in 2011, the Iranian airforce still uses 707s purchased from the USA under the late Shah of the kingdom of Iran (RIP) and operates them regularly on weekly schedules ... how amazing does that make the 707? ... very! that's the how much!
I am most impressed at how everyone is all dressed up to travel. Now, you will probably sit next to some guy in overflowing rubber thongs, cut off jeans, tank top with smelly armpits.
What a fun video. Reminds me of my days from grade school when we watched films (and filmstrips) like these during social studies classes. Thanks for posting!

@xcompa77x - The pipes on the rear were noise suppressors required to meet noise level rules. The unsilenced JT3/J57 turbojets were godawful noisy.

@xcompa77x Those are silencer pipes for the early gen turbojets.

During Pan American and TWA days, the Idlewind Airport is JFK airport today.
Love the 707 v shaped wings with 4 jet engines.
Anyways, the earlier 707s had funny nozzles. :)

Ahhh the old days, no gangsta rappaing explaining how a high tec machine works, no Hannah Montanna singing and no blackies sitting in the cockpit

@matatan69 As long as you're not in the cockpit I think aviation is safe.

How times have changed

It's a "water wagon" 707 since they used water injection to boost the power of the early trubojets.

How time has flown away, making people and machines obsolete.
