  • There is a lot of interesting research about tidal power happening right now. We'll be airing some updates to this issue on our new series, This American Land, premiering on PBS stations nationwide this fall. We're also on YouTube, Facebook and Twitter. The series won't air in the UK (it focuses solely on issues in the US), but you can see a lot of our reports online!

  • In the UK, we cannot build a tidal barrage or place underwater turbines because of flying rats on cliff edges and "sea urchins" living between jagged cliffs. In America, there is room for progress. All hydroelectric sources need to be utilised for the sake of the earths future and now.

  • New York electric bills to soar 12% Starting May 28 2011

  • pity it won't help the people, after all a trubine cost the same no matter what powers it, yet wind farms and wave farms do not lower the power costs when they have no fuel costs and far less daily labour costs, so instead of the billions saved in fuel going to the people, the cost has risen dramatically since wind farms and solar farms have hit the grid, don't put them on the grid, sell direct or keep your crap we cant afford it now.

  • tidal is the best renewable energy source, 200MW per station...and its 100% predictable as the tides are controlled by the moon's gravity. If the tide stops, then so has the moon.

  • where did you get the 200Megawatt per station from?

  • textbook :P
