I have one in 20 gauge and it's pretty smooth shooting. The inertia system contains most of the recoil. Of course it's only a 20 gauge, but it's a lot smoother then other 20's that I've shot. At less then 51/2 lbs., it's great for all day upland hunting, especially grouse hunting.
