  • how hard was the LT1 swap?? I'm thinking about swapping one out of a buick roadmaster into my 'maro

  • @guitarplaya1234 I wish I could make a FAQ at the top specifically for this question. It depends on your ability as a mechanic. Technically its not much different from an old school 350 motor. However it has a bunch of newer technology parts that make it twice as expensive to build! If u have money to throw around... BUY AN LS1. Doing wiring to hookup the ecu to the old ecu is the hard part. I paid someone to have that done.

  • lose the flaps

  • @MOTiVATEDxDEViL Yea Their pretty beat up. I'll have to get some new ones this year.

  • How difficult was the swap? If I can get my hands on a cheap Lt1 I'd consider it.

  • its a 5.7l right?

  • @nickrod666 correct.

  • Comment removed

  • Dear Santa...

    Whait, does Santa jack cars?

  • You hear that? That's what a car should sound like.

  • It sounds just like a 305 when you rev it up

  • @ShawnSubaru Can u link me to that video? Id like to hear.

  • very nice although the lt1 can take beatings like no ls1 can

but in general both engines are great n expensive

    ahahahah

but its worth it, thats wat i think

  • STILL NEEDS A TUNE DIP SHIT

  • @dacraze1 The smoke was from a broken valve seal in the stock heads, which were replaced over a year ago U MAD bro?

  • @justinquaker You sir are the greatest troll in history, if your not I feel very sorry for you that my comment make you so upset u feel the need to comment on something you havn't the slightest clue on. Good day to you sir.

  • OMG! That thing sounds sexy as fuh. Really can't wait for mine. I'm replacing the LT1 longblock in my ride with a new one. It's already got K&N intake, longtube headers, catless y-pipe, and Magnaflow catback. I can't wait to get it all done.

  • Great vid man. Love the sound! :D

  • It would sound better with an SLP Loudmouth II adapted to a 3rd Gen.

  • the sound made 60 girls pregnant

  • No cutout right ?

  • that sounds sexy man, what you run on the 1/4?

  • I really gotta know man, I have an 89 Iroc stock, but i really need a new engine and was leanin towards an lt1 or ls1 swap. how much did the parts end up costing you?

  • @Tyler041390 If I had the cash I woulda have done an LS swap, alot more expensive than LT. You best best is just to build a general 350 carb motor, lotta power, easy to build and alot cheaper than LT or LS

  • ahhhhh music to my ears.

  • Nice man, how much money have you put into it so far? I got a 92 with an L98; wish mine sounded half as good as yours. I got a video of it on my page, but like I said wish mine was half as cool as yours. Waiting for my horn to come in so i can get it legal and start making some videos with it. One quick question, can you tell me where the horn(s) go? When i bought the car it didnt come with any. I thought they went by the license plate but from what i can see thats where some lights go.

  • @ubcs109 Hey man, nice car. Ive never had to mess with my horn but upon doing a quick Google search it says that there is a horn behind the battery in the fender & on the opposite side also in the same spot.

  • @IrocZGuy87 Hey thanks for your help. I found where you were talking about and got them installed. Took it to get it inspected; failed the emmissions test. The guy said he will pass me for an extra $60. Hopefully I get some videos up by Saturday. No promises though lol. Thanks for your help again. Sorry for the late reply.

  • @ubcs109 Yea it it stinks having cars that need to pass the emissions test lol

  • @IrocZGuy87 Yes move down here to Florida. =)

  • dude mean sounding it must go good!!

  • nice camaro sounds great..check out my 95 trans am lt1 just posted a vid of it with my new flowmaster muffler

  • killer sound!!!

  • get a fucking tune dip shit

  • @dacraze1 lol, as I have posted on my page. Post some videos of your own car or don't talk please & thank you. Car is tuned great, don't know what your talking about. Please stop being ignorant, I can tell all you do is bash other people's videos. Grow Up.

