2 people don't get the joke that these are all actually milk men or women, with repressed psychological issues of an acute nature, due to a lack of milk during early child hood, who are all obviously confused that they are actually psychological doctors due to a later on set mental illness when they went to college and received a PhD. and thought it meant something. Such as giving one the ability to diagnose a persons mental issues. Oh wait that was the joke.

Did anyone else appreciate the irony that he should have been called a psychologist milkman? Considering that psychiatrists describe mental illness whereas psychologists just the study of people: how they think, how they act, react and interact..

@doorwindow7 The main difference is that psychiatrists are medical doctors who then go on to study a bit of psych, but still go by the medical model of diagnosis and treatment (usually with medication :/ ) ... and psychologists are ... well yeah, what this is. But they still "describe mental illness" - just in a way that doesn't label the client. Not exactly sure what you mean by what you said the difference between them is, because they both do all of that stuff.

That's a running joke. There's an earlier Python sketch at a chemist's store where Eric Idle comes in and says "I'd like some aftershave," the chemist replies "Certainly sir, walk this way please," and Eric's response is "If I could walk that way I wouldn't need aftershave." One of Monty Python's best jokes IMHO.
