  • Beaucoup Of Blues (1970) is one of Ringo Starr's finest solo albums but not the one to start with if you wish to discover Ringo's solo discography.

  • well done Ring!:)

  • this is a great tune done very well

  • sounds a bit like Buck Owens

  • man he is the one who play the guitar!!!!

  • my dad wrote this song then I was born in 1971. my dad is awesome, he is Buzz Rabin.

  • Proof that each and everyone of the Beatles was an artist in his own right! their solo careers testify.

  • Superb a complete and fabulous surprise, i'm going to buy it.

  • this was completely set up for him...all was done and all he did was put his voice to it...bloody beautiful...

  • This song shouldn't work. Ringo's British accent comes through. It is slow-paced honky tonk with equally simple, trite lyrics. It should be a spoof (but stay with me here)...Ringo doesn't mean it that way, and he doesn't fail. This is a really nice song and I thank him for having the guts to do it.

  • Ringo's voice sounds perfect here. Perfectly suited to this style. Well done Rings.

  • this album reminds me of my very young childhood :)!

  • great album.

  • Ringo's voice: any time any form !!!

  • Not bad... Ringo + Country sounds much better than I expected! :-)

  • @lapislazuli7 When Ringo sang country in The Beatles e.g. Act Naturally + Honey Don't, he was at his best. He has a voice for country music.

  • @Xmenfan246 You are absolutely right, I love "Act Naturally". When I was younger I had no clue it was country. ;)

  • Excellent album ... as well as ,,Birds,, Lp ,,Sweetheart of the Rodeo,,

....I like country music in this way

  • Yes, another under rated album. I still think that ALL the Beatles 1st. solo albums were their best work. They were breaking ground and experimenting in their own ways. McCartney's first 2 albums are great. Lennon's 1st, blows peoples minds. Harrison's, All Things Must Pass, is excellent. Even when they first broke up it was an exciting time in music because they were going in different directions.

  • A great undrratted album featuring many of Nashvilles greats including the four Jourdaniires who also backed Elvis.

  • Yes, after being with The Beatles only a bunch of musicians superior or equal to the Fab 4 fame could put a LP of Ringo to prove he was in a space of creativity similar to his Liverpudian pals, and this record was one of the best I've heard, just because the great family of musicians from the South of USA and their virtuosity, they not only gave Ringo the songs and magnificent arramgements but even deep feeling and voice in tune which proves he had a special prodigiosity. Plenty of blues.

  • well i agree that charlie watts , (also a grat drummer ) can't play drum's part as "rain" and "she said " .. i think he can't play even Long Tall sally ( expecially the final part ) or Oh Darling ...anyway i think , as a drummer , that Get off of my mind is very easy to play ...

  • Some Charlie watts fan was so proud that he published a cartoon and designed some stages and he asked me what Ringo accomplished as he was sure Ringo was a weak link or something-this is great,. thanks for posting.

  • Not to diss Charlie Watts, who's a great drummer, but this Charlie vs. Ringo thing has been going on for decades, and it always sems like it's Charlie's fans who are dissing Ringo. The fact is that both have completely different styles and can't really be compared. If you listen to "She said, she said" and "Rain" there is absolutley NO way Charlie could have done those parts. On the reverse side I don't think Ringo could have done what Charlie did on "Lies" or "Get off of my cloud".

  • this is greatt

  • It was always said that Ringo couldn't sing ...

I think he sang quite well on this album.

I also thought that his voice was doing well on the album "Sentimental Journey".

  • Yes I love the Album Sentimental Journey and I love to listen to that song. This song is very sad "Beaucoup of Blues". I wonder why Ringo was so sad when he recorded this song.

  • probably because he was depressed about his boys breaking up and he was heavily drinking during this time.

  • Sure,Ringo never made it in country. But compared to a lot of the "Poop Shootin' Boogie" stuff that passes as country today, this was classic stuff, indeed

  • Thanks for posting - Ringo is Fantastic and I love this song.

    Hugs

    Rosemarie
