knowledge.
