Two fabulous Seattle area bands; Doxology, Perry Acker and the incredible Underwater Music Festival - All forces to be reckoned with! All Awesome! All going to grow big!
No matter who sings this song I love it... even I sound good singing it(and thats saying something)... I wonder if The Beatles knew that this song would be so easy to redo and just flow beautifully from a lot of people quite easily
I know David Cook said he used this song as inspiration for his version on American Idol, but I don't really see too many parallels-- anyone want to help? David's verses are in a much lower register and his chorus is more bombastic.
hm. think there are lot of sides to a story. at least we can appreciate that in that 'mainstream supersuperficial short attention span consum everything with nice pr' world someone (D Cook) actually listens to stuff and releases and spices up that glitter world. still u have to perform it. he doesn't to reinvent the wheel and compared to the whole show and the quality he does a good job. u can smoke the judges as well as public opinions in a pipe anyway (german figure of speech)...
My sentiments exactly. Everyone got their panties twisted when David Cook did this version of Eleanor Rigby and Chris Cornell's version of Billie Jean. Wtf? The Beatles and The King of Pop wrote the friggin songs. Interpretations of an original song doesn't mean much.
Agreed. David Cook's voice is better suited to this version of the song. They both "borrowed"...from The Beatles. That was my only point. I'd never heard of Doxology before Cook did this version on Idol. They should have thanked him instead of crying foul.

@iBladebey Admiring males doesn't suddenly make you homosexual, it's natural human attraction not defined by sexual orientation.

What an amazing interpretation!
I heard a lot of covers of this song and this one is probably the most "original" of them!

Out of every version of this song, this and Mission: Blacks version are best.

runawaylegalsec 3 years ago
Not a copy, it's a cover.

In my opinion...David Cooks rendition, wether you want to say was a copy, steal, whatever.......totally blew the Doxology version away.
