This is a good idea. Why should every single person involved except the donor benefit? The donor is the person who is voluntarily suffering so the reciever may have a chance at life? How would the medical staff or hospitals feel if the Government amended the law to say they had to donate their time unpaid to give the transplants?For $50k I'd sell a kidney in a heartbeat. Ask the medical field to operate for free and watch how fast their ethics change. Donors suffer and miss work? Who wants that?

We don't sell organs because it would be to expensive? The overwhelming number of people would choose to sell instead of donating. This means that when a poor person needs a new organ, they won't be able to afford one. Only the rich would get organs. Healthcare costs are already way to high.

Are you serious! Blood is not scarce because our body can continually produce it. Everybody is born with a set amount of organs and healthy people cannot just grow new organs like they can produce blood. Giving blood is no big deal and that is why it is sold/donated all the time while giving a kidney is a major decision.

Liver regenerates. You don't need 'all' your kidney's. A human doesn't technically need their 'entire' intestinal track. So, there are some options which are fairly expendable. Sure not everyone has a heart they can just throw away but the option to be reimbursed for what is your's is neither wrong nor is it a bad idea. The availability of organs that can be spared becoming spared would save lives. Monetary compensation or not. I fail to see how your argument is valid.

I'm not arguing that selling organs is immoral, I'm saying it is impractical. If people started selling their organs, a lot less people would be willing to donate them for free. Thus causing health care costs to go up or resulting in a situation where only the wealthy could buy an organ.

Ah, now that's different. I'd say it's debatable. Personally, in my own position, I'm saving my organs for the people immediately around me. Family, friends, etc. There maybe people who feel differently. I'd be very interested to see if, at all, monetary compensation for blood has increased health care. That monetary compensation for organs would increase cost of health care and make it impractical is a bold claim.

do you really think that doctor is a donor or he is just like every other normal person who doesnt want to give their organs up, i would really feel disturbed to even consider something like that, but selling is going to create other problems like people forcing others to do it or some one who has no money would do it, there could be people who are forced homeless can buy drugs with the money

I am willing to sell my kidney to anyone that is serious about buying one.....just let me know what steps I need to take. Why would the hospital pay $100,000 for a kidney they don't need? You need to go back to school and research supply and demand again. Further, if kidney selling were legal, it would obviously be regulated so that you couldn't sell a kidney that wasn't yours and in your body. That would mean even fewer people would get their kidneys stolen. You haven't pplied the least bit of critical thinking toward your own arguments.

I'd sell a kidney to pay off student loans! OK, I know I shouldn't have student loans to begin with; I also should not have gone to a liberal arts school anyway. Selling a kidney would help the person who needs it and help me recover from poor financial decisions!