  • bad ass car dude much props ,

i got a question though when u dropped the lt1 in what other motor swap did you consider?

    perhaps an ls1?

  • Considered the LS1 but At the time it would have cost me alot more to buy & build an LS1, probably double the cost of the LT1

  • i have a 1992 rs convertible it has the 305 tbi, i really wanna fix this car any ideas into what engine mods i should do or engine swap? i want more hp around 400 :)

  • 305 motors really arent worth putting the money into. But if you are planning a motor swap, you need to remember 2 things. Make sure the car is actually worth restoring and modding and 2 You need a good chunk of change to get started. Lets say at least 5 grand right off the bat on the motor alone. Thats not including labor costs, electrical, and all the extras.

  • @IrocZGuy87 yeah i need an lt1 like the one you have here, i have 6 g's to fix it but it needs interior as well as exterior fixing (Paint, seats and door panels) so in that sense you might be right, its just that i love that body style maybe i should buy one that already looks decent, it'll probably be cheaper....thanks for the tips....love the sound of that car

  • Not even looking at a motor swap, there's a lot more involved then just 400hp. RS trannys aren't meant to handle that much power along with the rear end, and the suspension will become flemsy even on simple launches. If the #'s on the motor match the car, I'd say fix the motor up which should allow money for the rest of the car. My biggest concern is 400hp in a convertible, that's a death wish. 300hp and you'll still have trouble affording tires, lol.

  • Yeah what killer said about the frame too. Convertibles don't make the best drag cars. The frame on an old car like that would surly twist with 400hp

  • Gee do you think you got enough smoke coming out of that, lol, good luck with that,

  • It's believed to be some of the valve seals in the heads. Its gonna be taken care of this spring.

  • those LT1's always sound mean when you pipe 'em. I'm going to swap one of these into my 86 V6 firebird. Any idea how hard this would be?

  • I've said before, rebilding an LT1 motor is almost the same as any other 350, Get your self a manual and start reading. The wiring is the difficult part, you can pay to have it done. Doing it yourself with require a lot of knowledge about schematics and electronics. I had it done.

  • this camaro sounds amazing..I have a '87 iroc with a stock 305 in it and i waz wondering how to get that sound but keepin it street leagal. without a classic plate ect.

  • Hey, I had an 86 Iroc over here in the uk, loved it, I gotta say, this is the best sounding camaro I've heard! great job mate!

  • what all did you have to do to for that swap to work

  • The entire car had to be re-wired to match a 95 Camaro and connect all the old connections to the new ones.

  • is that 80 series flowmaster or the 40 series

  • 80 series

  • sounds beautiful

  • did you keep the iroc radiator or replaced it with the lt1 radiator?

  • I still have the stock radiator right now.

  • What are the size/shape of the primaries on your headers? If they are not large D ports, do they partially restrict the exhaust port?

  • Uses a Rectangle shaped port I believe. I dont believe so, We've determined that its oil burning and its most likely a valve seal or a valve guide inside the head. Lotta work to do this winter.

  • LT1 heads are D ports, are they long tube headers? If so what brand/size of primaries or part number? I am looking into doing this swap and am kinda stuck on what long tubes to run.. I dont want to spend near a grand for hawks headers for it.

  • Their Edelbrock Shorties.

  • how hard was the swap?

  • Putting it together & dropping it in was the same as any other motor but the wiring part yeah thats quite a pain in the ass.

  • talk about unburnt gas

    lol

  • Yea shes running a little rich, still working out the bugs a little here & there. But Ive noticed most LT1s do smoke a little under increased load.

  • mine did big time when on the dyno.

  • thanks dude

i wasnt sure if i could keep mine, thanks...

  • wut type of tranny you have?

i was wondering if i can put my 4l60e tranny in a iroc 3rd gen?

  • nice car dude i got a 86' iroc-z w/lt1 swap & lt4 hot cam kit

  • Fucking amazing..I am working on a Ls1 swap on my 1987 Iroc-Z
